The Spur of The Moment and The Interruption

The Unpredictable Truth

Irresistible Lips by BtoB

You stared at the text that was displayed on your LED screen.

From: Daehyun AKA Masked Boy

Hey, are you busy today?

For the past week, the members of B.A.P gotten closer to you as the time passed. You found yourself exchanging numbers and promising to hang out with each other. You got along with everyone except for Daehyun. Every time you attempted to talk to him, he would uncomfortably grunt or look away. It would usually be the maknaes texting you but here was a text from the quiet and mysterious being.

To: Daehyun AKA Masked Boy

Err... No. Why?

Having no recent experience about friendship, you were oblivious as to why in the world Daehyun would ask you that. And out of all six boys, Daehyun was the one to text you today. The last time you were involved in a friendship was probably when your late partner was still alive.

From: Daehyun AKA Masked Boy

My members wanna hang out.

Your eyebrows furrowed. You didn’t mind hanging out with them but why of all people, did Daehyun text you? Why not any of the other blonde boys?

To: Daehyun AKA Masked Boy

Sure? Text me the address, I’ll meet you guys there. Um... Bye?

“What’d she say Daehyunnie?” Yongguk ruffled his hair, much to Daehyun’s dismay. Daehyun grunted, shoving the phone into the leader’s face. Himchan, who was reading from behind, grinned like he won a trophy, “Assa! Lets hurry up!”

Yongguk shook his head with a scoff, “That boy has never been more excited in his life.”

Daehyun couldn’t help but unconsciously get excited to see you again. He never actually talked to you before, you’ve never heard his voice. Every time he saw you, his hands couldn’t help but get clammy and his body always quavered at the sight of you, in a good way.

Moments later, you saw their figures near the café you were supposed to meet them at. Zelo waved you over and you jogged up to them.

“What the-“ Himchan did a double take, “Why do you look so much taller today?!”

You held up your foot, “Heels.”

“Noona, why are you wearing heels?” Zelo looked at you with big, innocent eyes. Even when you were wearing heel, he was still at least an inch taller.

“I dunno,” you shrugged, “I just felt like it.”

“I just realized how intriguing your hair color looks on you.” Himchan winked. Ever since you became ‘friends’ with B.A.P, Himchan has been taking every chance to flirt with you.

It was kind of peculiar considering how you two were practically at each other’s necks when you first met.

“Fudge off.” You snarled while shoving his puckered lips into the other direction.

Daehyun smacked him upside the head, ignoring the glare from the older boy.

“Alright, so where are we going today?” You curiously asked.

“Where do you want to go?”

You tapped your chin in thought, “Hm..”

Coincidentally, you guys passed an arcade, “How about we go in here? Might as well...” You suggested.

“Sure! Hyung, I’ll verse you in the racing game!”

“You’re on.”

The oldest and youngest of the group raced off, fighting about who gets what bike. Everyone ran off to their own special game, which left Daehyun and you. An awkward silence took over both of you as you slowly headed over to Dance Dance Revolution.

You looked at Daehyun and pointed to the machine, “You wanna play?”

Daehyun shrugged but got on anyways. You picked the hardest song there was and the screen started counting off, “3, 2, 1 GO!”

The beat immediately started up and you quickly caught on. Your legs were quick and hit every note perfectly and as for Daehyun, he was surprisingly doing just as well as you were.

Throughout the entire song, you gained a crowd but either one of you were paying attention to the bystanders. It was as if you were in your own world, competing each other for a dance game.

By the time the song ended, both of you were doubling over, panting. The score came out and unfortunately, it came out as a tie. “What the...” You whispered in disbelief.

Tying your hair up, you grinned at him, “Good game.”

Daehyun couldn’t help but smile behind his suffocating mask. Truth be told, he only wore that covering to hide his face from outsiders... like you. Honestly, there were times where he thought about taking it off. At times, he thought it was pointless hiding from you. What harm could you possibly do by seeing his face? Oh he didn’t know but you could’ve down a lot.

Hours passed and eventually, your day with the boys ended. Each and every day you hung out with them, you learned more and more interesting facts about them. It almost made you sad thinking that you had to leave them one day... almost.

--

The next day was your typical morning; getting up early and having extra time to get ready for school.

As usual, girls gossiped about the surgery they assumed you had and boys were drooling over you. Whispers like, “Omo! It’s the Ice Princess!”, “She’s fake.”, “C’mon. Don’t be a wimp and just ask her out already.”, “Stupid thinks she’s all that now.”

It took almost every bit of energy to prevent yourself from giving them a broken nose. Can’t let them know you’re a secret agent, can we?

You met up with the boys at lunch but Daehyun wasn’t there. “Where’s the quiet one?”

Zelo looked up from his food, “Daehyun hyung? He’s sick at home.” Zelo snickered at the thought of his hyung being lonely at home.

“Really?” You blinked, “Are you guys gonna go home after school to take care of him?”

“____, Daehyun’s a big boy. He can take care of himself.” Himchan put his around over your shoulder, “Why don’t we hang out after school? Just the two of us.” He winked.

“How about, no?” You shooed his hand away.

“We’re going to our territories, can’t let other groups think we haven’t been taking care of our areas.”

*If they’re not going back home, that means Daehyun’s sick at home alone.*

You softened at the thought of the tough gangster stuck at home, being ill. When the bell rang, you hopped over the gates again and made your way to Busan.

DING DONG!

There was shuffling behind the door, followed by a cough. Daehyun opened the door slightly and his eyes widened when he saw that it was only you in front of the place. (A/N: It’s like their house)

“Are you gonna let me in? It’s kinda cold out here...” You trailed off.

Daehyun stood up straighter and let you inside the door. When he closed the door and turned around, you took notice of his bloodshot eyes and red nose. Without another word, you made your way into the kitchen and looked in all the cabinets. You checked the fridge for any ingredients but all you found was a fridge full of beer. The cabinets were stuffed with ramen and junk food.

*I’m so glad I bought stuff before I came.*

You put the plastic bag on the counter and took out all the food you bought. You turned the stove on and started to make your famous chicken soup.

Daehyun, who was standing by the doorway, was gazing at your figure from behind. He didn’t know what you were doing but he had a clue. No one came to his place just to take care of him, not even B.A.P.

A few minutes after, the chicken soup was done. “Hot!” You repeated with the bowl in your hands. You sheepishly smiled at Daehyun before getting a metal spoon from the drawers.

You took a seat across from Daehyun and looked at him with expectant eyes, “Eat.” You nudged.

Daehyun didn’t stop looking at you and your eyes dimmed, “Oh yeah, you probably don’t like people looking at you eat. I won’t look, you should probably finish before it gets cold.”

You looked down, occupying yourself with your phone.

“Thanks...”

Your head shot up, not aware of this other voice. You were sure there was no one else in the house and Daehyun didn’t talk. At least not around you.

Daehyun was staring at you, unaffected at the fact that he spoke for the first time, in front of you.

“Was that you?”

“Yeah.”

Okay, you were about to fall off your chair from hearing his voice. That was the first time you’ve ever heard his voice and it was unexpectedly smooth and soothing.

“You know you’re talking to me...”

“I know.”

“Why?”

“...”

Silence.

Did he not know why or did he not want to talk about it?

Instead, he cleared his throat and took of his mask to eat.

You were shocked as you were able to see his whole face. *Why would he hide his face?*

He had a sharp jawline and he had incredibly sharp features. His voice was almost angelic and you just simply saw nothing to hide for.

He looked up and you looked away. It felt like you just got caught doing something bad.

Hell, why would looking at someone be bad though? For Heaven’s sake, you kill for a living.

Daehyun went back to eating, trying to hide the smile that was growing on his face. Daehyun cleaned up the bowl and you offered to wash the dishes. You turned around and saw him standing there, “Thank you...” He said awkardly and rubbed the back of his neck.

You laughed and Daehyun’s heart sub consciously started beating faster. Your laugh was like the sound of an angel, to him.

“Can you tell me why you decided to talk to me today?... If it’s not too personal.” You quickly added.

Daehyun shifted in his seat, “Well...”

Just as he opened his mouth to speak, the door busted open.

Daehyun quickly clasped his mask back over his mouth and scooted away from you.

*.* You cursed.

LOL, I dyed my hair red. Coincidence much? xD Only the ends though, I like it :P It still smells like dye. Red velvet red lol. OMG. I noticed how in the first chapter I wrote that Zelo had pink hair... ARGH. I keep changing and forgetting. Just ignore that part, huh? >.< How long does dye last? And how much does it fade when you take a shower?

Chapter 26: I really enjoyed this story and the plot was brilliant XD

I think I'm like a year and a half late for this story but it was definitely worth reading! The ending wasn't bad at all and I honestly liked the fact that the fluffy parts weren't overdone~ This story was really intriguing and enjoyable to read. Great job! ^^
