“Jieun!” a voice yelled at the top of there lungs

I turned around and blinked “wae?”

Hana panted as she grabbed onto my arm for support “you-you going to audition for-for the play?”

I blinked and then giggled “is that why you ran all the way over here?”

She straighten up with a frown “I wanted to know fast”

I smiled and nodded “yeah, am pretty sure your already casted?”

She punched my arm playfully “you know it”

I laughed as we started walking into the school chatting. A few people bowed and waved as we came in. I just smiled and bowed back, it was probably because I was with Hana. It was the first day of our freshman year, also a typical first day in this school. Lots of activities to sign for. We were more than excited to say the least. We were finally going to start our high school lives. I smiled to myself; this is going to be amazing.

“Oaf” I said as I collapsed with someone

“Ah! Am sorry!” a guy squeaked and bowed

“It’s okay, are you well?” I asked looking him over

“Neh, am sorry!” he squeaked and ran away

I blinked “okay…?

Hana snorted “one of your admirers”

I sighed as I sat down in my seat “don’t start”

She shrugged innocently “am just saying~”

I giggle quietly as the teacher came in.

“Good morning class!”

“Morning” most kids grumbled or some cheered.

Mr. Choi chuckled “I see you’re excited. Well let’s just start with roll call”

“ Lee minhee?”

“Here!”

“Yang Seungho?”

“Here!”

“Lee hana?”

“Here!” Hana smiled

“Kwon Jieun?”

“Here” I said quietly

Hana nudged me and whispered as the teacher kept calling attendance “Yah, are you okay?”

I nodded “yep, just kind of nervous about the audition”

She snorted “you got to be kidding me?”

“What?” I asked confused

“You’re going to do great! You always do” she nudged me grinning

I sighed “yeah but-“

“No buts!” she waged her finger “You’re going to be awesome and that’s final! Fighting?”

I smiled brightly “yeah! Fighting!”

“Okay class, I think that’s every-“

*Bang!* “am sorry am late!” a boy with black hair came in panting

The teacher raised an eyebrow “and you are?”

He straighten up with a smile “I’m Im Jae bum sir”

Mr. Choi looked at the list and tapped his pen “ah! Here you are. I hope you won’t be late next time mister Im. Now go take a sit”

He bowed “yes sir”

Mr. Choi cleared his throat “Well since it’s the first day you can all just get to know each other. The teachers have a meeting this morning to settle freshmen matters. Please remain in the classroom”

“neh!” the class yelled and then started talking among themselves

I turned to Hana as she started talking about the play. Seoul arts high school was a popular school filled with talented people, whether it was singing, dancing, acting or arts.  It was the place to be if you wanted to be somebody. It was quite a competitive school though. People here were friends until exams or competitions came. That’s when the wars break out. Even though there were nice enough people that encouraged each other or helped one another. But then there were the other people. The ones that would stab you in the back just to get a shoot to shine.

“So, were going right at lunch hour to audition”

I snapped out of my thoughts “huh?”

She sighed and bumped my forehead “aigoo, stop spacing out”

I smiled sheepishly “mianhe, what did you say?”

“Audition at lunch!” she said desperate “got it?”

I laughed “got it”

“Jieun-shi!”

I turned around with a smile “neh?”

“You’re going to audition for the play?” a student named Michael asked. He was a transfer student.

“Of course she is!” another student named Minah snorted

I nodded “Are you?”

He beamed proudly “neh, am pumped!!”
