One afternoon, there was a surprise announcement of a mile run.

“Why is Mr. Lee making us run again?!” Nana groaned as the 3 of you headed to the lockers. “It’s because he’s a 40 year old . He’s taking out his solo life on us.” Hana mumbled. You giggled.

“I need to use the restroom.” Nana said. “Me, too.” Hana piped up.

“I’ll go change first.” You said. They waved and ran off.

You went into the locker room. To your surprise, you were the first one. But a guy was in there. You froze, “Um, excuse me?” He whirled around and dropped the water bottle. Your locker was wide open.

Your eyes widened, “N-niel? What are you…?” Your gaze shifted downwards to the water bottle. Everything clicked into place.

“Niel?” You whispered. *. I got caught.* He ran away.

You paused then ran after him, “Niel!” You grabbed his arm in the hallway. He didn’t turn around. You peered at him, “Niel…was it you all along? You were the mysterious person that put a water bottle in my locker before every mile run? For the past…4 years?” You whispered the last part.

*I can’t back out now.* He faced you and nodded.

“W-why would you do that?” You asked.

“Because,” Niel looked straight into your eyes, “I like you.”

“Like…me?” You asked.

“I’ve been in love with you for 4 years.” Niel confessed straight out.
