Chapter 4

 

 

Kyuhyun was watching some of their servants working at the construction for the extension of his palace; he was counting them and notice that someone is missing

 

“Where is Kangin?”

 

Kyuhyun asked the head of the servant who bows at him before answering his question

 

“Your Highness, Kangin went home today”

 

Kyuhyun raised his eyebrow

 

“Our Queen was the one who send him home”

 

“I see. Continue working and I want it fast”

 

“Yes your Highness”

 

Kyuhyun went inside and look for his wife. He went at the throne room but she’s not inside so he went at their room and find his beautiful wife sitting at the balcony while reading a book. He went at the balcony and kissed her

 

“We need to talk my Queen”

 

“About what?”

 

Sungmin answered him while reading the book; Kyuhyun grab it away from her hand and put it on the table made out of marble

 

“Yes my dear King?”

 

Kyuhyun kneel down in front of her and hold her hands

 

“Tell me the reason why did you let Kangin go home”

 

“He needs to go home my King”

 

“He’s my servant and he’s work is not yet done”

 

“I know”

 

“Then why did you let him go?”

 

Sungmin hold her husband’s face between her hands and brush her fingers on his lips

 

“My King, he’s sick and he needs to take a rest”

 

“I don’t care, I’m paying for him and he’s a servant in our palace”

 

“He needs to have rest for working nonstop; he’s working for four days without having a rest and enough sleep and his older daughter will be celebrating her birthday tomorrow and he needs to be there”

 

Kyuhyun frowns at her

 

“I told you not to decide without my permission”

 

“But my King”

 

“Are you having an affair with him?”

 

“What?”

 

“Now I’m starting to believe one of Queen Eunhyuk’s servants; she told me that you’re having an affair with other man”

 

Sungmin slaps him

 

“Am I the one who’s having an affair or you with that Queen?”

 

Kyuhyun smirk

 

“Don’t start it my dear Queen, I can cut your tongue for making fake stories”

 

Kyuhyun stares at her

 

“Don’t you ever oppose my decision again or you’ll see what will happen to you”

 

“I have the right to oppose you and make decision without your permission because I’m the Queen of the palace”

 

“But I’m the King and you don’t forget that, do I make myself clear my Queen?”

 

Sungmin stand up

 

“I hope you realize what you’re doing. You’re not being fair with the people you govern especially to the lower class people”

 

“That’s why they are called lower class because they are bound to follow me”

 

“But they’re also human don’t you forget that”

 

“It’s not my fault if they are born poor”

 

Sungmin stares at his husband with teary eyes

 

“What kind of brain do you have my King? You completely change and you’re no longer the Cho Kyuhyun that I loved before”

 

“Things change my dear Queen especially my love for you. Be thankful that I didn’t throw you at the street for killing her”

 

“I didn’t kill our daughter, it was an accident”

 

“Because you didn’t take care of yourself that’s why the baby died on your womb”

 

“Stop it! You don’t know what really happen!”

 

Kyuhyun stand up and walk towards her; he cupped her face and hold her chin tight

 

“I will never love you again the way that I love you before Lee Sungmin. I’ll throw you out of this palace after the wedding of Hangeng to Princess Mimi”

 

“Your son will never marry that bastard Princess!”

 

“Yes he will”

 

“I won’t allow it to happen; you can’t control your sons’ life and you can’t just let them marry the women you want for them. I won’t let that happen as long as I’m living”

 

“Then let’s see who will win”

 

Sungmin push him away

 

“Someday you’ll regret being so selfish my dear King. I’ll watch your sons’ swordsmanship lesson, I hate seeing your face”

 

Sungmin went out of the room leaving her husband

Donghae and Eunhyuk were watching Henry happily as he plays violin

 

“Hae our son is really the best”

 

“Yes my Queen”

 

“By the way we need to go at Cho Palace tomorrow for dinner because we’re going to talk about the engagement of our daughter to Prince Hangeng”

 

Donghae look at her

 

“I’m not sure about this engagement thing honey”

 

“Royalties are for royalties and Mimi is a Princess and Hangeng is a Prince so it will be great if they end up together and Mimi loves him so much”

 

“But did you ever ask Prince Hangeng if he loves our daughter?”

 

Eunhyuk shook her head

 

“That will be a great problem honey”

 

“If they are already married he will learn to love our Mimi”

 

“Are you not concern about your daughter? Fine, she loves him and wants to marry him but what will happen after the wedding? She will just feel miserable if Prince Hangeng won’t love her”

 

“But he will learn to love her”

 

“Honey it’s hard to teach the heart to love someone”

 

“Aish! If you don’t want to go with us tomorrow then it’s fine. King Kyuhyun and I will pursue this engagement and wedding no matter what happen. Mimi is for Prince Hangeng and he is for Mimi”

 

Donghae ignores her as he claps his hands for Henry. He smile at his parents

 

“How was it dad?”

 

“Well done son, you’re really the best”

 

Donghae smile, Henry run towards him and give him a hug, Donghae smile and ruffles his hair

 

“That’s my boy”

 

Henry smile; Mimi went downstairs with her nannies

 

“Mom are you sure that my engagement with Prince Geng is already fix?”

 

“Of course dear”

 

Mimi smiles brightly

 

“I’m going to be the happiest woman if he will be my husband”

 

Mimi giggles happily; Henry was staring at his sister

 

“Why are you looking at me?”

 

“Prince Hangeng will be very unfortunate if he end up marrying you”

 

Henry smile; Mimi stares at him seriously then grab one of the figurines and throw it on him

 

“YAH! Mimi stop it!”

 

“Dad he’s the one who start it”

 

“But you don’t need to throw objects like that. Good thing it didn’t hit him”

 

“Aish!”

 

Mimi sits beside her mother and hugs her

 

“Mom that mochie is pissing me off again and dad is always favoring him”

 

Eunhyuk looks at Henry

 

“Henry please stop pissing your sister so there won’t be a fight”

 

Donghae stand and look at his wife

 

“You don’t know how to discipline your daughter that’s why she’s a brat”

 

“Excuse me my King, Henry was the one who start it”

 

“I know but Mimi shouldn’t do that. What will happen to her brother if that figurine hit him?”

 

“Then we shall call a medical person to treat him”

 

Donghae clench his fist as he controls his temper

 

“What kind of mother are you? You only know how to socialize and be proud of your richness but you can’t even take care of your children!”

 

“What the hell is that?”

 

Eunhyuk and Donghae start fighting with each other. Henry stands up and shouts

 

“STOP IT!”

 

Henry shouts at them

 

“Ok mom I’m wrong…mianhae so stop fighting with dad”

 

He looks at his sister who is frowning at him

 

“Mianhae for pissing you off, happy?”

 

He grabs his violin and went upstairs. Donghae follows him leaving his wife and daughter

 

“It’s ok Mimi, your stupid dad always spoil that childish brother of yours”

 

“I hate them”

 

Eunhyuk hold her cheek and smile

 

“Let’s go to your room and talk about your engagement with Prince Hangeng”

 

“That’s a great idea mom”

 

Mimi smile brightly and hold her mother’s hand and they went in her room together

 

 

 

 

 

Heechul close the window at their room as the rain start to pour hard. She went outside to look for her mother and sister and was shock to see her sister rubbing the floor as waters start to go inside their house

 

“Why is it flooding?”

 

Teukie stares at her older daughter sadly

 

“Because our roof is not that good that’s why the water came in when it rains”

 

Heechul look at the roof; the water keeps on coming because their roof is made up of wood. She watches the water that is falling hard on the pails. Ryeowook walk towards the pail and carries it with her hands

 

“No sweetheart put it down, it’s heavy; just let me carry it”

 

“It’s ok Umma, it’s not good for you to carry heavy things”

 

Heechul look at Ryeowook who tries her best to carry the pail full of water. Heechul watch her sadly then she run to their room and remove her slippers then go back and run towards her sister to help her carry the pail as they throw the water outside

 

“Thanks Unnie, that was so heavy”

 

Ryeowook takes a deep breath

 

“Don’t carry things that are bigger and heavier than you arasso”

 

“But I don’t want Umma to carry it because it’s heavy and it will be hard for her”

 

“You suppose to call me so I can help you”

 

“I don’t want to disturb you Unnie”

 

Heechul smile and ruffles her hair

 

“It’s ok, you call me whenever you need my help because I’m your big sister and I’ll rescue you”

 

Ryeowook smile and hug her

 

“You’re really sweet. Let’s go inside and help Umma”

The rain is still pouring hard but Teukie manage to drain the water inside their house; Ryeowook and Heechul help her and they put a lot of pails inside to catch the falling water. Kangin arrive soaking wet and look at his wife and daughters who are also soaking wet because of cleaning the house. Kangin look at the roof then stare at them sadly.

 

“Mianhae”

 

Kangin told Teukie who smile at him. He collapsed on Teukie’s arms

 

“OMO you’ve got a high fever”

 

Teukie help him as they walk in their room

 

“Chullie sweetheart please bring basin with water and a towel and please get the herbal medicine in the cabinet”

 

Heechul nods; she look at Ryeowook whose eyes are teary

 

“Who is that man?”

 

“He is Appa”

 

Heechul look at her full of amaze

 

“Now I understand why you’re so beautiful because you’ve got a very beautiful mother and such handsome and masculine father. I suddenly remember my dad, you know he got 6 packed abs and that’s awesome”

 

“You’re insane; I don’t know what you’re talking about”

 

Heechul just smile at her while preparing the basin. She looks at her sister again

 

“Beautiful girl, what is your name again?”

 

“How can you forget my name Unnie? I’m Ryeowook”

 

“Mianhae, anyway Wookie can you please open my Channel bag? The one that I’m carrying on my shoulder before; there is a bottle inside please get it for me”

 

“Ok Unnie”

 

Ryeowook run to their room to get the bottle that her sister asked her to get. Heechul went inside her parents’ room and hand Teukie the basin and towel. Ryeowook came in holding the bottle full of medicine

 

“Chullie sweetheart where is the herbal medicine?”

 

Heechul get her medicine bottle on Ryeowook’s hand and give one tablet to Teukie

 

“What is this thing sweetheart?”

 

“That’s medicine Umma it is very effective than those herbal medicines that you have here”

 

Kangin look at his wife who is staring at Heechul blankly

 

“Are you sure about this sweetheart?”

 

Kangin ask her

 

“Of course, my mom always gives me that medicine every time I have a fever and I also have medicine for headache, cough, colds and body pain in here”

 

“But sweetheart I never give you those kind of medicine whenever you’re sick”

 

“Just trust me Umma, that’s effective and of course I’m not going to kill my father”

 

Kangin flash a weak smile and drink it

 

“Thanks Chullie sweetheart”

 

“You take a good rest Appa so Umma won’t be worried too much”

 

Kangin nods weakly; Teukie stares at her daughters and give them towels

 

“Both of you need to take a bath and change clothes so you won’t catch cold”

 

“Yes Umma”

 

Heechul smile and drag her sister inside their room

 

“I think we need to take a bath together”

 

Heechul frown when she notice that her sister is not listening; Ryeowook was busy looking at the cabinet for her clothes and her sister’s clothes

 

“Wookie!”

 

Ryeowook turn around and face her

 

“Are you listening?”

 

“Huh?”

 

Ryeowook walk towards her and give her the old fashioned dress

 

“What is this?”

 

“Your clothes Unnie”

 

Heechul smells it

 

“You call this a cloth? It smells like a rag and I don’t want to wear that ugly cloth”

 

“But”

 

Heechul throws it back inside the cabinet and grab Ryeowook’s cloth away from her hands and throw it inside the cabinet

 

“You’re not going to wear ugly clothes like that anymore”

 

“But Unnie those are my clothes”

 

Heechul hold her sister’s face

 

“Let’s take a bath ok”

 

“Together?”

 

Heechul nod

 

“Come on don’t be shy, I’m your sister and we’re both girls”

 

“Ok”

 

Heechul get her bag of toiletries and drags her sister inside

 

“Unnie what are those things?”

 

Ryeowook stares at her sister who is busy preparing the soap, shampoo, conditioner, milk bath, shower gel, perfume bath, facial soap and scrub, toothpaste and of course their toothbrush

 

“This will enhance your beauty my dear pretty sister”

 

Heechul smile at her

 

“You take a sit and I’ll teach you how to wash yourself”

 

“But”

 

“Just trust me”

 

Ryeowook follows her sister and sit on the chair; Heechul grabs her chair and sit

 

“I think I should buy a bathtub for you and Umma”

 

“But that thing is expensive; we don’t have money for that”

 

“But I have money for that”

 

“Huh?”

 

“Never mind”

 

Heechul grabs her expensive shampoo and pour it on Ryeowook’s hair

 

“This is a shampoo; it will make your hair shiny, beautiful and smells good”

 

Ryeowook nods happily while Heechul wash her hair gently

 

“Then this is a conditioner which will enhance the softness of your hair. You need to use the shampoo every time that you’re going to take a bath then always put the conditioner after rinsing the shampoo off your hair, get it?”

 

“Yes Unnie”

 

After rinsing her sister’s hair, Heechul grabs her milk bath

 

“It’s much better if you use bathtub when using this but since we don’t have bathtub let’s just pour it on your body then you need to use a body scrub to clean your skin”

 

She scrub her skin gently, Ryeowook was laughing while Heechul scrubs her body

 

“Unnie you’re tickling me”

 

“Shhh just bear with it ok”

 

After rinsing her body with water, she grabs the soap and gently rubs it on Ryeowook’s body

 

“The one that I used awhile ago is a milk bath now I’m using the soap to clean your body then after rinsing with water we will apply the shower gel”

 

Heechul pour water on her body then apply the shower gel on Ryeowook’s body

 

“It smells so nice Unnie”

 

Heechul smile at her. She was watching Ryeowook happily while she’s holding the bottle of shower gel and smelling it happily

 

“Are you happy dear?”

 

“Yes Unnie, thank you”

 

“No problem. You need to be vain and concern on your looks all the time so that you’ll always look the best”

 

Ryeowook giggles happily. Heechul rinse her with water then poor the perfume bath all over her body

 

“This will make you smells so nice all throughout the day”

 

Ryeowook smells the bottle and smile at her sister

 

“Unnie can I have this one?”

 

“Of course, I have a lot of that in my bag. You can use it anytime”

 

“Thanks”

 

“You’re welcome”

 

After washing her sister’s body; she gives him the facial soap, facial scrub and the tea tree oil

 

“You will wash your face with this every time you will take a bath, when you will wash away your make up and before you sleep”

 

“What’s that for?”

 

“To avoid pimples and some sort of skin disease”

 

“Was it safe?”

 

“Of course, I’m not going to give you something that can harm you”

 

After washing her face; Ryeowook get her toothbrush and brushes her teeth happily

 

“Now you’re done”

 

“Thanks Unnie”

 

Ryeowook smile

 

“It’s your turn; I’ll wash you and tell me if I get everything that you just taught me”

 

“No problem”

 

Ryeowook start bathing her sister the way she bathe her. They were enjoying their time together; Ryeowook bathe her sister while she teaches her some beauty tips and some history about the world. After taking a bath, they return to their room; Heechul grabs a haltered white summer dress in her luggage and gives it to her sister

 

“Wear it”

 

“But Unnie”

 

“Just follow me; I know what I’m doing”

 

Ryeowook follows her; she wears the dress and look at Heechul shyly

 

“OMO it looks good on you but I think there’s something wrong”

 

Heechul stare on her very carefully

 

“I know, you don’t have any bra. I almost forget that your dress have foams that’s why you don’t need to wear any bra”

 

Heechul gets her black bra in her luggage and give it to her

 

“Wear it dear”

 

Ryeowook stare on it blankly

 

“You need to wear that ok”

 

“What is this thing Unnie?”

 

“It is an undergarment that will cover your lovely s and will protect it from boys”

 

“What?”

 

Heechul walk towards her

 

“How do I wear this thing?”

 

“Take your clothes off, I’ll teach you how”

 

Ryeowook follow her sister. Heechul stand behind her while holding the bra

 

“You put the foam on your s then wear the strap then locked the hook. Remember dear don’t let the boys removes the hook or you’ll be pregnant”

 

Ryeowook stare at her with wide eyes open

 

“Now you wear your clothes again and sit on the bed. I’ll just get dressed then I’ll go back to you”

 

Heechul wears a black silk short exposing her beautiful legs then wear a white sleeveless top that fit her best revealing her beautiful figure. She looks at Ryeowook and smile

 

“Wow, it’s good that my clothes fit you though I’m much taller than you. I hope my shoes and slippers will also fit on your foot”

 

Heechul grabs her yellow havaianas slippers and let her wear it

 

“OMO, it’s a bit big for you”

 

She grabs her red ipanema slippers which are much smaller than the other one

 

“Now I can breathe because it fits you. I’ll give it to you”

 

“Thanks Unnie”

 

Heechul combs Ryeowook’s hair and put some make-up on her face and lip gloss on her lips. She sprays her perfume on her body and grabs the mirror and gives it to her sister. Ryeowook stare on the mirror blankly

 

“I knew it you’re really beautiful and much beautiful wearing make-up”

 

Ryeowook look at Heechul and smile

 

“Unnie I love your crayons”

 

“This is not crayons. It’s make-up, this is a lipstick the one that I apply on your lips awhile ago is lip gloss then this is a lip balm to prevent your lips from chapping”

 

Ryeowook hug Heechul tight

 

“I love you Unnie”

 

“I love you too dear”

 

Heechul smile while staring at her sister

 

“You’ll be the most beautiful and best woman that will live in this era”

 

 

 

 

*CHO PALACE*

 

 

Sungmin was inside her older son’s study room together with her younger son

 

“Your music teacher told me that you’re doing great in your lessons”

 

Sungmin smile at her son

 

“But you also need to do well in your swordsmanship class; you need to learn a lot of swords technique just like your brother”

 

Sungmin’s smile suddenly vanished when she realize that her younger son is not listening to her. He’s staring at the wall blankly

 

“Prince Yesung”

 

Yesung ignores his mother

 

“Sweetheart”

 

Sungmin hold his face to catch his attention

 

“Is there something wrong?”

 

Yesung stares at his mother

 

“Was it wrong to love someone who doesn’t belong to our society?”

 

Sungmin smile at him

 

“Of course not sweetheart”

 

Yesung lean his head on her mother’s chest; Sungmin hugs her son

 

“You’re free to love the girl that you like”

 

“But Appa wants me to marry Krytal, I don’t love her Umma and I don’t want to be like Hyung who is bound to marry that evil Princess. I just don’t get it why would he marry a girl that he doesn’t love?”

 

Sungmin fell silent

 

“I feel so sorry for Hyung and of course for me; Appa is so selfish, Umma please do something”

 

“I’ll try my best sweetheart”

 

Sungmin kissed his forehead

 

“I always want you and your brother to be happy and love the right girl and the girl that you like and not the girl that your father wants for you. Just remember sweetheart that loving someone requires no boundary and love will conquers all. This is your life so choose the path that you want and not the path that other people wants for you”

 

Sungmin smile

 

“Don’t be afraid to love her and fight for her. I’m always here to support you and your brother”

Hangeng went inside his study room and smile upon seeing his mother and younger brother

 

“Good evening Umma and Sungie”

 

He walks towards Sungmin and give his mother a sweet kiss on her forehead

 

“You guys just arrive?”

 

Hangeng nods and sit on his chair

 

“You must join us next time”

 

Sungmin shook her head

 

“I can’t stand seeing Queen Eunhyuk and her daughter”

 

“Queen Eunhyuk is your best friend right?”

 

Hangeng gets his quill and a piece of paper and start writing

 

“I don’t consider her as my best friend anymore”

 

“What really happen between the two of you?”

 

Yesung ask his mother curiously

 

“It’s nothing sweetheart”

 

Sungmin look at her older son

 

“Sweetheart what happen awhile ago?”

 

“Well we just talk about the betrothal and the wedding day and the unison of the Cho and Lee Palace”

 

Hangeng answers his mother without looking at her

 

“Sweetheart please look at me”

 

Hangeng stop writing and stare at his mother

 

“You don’t need to do this”

 

“Do what?”

 

“You don’t need to marry that evil Princess”

 

Yesung nods in agreement to his mother

 

“Umma I’m the eldest”

 

“But it doesn’t mean that you need to marry the girl that you don’t love”

Hangeng hold his mother’s hand and smile at her

Heechul and Ryeowook were sitting on the bed together; Heechul was combing her sister’s hair while listening to her as she reads a book. Heechul was actually teaching her sister how to read and write

 

“See, I told you that were easy”

 

“I can’t believe that I can learn how to read and write in an instant”

 

“Because you’re smart”

 

Heechul gets a box and opens it

 

“Wow! Where did you get those clips Unnie?”

 

“These are all mine”

 

Ryeowook stares at Heechul’s hair clips

 

“It was so lovely”

 

Heechul get the butterfly Swarovski hair clip and put it on Ryeowook’s lovely long hair

 

“It suites you very well”

 

Ryeowook look at the mirror and smile

 

“It’s so beautiful”

 

“Like it?”

 

Ryeowook nods happily

 

“Then I’ll give that to you”

 

“For real?”

 

“Yes dear and all of this are yours”

 

“But Unnie that’s all yours”

 

“It’s ok, you’re my sister that’s why I’m giving this to you and please take care of it because those clips are really expensive”

 

Ryeowook hugs her tight

 

“Thanks Unnie”

 

“I’m happy whenever I see you happy”

 

Heechul’s smile suddenly vanished when she heard someone singing outside

 

“Do you hear it? Someone is singing outside and his voice is very lovely”

 

Ryeowook stares at her sister

 

“Oh my gosh”

“He can’t be here right now”

Heechul was shock when someone climbs up on the window of their room and went inside their room. She stares at the young man who is wearing black clothes with a black cloak holding a red rose on his hand. He smiles at them

 

“Who are you?”

 

Heechul throws him a pillow

 

“You’re a robber. I’m going to call Appa”

 

Heechul jump off the bed but Ryeowook stops her to go outside

 

“Wookie let go of me that man wants to rob us”

 

“No! He’s innocent”

 

“Innocent?”

 

The young man clears his throat and speaks

 

“Hi Noona”

 

Heechul stares at him blankly

 

“I’m just here to visit my Juliet”

 

“Juliet?”

 

“It’s your sister”

 

Heechul looks at her sister who is blushing really hard while looking at the handsome young man

 

“You better go home now my Prince”

 

He walks towards her ignoring the weird glance of Heechul

 

“I’m here to visit you my Princess”

 

He kissed her hand and put the red rose on her right ear

 

“Our Highness must be looking for you now; you should not be wandering here at this hour, your father’s soldiers might catch you and our King will punish you. Please go home now”

 

“Just let me stay for a minute”

 

Ryeowook shook her head; Heechul taps his shoulder, the young man smile at her

 

“Hey are you here to abduct my sister?”

 

“No Noona, I just want to see her and I’m here to visit her”

 

Heechul stares at her wrist watch

 

“And you think that it’s the right time to visit? It’s pretty late ok so go home now robber or I’ll shout so Appa will drag you out of our house”

 

The young man smiles at her

 

“Are you not really a robber?”

 

He shook his head

 

“You’re not going to abduct my sister?”

 

He shook his head again

 

“Then why do you need to enter the window and not the door?”

 

“I can’t; nobody knows that I visit your sister every night”

 

“But you’re not here yesterday”

 

“I came here but my Princess is not here”

 

“Because we sleep with Umma”

 

“I think I came at a wrong time, I thought you’re already sleeping and it’s unfortunate that you caught us”

 

Heechul stares at Ryeowook but she turn her eyes away from her

 

“So this is some kind of a forbidden love?”

 

“Yes”

 

The young man stares at Ryeowook

 

“I’ll be back tomorrow night”

 

“You don’t have to do it”

 

“Of course I will do it my dear Princess”

 

“But”

 

The young man holds her lips

 

“I’ll be back for you my dear Princess. I love you and will always love you”

 

Ryeowook just nod at him

 

“You sleep tight; I’ll see you in my dreams”

 

“Ok, please take care on your way home my Prince”

 

He kissed her lips and smile at Heechul

 

“Until we meet again Noona”

 

He jump off the window; Heechul watch him as he rides on his horse and leave the place

 

“He got himself a horse”

 

Heechul smile but notice her sister’s sad face
