Chapter 7

As soon as he reached the room Sunggyu threw open the door and ran inside.  He looked around but was confused when he didn’t see Woohyun anywhere.

“Woohyun!  Are you in here?” Sunggyu called out as he walked around the room looking for Woohyun.

While he was looking around suddenly another loud boom of thunder sounded and a loud bang came from the free-standing closet followed by a howl of pain.

“Woohyun?” Sunggyu called out as he cautiously walked over to the closet.

Sunggyu tried to open the closet door to check inside but when he did he found that the door wouldn’t budge.  He put his ear to the door and as soon as he did he could hear someone whimpering softly inside.

“Woohyun are you in there?” Sunggyu asked as he knocked on the closet door.  “What’s wrong?  Open the door and come out.”

“N-No!” Woohyun stuttered from the other side of the closet door.

Another loud boom of thunder sounded and the whimpering coming from the closet got louder.  Sunggyu looked at the closet door puzzled at Woohyun’s behavior before a sudden and shocking realization came over him.

“Woohyun-ah, A-are you scared of thunder?” Sunggyu asked softly into the crack between the closet doors so Woohyun could hear him.

“O-of c-course n-not!” Woohyun exclaimed from inside the closet but when another boom of thunder sounded that Woohyun claimed he could feel shake the house he let out a loud shriek.

“Sure because that sounds so convincing,” Sunggyu said sarcastically rolling his eyes.  “Come on just come out of the closet.

“No!  This is how I cope so just go away!” Woohyun hollered from inside the closet.  “I’ve done this for years so don’t worry I’ll be fine as soon as it stops!”

Sunggyu’s eyes widened in surprise when he heard this, ‘For years?’

“M-my parents were never home much from when I was a little kid,” Woohyun started to explain as if he had heard Sunggyu’s thoughts.  “Whenever there was a bad storm like this I was alone so I was forced to find a way to cope with it...”

Sunggyu suddenly felt really sorry for Woohyun.  He had no idea that Woohyun’s parents hadn’t been around much when he was growing up and he couldn’t imagine not having anyone there all the times he had been scared as a kid.  He was also guessing that since his parents weren’t around that much that that explained why after he had first met Woohyun years ago that the other had liked to come over to his place to bother him so often.  Back then, to his strong dislike because Woohyun was his mom’s best friend’s son, his mother had never allowed him to kick him out and force him to go home.  He realized now that it was probably for the better that his mom had forbid him from doing so because Woohyun would’ve probably had to just go home to a big empty house.  Sunggyu let out a long sigh and knocked on the door again.

“Come on Woohyun just come out,” Sunggyu called out into the closet again.

“No!” Woohyun yelled from inside the closet still refusing to open the door.

“I would think that the thunder would sound worse from in there since it would echo,” Sunggyu said contemplatively.

There was no response for a little while and suddenly the closet door opened and Woohyun stuck his head out a little.

“I-it would?” Woohyun asked with a shaky voice.

“Well yeah probably,” Sunggyu replied shrugging.

Suddenly another loud boom of thunder sounded and Woohyun yelped and attempted to shut himself back up in the closet.  Sunggyu was quicker though and grabbed Woohyun’s arm and pulled him into his arms.  Woohyun’s eyes widened in shock but as the thunder continued to boom he did not hesitate to bury his face in Sunggyu’s chest and tightly grip his shirt in his hands.  Sunggyu tightened his hold on Woohyun and his hair comfortingly.

Wow who would’ve thought that Nam Woohyun the lady killer could be reduced to this from a mere thunderstorm,’ Sunggyu thought to himself.

He’d never seen Woohyun this scared before and although he would deny it later it actualy worried him...a lot.  Woohyun continued to tremble in his arms and Sunggyu slowly sat down leaning his back against the closet and pulled Woohyun into his lap so he could continue to hold him.  He was still shaking though so Sunggyu did the first thing that came to his mind: he sang.

I still hear your voice
I still feel your touch
Now I live in your path again
I still see your image
I still feel your warmness
Now I live in your time again

As Sunggyu got to the end of the first verse he felt Woohyun’s stop trembling and his breathing evened out.  He looked down and noticed that Woohyun had fallen asleep against his chest.  Sunggyu looked at the bed on the other side of the room then glanced back down and Woohyun.   Sighing he slowly got up and carried Woohyun to the bed placing him on it and pulling the blanket up over him.  Afterwards he got into the bed next to Woohyun and looked at his peacefully sleeping face.

‘I guess this is okay for tonight...’ Sunggyu thought to himself.

Suddenly Sunggyu felt his phone vibrate in his pocket and he pulled it out to read the new message he received.

Waiting out the storm in the cafe with Myungsoo.
Don’t know when I’ll be back...
-Sungyeol

Sunggyu typed out a response, checked to make sure that Woohyun was still asleep, and then left the room to get ready for bed figuring that he might as well just sleep too since the power was out and there was nothing to do anyway.
After he finished getting ready for bed he went back to the bedroom and go into the bed next to Woohyun.  He looked over at Woohyun and saw that although he was still asleep, he had started to tremble in his sleep.  Sighing Sunggyu scooted over on the bed and pulled Woohyun into his arms so that his head was resting on his chest.  After a few minutes Woohyun stopped trembling again and Sunggyu looked down at him again before sighing again and closing his eyes.

‘When you’re like this it’s hard to believe that you’re the same person as the person you usually are...’

Sorry this chapter is a little shorter than usual i was going to include the myungyeol coffee date into this chapter but it ended up being too long that way so the next chapter will comprise entirely (i think) of myungyeol’s coffee date/night time.

Can anyone guess what song it was that sunggyu sang for woohyun?

I’ll be super impressed if anyone can guess what it is~

So until next (myungyeol filled) chapter my lovely subscribers bye bye ^-^/
