Chapter 12

Danger

I sat back in my chair and looked at my newly cut and colored hair...it's not that bad right? After studying myself for a few more minutes I stood up and thanked my stylists, bowing to each of them before going back to the dorm.

"Guys" I knocked on their doors "I'm back..."

Seeing as everyone was gone, I sat on the couch and stared at the ceiling till I fell asleep. When I came to, I heard familiar voices humming with excitement "Is that hyung? She's so cool looking now!"

"She does not. She just looks like an even bigger dork." I could tell Krystal was probably smiling.

"Hey! We're matching now!" Luna sounded a hundred times more excited than usual.

"Oh my goodness, you kids better let her sleep. Our Amber is finally home, let her sleep a while longer." I heard Victoria scold the others and fell back to sleep.

The next time I woke up, I was surrounded by more voices, more happiness. I rubbed my eyes and saw all the girls running around the dorm doing different things. Some were playing with Sai, I’m pretty sure Taeyeon, Hyoyeon and Vic is cooking, but everyone else? There were too many of them to count.

Jessica was the first person to notice me, as soon as I stood up; she tackled me onto the couch. “AMBER! I miss- I mean, we missed you!” Sai noticed me next and jumped on me and Jessica as soon as she finished talking.

Next thing I know, I’m on the bottom of a dog pile with my dog’s face squished in between Jessica and I. Flashes came from the kitchen and Hyoyeon, Victoria and Taeyeon emerged with a smirk on their faces.

“What did you three do?” I was more afraid than usual.

“Just finished cooking dinner” Taeyeon smiled, the other two nodding their heads in agreement.

“And…?” I waited for one of them to continue.

“That’s it…we finished cooking.”

“Then what’s with those smirks on your faces?”

“Yi-yun, you’ve just been away for so long that you don’t remember how we smile.” Victoria pouted.

I pushed off all of my friends and rolled out to safety “Believe me, I still remember.” I crossed my arms, “So what did you guys do?”

“Pictures...” Taeyeon started.

“…To commemorate your first day in Korea, again!” Hyoyeon laughed.

“Sometimes you guys are just too much” I smiled “But it is good to be home.”

After eating, I helped clean the mess that was our table when I was suddenly confronted by Tiffany and Sunny unnie. “So Amber how was LA?”

“I guess it was okay, boring though. It would’ve been great to have someone around to talk to.” I continued to wipe the table.

Tiffany slapped my back “I talked to you! You have my email remember?”

“Who uses emails to talk to friends nowadays?”

“I don’t know what kind of llama doesn’t know how to use her brain?” She snapped back.

“Apparently this one doesn’t.” I scowled at the mess in Sooyoung and Yoona’s spots.

Before the two of us could go any further, Sunny came in between us “Amber, calm down, you too Tiffany. We didn’t come here to argue.”

“Then what’re you pestering me about?”

“What happened?” Sunny turned to me.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“We had a SMTown concert in LA, we sent tickets to your house, but we never saw you.”

“I was busy.”

“Busy doing what?”

“Just busy, clearing my head, running, working out, practicing for our new song.”

“How did you know you guys have a new song?”

“I was told to get rest until my ankle heals, and then to catch up on all the practices I missed, and learn the new dance to help the girls.”

“Why couldn’t you just come back to Korea then?”

“I don’t know, my friend in LA thinks it’s because someone is suspecting me of being in a relationship and having a bad one with Jessica.”

“Why do they care about Jessica’s ‘relationship’ with you? That’s just one you guys pull for the public.”

“Krystal is Jessica’s little sister, if I have a bad relationship with her older sister for some reason, isn’t that suspicious? Some gossip magazine wanted to publish a story about how me and Krystal were probably in a relationship and Jessica disapproved, which is the reason why she’s so cold to me.”

“Seriously?” Sunny was surprised and stopped asking me questions.

“I hate those types of people, like seriously? We’re only human; can’t we have some part of our lives to ourselves for once? Like what does it matter to them? We’re actually not that exciting.” Tiffany scowled.

“Guys, it’s okay. At least I’m back in one piece.” I patted both of their heads before going back to the kitchen.

The girls stayed over for a few more hours when Seohyun reminded them that they had their own schedules tomorrow so we said our goodbyes. Tiffany was the last one out, blocking Sai from chasing Jessica.

“I’m going to hit the sack, what about you guys?” I yawned.

Sulli answered for everyone and pushed me into my room "In a bit! Go lay down!"

"Alright, calm down I'm going." The moment I stepped foot in my room, Sulli closed the door and left me to my own devices. My eyes traveled to different areas, stopping whenever I noticed it was different. "Geez, have Jessica and Krystal been living here? All of their makeup and shoes are everywhere..." I yawned "…but that's a problem for another day."

In seconds, I was drifting to dreamland; my bed seemed a hundred thousand times more comfortable and smelled a lot more comforting than usual. I didn't think much of the soft noise of footsteps nearby, or the small crack of light coming from the door...

When I woke up, I was extremely hot and stuffy, as if something was sleeping on me. I looked down to see Sulli, Victoria, Luna and Krystal sleeping on top of each other, using my stomach as a base, Sai using my legs as a cushion...

Man is it great to be back.

"Do you guys know when we're going to record for the MV?"

"Most likely once we're done recording all the songs for the album." Victoria stared at me like I was stupid "Don't you ever use your head?"

"I was just curious! Don't get your anger out on me!" I faked my tears.

"Babo." She hit my forehead.

"Please let me live!" I ran towards the camera "Sulli already took my vest, keep her away!"

"Hyung! I just want to shower you with love for all those days you were gone!" I looked back to see her putting it on.

"But I don't want you to!"

I gotta say, standing on stage again after being gone for so long, it's absolutely amazing. The happiness of being back and the excitement of performing again, it's like when we first debuted. The only difference was that we have more confidence and that we won for the very first time!

Once the trophy was handed to me, the girls and I were too shocked to speak, we immediately bowed to the surrounding artists, the tears threatening to fall from my eyes, the MC's showed us a smile "Gwenchana! Gwenchana!" I looked to the girls, hiding their tears from the crowd by hiding behind the flowers and each other.

After the encore, our friends ran onto the stage, tackling us to the ground. "You guys were amazing!"

"Oppa!" A voice rang out from backstage, I pushed off Jonghyun and Key to see Nana, mom and Mr. Im. "Oppa! You were absolutely amazing!"

Nana jumped into my arms "How have you been princess? You grew so much since the last time I saw you!"

"Ugh, oppa, I'm already 16. Of course I grew!" She slapped my arm.

I laughed "At least one part of you didn't change."

"Shut up oppa!"

You know, maybe being gone for a while was worth it...at least I'm back, we're back and better than ever. Watch out world, f(x) is back and just so you know, we're in danger.

“What did you three do?” I was more afraid than usual.

You know, maybe being gone for a while was worth it...at least I'm back, we're back and better than ever. Watch out world, f(x) is back and just so you know, we're in danger.
