I was gone for a week but now I'm back... I had an introcution week to get to know my future classmates and the city I'll be studying... it was like a little vacation and it was so much fun! but okay... new chapter is up! XD the title says it all...

I saw the doubtful look on her face as Kangin told her to lead me the way back. Was she afraid of the dark or was she afraid of being alone with me? After seconds of silence I couldn’t take her standing there hesitantly any longer.

“Okay we’ll be back quickly!” I took her hand and started walking ahead of her while holding the lantern with my other hand.

“Yah! Wait a second!” I felt her slightly struggling to get out of my grip but I didn’t let her hand go.

Behind me I heard a vague sound of laughter. Kangin and Eunhyuk… no doubt! I could recognize those voices out of millions.
After a minute I started moving slower until I walked next to her. I realized the quietness of the forest was getting more notable than before. All that could be heard now were our footsteps on the thick sandy ground and for me, the uneven beating of my heart.
It suddenly occurred to me that Nayoung was staring at me intently; I started to wonder why but realized after a short second that I was still holding her hand. Quickly I let go and pulled my hand back.

“S-sorry.” I choked out and felt my cheeks slightly burning. Great Park Leeteuk! Now you’ve done it, is there any way to embarrass yourself even more? She doesn’t even like me, although she didn’t seem to dislike this moment.
Then before I could think any further she suddenly took my arm. I was surprised by her respond. Is this an approval sign?

“Leeteuk-ssi…” She started slowly as if she wanted to tell me something important.

My heart was pounding to the level where I could hear the blood rushing through my ears. (apparently this is possibleXD)

Is she going to… confess…?

“How does your phone look like?”

My heart dropped. Of course… I should have known Nayoung better…

“It’s white, but I don’t understand… I haven’t even taken it out of my pocket!”

“Do you think… it fell along the way?” She asked. Gosh, she doesn’t know how innocent she really is… It’s obvious they must have set me up. I know Kangin…

“Yeah, maybe…?” I tried to keep a straight face but couldn’t help the small giggle that escaped my mouth.

“Then we have to search this area too!” She exclaimed and started looking around. I sighed. After seconds she seemed to give up and started walking next to me again.

“Leeteuk-ah… you do it!”

“Huh?”

“I suffer from Nyctalopia just a little.”

“What?”

“Night-blindness”

“UH WHAT~? You didn’t tell me before?! We’re getting to the darker part now you know… and we have only one lantern… How are you going to do this?!”

“Relax… it’s not like I’m handicapped!” She scoffed and looked the other way, annoyed.

“Okay, well at least you have Park Leeteuk to lead you~!” I couldn’t help myself…

“YAH!” She pulled her hand away and started hitting me. The usual Nayoung had come back.

“YOU’RE not leading ME! I’M leading YOU! Just so you know…”

[Nayoung’s POV]

What is that guy even thinking?! I liked him when he was shy just now. But suddenly he starts acting all high and mighty of himself. Seriously, what’s wrong with him?! It’s doesn’t even look like he really wants his cellphone back that much, instead he just walks like nothing’s wrong. What a spoiled…

“Nayoung…” He sighed and laid his arm on my shoulder. “Let’s just walk normally until we’re there alright?

- after a few minutes –

[Leeteuk’s POV]

After minutes of walking, we finally reached the campfire. I looked at my place where I had been sitting and as expected, it was there behind the bole I’d been sitting on.

“How can you just leave it there?! Are you that easy with money, huh?!” She started nagging.

“Yah! Can’t you see?! It’s… –“ I held back. How was I supposed to tell her this? I sighed.

“It’s a conspiracy Nayoung!” (JaeBeom momentXD)

“Hm…” She eyed me suspiciously.

Did nothing come to her mind? Nothing at all…? “They tricked us Nayoung, Eunhyuk was behind me when we were sitting there and he took it out of my pocket so I would forget it here.” I let out in one breath.

“THAT DOESN’T EVEN MAKE SENSE, why would he…-?”

“SO THAT WE WOULD BE TOGETHER ALONE!” I blurted out. Damnit, my mouth was faster than my mind. No better, my mind wasn’t working at all.

She turned beet red and smiled shyly. But before she could respond the clouds suddenly burst open and it started to pour. She started screaming. Quickly I hid my phone and took her arm to drag her away from the open space. As we reached the dry forest that seemed to hold the rain back, the situation hit my funny bone and I couldn’t help but laughing, even though we were soaked from head to waist.
I looked over at a gasping Nayoung as I realized why she had been yelling. The rain had extinguished the candle; our one and only light.

“Leeteuk…” She let out.

I swallowed. “Um… and now?” I pursed my lips together, trying to hold back the still existing urge to crack up again. It wasn’t funny at all though.

“I can’t see anything…” She panicked a little.

“Uh… what do you mean, you can’t see?” I asked

“It’s too dark and I CAN’T SEE!” She repeated.

“Okay, well we can wait a little until your eyes adjust to the darkness…” I sat down against the trunk of a tree and started playing with my cell phone impatiently. While unlocking the “hold” button, I noticed there was a game playing, something with bubbles and colors. , I’m losing? As I was trying to destroy the little bubble blower I didn’t notice Nayoung was talking to me.

“It’s not a matter of adjusting to the dark, there’s just not enough light so my eyes don’t work, it’s called night blindness! Yah! Are you even listening?!”

Suddenly my phone made a beeping sound and gave the warning “Extreme low battery”. My eyes almost popped out. Wait a second, who was playing this game on my phone for so long?

“YAH! Park Leeteuk! Are you hearing me…?”

“HUH?”

“Wow I just have the best idea ever! We might be able to use your cellphone as a light instead…”

Just when I was about to respond the screen turned black.

“Um… no we can’t.”

“What? Why not?”

“Um, the battery is dead.” I muttered and looked up at her apologetically.

“WHAT?! No~” Nayoung let out defeated and settled beside me with a heavy sigh. “You IDIOT!”

“It’s no big dea…-“ I looked over at a sudden sobbing girl. Nayoung was crying. I sat there awkwardly not moving an inch. It’s the first time I see her crying like this. No it’s the first time to ever see a girl crying with so much emotion.

“Um Nayoung, what’s the matter, we can just go back tomorrow morning, right…?” I let out slowly, but she shook her head vigorously and began sobbing even louder between long and loud breaths.

“Hey what’s wrong…?” I asked as I placed my hand on her shoulder.

[Nayoung’s POV]

As much as I tried to hold back the tears that were threatening to come down, I started sniffling and couldn’t stop myself from breaking down. I guess I just realized how much I will miss him when they’re gone. They’ll only be here for one and a half week and all I do is nagging and yelling at him.

“Leeteuk… mianhae…” I choked out through sobs.

“F-for what…?” He asked and I could almost imagine those big set of eyes looking at me cluelessly.

FOR EVERYTHING that I yelled at you before, I wanted to say, but the words wouldn’t come out as I could only cry more and louder.

[Leeteuk’s POV]

She wouldn’t stop and it started frustrating me, was it something wrong that I said? Is she that much upset because she has to spend a night in the open air? Or worse… was she afraid of me?!

“Nayoung…” She wouldn’t respond.

The options I thought about were getting more crazy and absurd. Was she in pain? Was she sick? Was she going to die in a few weeks without having told us? AISH Stop it!

“Nayoung? Nayoung… have you, uh… ever seen an elephant hiding behind a flower?” I tried the last thing I could think of.

She stopped sniffling. “What?”

“I’m asking you, have you seen it?”

“Er… no?” She looked at me dumbfounded and sniffed her nose.

“That’s because he hides well.” I giggled and looked up to see a small smile appear on her face. Then she lifted her hand and hit my leg. “Stop it!” but she started laughing, her shoulders shook intensely, probably from the coldness that was getting more noticeable.

“Stop crying, it doesn’t suit you.” With my thumb I wiped a tear from her cheek and a strand of hair off her face gently. She didn’t say anything as she looked down and started shaking a little.

I took off my jacket and laid it over her shoulders.

[Nayoung’s POV]

“Are you tired? You can um… lie down…” He asked hesitantly. He patted his leg once and discrete then turned his head from embarrassment.

I couldn’t get myself to respond but did what he told and lay down. For the first time I concentrated on my heart and noticed it was racing and beating wildly. There was something gentle and tender in the way he touched me but more striking, something romantic…
