"Hyuk...I...Love...You. I...I'm doing this for us...so that you can...you can...be with...Hyoyeon. I...know you love...love her... So...go..." Donghae mustered his strength to speak as he tried to ignore the pain passing through his body.
Hyukjae gasped at the reason for Donghae's action. Donghae thought he loved Hyoyeon? He...He did this just so that he could have a happily ever after with her?
"What are you talking about? I don't love Hyoyeon! I love you! My mate! I've always loved you! I...Donghae? Donghae! Sungmin! Do something! He's fading. Omg! Sungmin! I...I can't lose him!" Hyukjae cried out as he saw Donghae slipping into unconsciousness.
Sungmin saw the panic, fear and desperation in Hyukjae's eyes and knew that they had to use the last resort.
"Bleed him."
"What? Sungmin! He'll die!"
"Bleed him and then feed him your blood. It's the only way to rid his body of the mercury. Do it now! Or else there won't be any time left for him!"
Looking incredulous at Sungmin, Hyukjae immediately cut both of Donghae's wrist with the knife Sungmin got from the kitchen. With tears in his eyes, he had to watch Donghae get paler and paler as he bled out. When he was confident there wasn't any more mercury in Donghae's bloodstream, Hyukjae quickly bit into his wrist before placing it onto Donghae's mouth.
"Come on Donghae...drink! Please! I don't what happens later. We can solve it together. But you have got to drink and stay alive!" Hyukjae pleaded as he watched Donghae slowly drinking down his blood.
Sungmin sighed in relief. Donghae was finally getting colour back into his cheeks. Hyukjae had also stopped his flow of tears as he saw Donghae flutter his eyelashes. Donghae was waking up.
"Ugh...What happened? What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be with Hyoyeon? Why...WHY DIDN'T YOU LET ME DIE?!" Donghae started shouting at Hyukjae when he realized he was alive and fine.
"I guess I'll let you two talk."
"Thanks Sungmin." Hyukjae said in gratitude as he watched Sungmin leave the house before turning back to Donghae.
"We really need to talk."
