Chapter 20

 

 

Yesung was walking around the palace, looking for his mother. He went to her room, but she’s not there. She’s not even in her study room or in the throne room. Yesung approach one of her mother’s servant to ask if she happens to see his mother.

 

“Where is my mother?”

 

The servant shook her head

 

“You don’t know?”

 

“I haven’t seen her”

 

Yesung frown

 

“I haven’t seen her yesterday night and this morning, did she went somewhere with my father?”

 

“I guess so”

 

“Where is he anyway?”

 

“He went at Aquidian Palace yesterday; he will be staying there until tomorrow. Maybe, the Queen is with him”

 

Yesung raised his eyebrow

 

“Tell my coachman that I’m going in Aquidian Palace now”

 

“But you still have a class”

 

“I’m going in Aquidian Palace; I just want to make sure that my mother is there”

 

The servant bows at him and left.

 

“Why do I feel uneasy? There’s something wrong, I need to find where my mother is”

 

Yesung told his self before leaving the palace

 

 

 

 

*AQUIDIAN PALACE*

 

 

Changmin welcomes his cousin with a smile on his face

 

“How are you Prince Yesung?”

 

He hugs him tight

 

“It’s been a long time”

 

Yesung nod

 

“What brings you here?”

 

Yesung clears his throat before speaking

 

“I’m looking for Appa”

 

“OMO”

 

Changmin sigh

 

“He just left awhile ago”

 

“Really, where is he going?”

 

“I think he will go at the Southern Palace”

 

Yesung stare at him curiously

 

“Why?”

 

Changmin just shook his head

 

“He didn’t tell me the reason; he just told me that he needs to go there immediately”

 

“I thought he will be staying here until tomorrow with Umma?”

 

Changmin stare at him blankly

 

“He’s not with your mother. He arrives here alone”

 

Yesung’s eyes widened

 

“Are you sure?”

 

Changmin nod

 

“Is there something wrong?”

 

Yesung stare at his cousin nervously

 

“I didn’t saw Umma in the palace; she’s nowhere to be found. One of her servants thought that she’s here with Appa, that’s why I went here to check”

 

Changmin’s eyes widened

 

“But King Kyuhyun arrives here alone, maybe Queen Sungmin went somewhere”

 

“I feel so nervous Changmin”

 

“Do you want me to help you look for her?”

 

“Is it ok?”

 

Changmin nod

 

“I’m not doing anything”

 

“Alright”

 

Changmin run outside with Yesung, they ride on Yesung’s carriage to look for the missing Queen of North.

 

 

 

 

 

Hangeng went out at the bathroom after taking a bath, he was wearing his robe. He saw Heechul standing at the window, staring outside while thinking so deep.

 

“What are you thinking?”

 

Hangeng gives her a back hug

 

“I’m just thinking about Umma, Appa, and Wookie. I wonder what they are doing now; maybe my parents are already looking for me. I’m sure that Umma is already worried”

 

Hangeng brush his lips on her neck

 

“You miss them?”

 

Heechul turn around and look at him

 

“I want to see them”

 

Hangeng brushes his fingers on her beautiful face

 

“You’ll see them soon. I promise you that they are safe”

 

Heechul wrap her arms around his neck and kissed him

 

“You look so pale”

 

Hangeng stare at her sadly; Heechul just smile

 

“You need to take care of me”

 

Hangeng kissed her; he carries her on his arms and lay her down carefully on the bed.

 

“You should take a rest, so you’ll feel better”

 

He brushes his lips on hers

 

“I need to tell you something”

 

Heechul told him calmly. Hangeng sit on the bed, Heechul sit on his lap and smile

 

“What is it my Princess?”

 

Heechul kissed him, she grab his hands and put it on her tummy while smiling brightly at him. Hangeng stare at her curiously.

 

“Inside my womb, is our child”

 

Hangeng smile happily

 

“You’re not kidding?”

 

Heechul pout

 

“Why will I play a joke? I’m telling you that I’m pregnant, are you not happy?”

 

Hangeng shook his head and kissed her lips

 

“Of course I am happy, very happy”

 

Hangeng cuddles her into his arms

 

“I can’t wait for the baby to come”

 

“We need to wait for a long time”

 

“I need to think of a good name for him”

 

Heechul pout

 

“What if the baby is a girl and not a boy?”

 

Hangeng kissed her

 

“It’s fine with me whether our first born is a girl or boy. The most important thing is, we’re going to love our child and give him a good life. I want our child to grow as a responsible person and of course, a loving person.”

 

“I want him to grow like you”

 

“Why me?”

 

Heechul laugh softly

 

“I want him to grow up just like you, because you’re his father”

 

Heechul hold her head and lay on the bed

 

“What’s wrong?”

 

Hangeng stare at her with worried face

 

“I’m fine, I just feel a little dizzy”

 

“Was it hard?”

 

Heechul nod

 

“But it’s ok”

 

Hangeng kissed her; someone knocks on the door

 

“I’ll get it, just have a rest”

 

Hangeng kissed her forehead before opening the door. Jay smile while staring at him

 

“Oh, did I come in a wrong time?”

 

Hangeng shook his head, Jay look at Heechul and smile

 

“Did I disturb your love making?”

 

Heechul shook her head

 

“Can I borrow your Prince for an hour?”

 

Heechul nod while smiling; Hangeng look at her

 

“We’re just going to talk outside, just take a rest. Call me if you need something, I’m just outside”

 

Heechul nod at him; Hangeng went out and sit on the wood with Jay

 

“So?”

 

Hangeng stare at him

 

“What brings you here?”

 

Jay clears his throat before answering him

 

“I’m here to tell you something, it’s urgent”

 

Hangeng look at him curiously

 

“Go ahead”

 

Jay takes a deep breath

 

“First, Prince Henry of Maples is in our palace. He will be staying there for the meantime”

 

Hangeng stare at him curiously

 

“Why?”

 

Jay stares at him nervously

 

“You ask me to investigate about King Donghae’s death, right?”

 

Hangeng nod

 

“Heechul told me before that someone wants to kill him”

 

“Yes”

 

Hangeng’s eyes widened

 

“So it’s true? Someone really wants to kill him? But who?”

 

“Hangeng...someone murders the King, it was...his own wife and your father”

 

Hangeng drop his jaw as he stares at Jay with wide eyes open

 

“Are you sure?”

 

Jay nods

 

“Prince Henry told me”

 

“How?”

 

“Well...he accidentally heard them talking yesterday about that matter. Everything is perfectly planned; they kill the King with a poison, dropping it on his food”

 

Hangeng hold his head, he starts to get confused

 

“But the servant...”

 

Jay stares at him sadly

 

“She’s innocent; the poison bottle found in her room is the fake one. The true poison bottle used in the crime is inside a box, placed inside the Queen’s cabinet”

 

“Did you get it?”

 

Jay nods

 

“With the help of Prince Henry, he helps me in investigating about the death of his father. He wants to know the truth because he can sense that something fishy is going on about his death”

 

“Why on earth will my father kill him? They’re good friends”

 

“One kingdom can’t be rule by two Kings”

 

Hangeng sigh

 

“I can’t believe that this is happening. Is my father really an evil to do that? So, everything that Heechul told me is right? I should have listen to her, I’m so stupid”

 

Hangeng drop his head, Jay pats his shoulder

 

“You don’t need to blame yourself; we must do something to stop your father and Queen Eunhyuk in doing evil. Prince Henry is the next target”

 

“What?”

 

“He heard it, they we’re planning to kill him”

 

“But why? Why would they involve him here? He’s innocent”

 

Jay smirk

 

“Every one of us is innocent, but if we won’t do something to stop it, then all of us will be a victim.”

 

“What shall we do?”

 

“There’s one thing that we can do to stop it, the only thing that I can think. You must replace your father and be the King of North”

 

Hangeng shook his head

 

“How will I do that?”

 

“Two options, it’s either you fight him in a battle or prove him guilty for the murder of the King of South”

 

Hangeng nod

 

“Arasso, after my wedding with Heechul tomorrow, I will go back in the palace and face my father. We shall have a duel”

 

Jay taps his shoulder

 

“I’m right behind you, if there will be a war within our land, my soldiers and I are willing to fight by your side. Pelagia Palace will support you”

*CHO PALACE*

 

 

“We need to kill Henry soon”

 

Kyuhyun told Eunhyuk

 

“I’ll take care of my son, I’ll kill him later”

 

Kyuhyun hold her hand

 

“You need to come with me; I have a surprise for you. I’m sure that you’re going to love it”

 

Kyuhyun drag her inside the dungeon. Eunhyuk stare at the woman for the meantime before recognizing her

 

“So?”

 

Eunhyuk smile, she saw a pale of cold water and pour it on her. Sungmin wakes up from her sleep, shivering because of the water.

 

“Well, how are you Queen Sungmin?”

 

Sungmin raise her head and stare at the owner of the voice. She found Eunhyuk smiling so brightly while staring at her

 

“You’ve got yourself a haircut”

 

Eunhyuk as she her hair

 

“But it suites you, you’re really beautiful”

 

Eunhyuk slap her face

 

“I have a very good idea on how to make you ugly”

 

She walks towards Kyuhyun and draw his sword, then she walks back to Sungmin. She holds her chin tight and smile

 

“Let’s see what will happen, if I...”

 

Eunhyuk point the sword on her face

 

“Slash you face, would be nice if I do that?”

 

Eunhyuk smile brightly and slash her left cheek so deeply. She laughs so hard when Sungmin shout because of pain.

 

“That’s what you get for leaving a mark on my arm”

 

Blood keeps on drifting on her face; Eunhyuk pulls her hair up and stare at her seriously

 

“I told you that you will beg in front of me”

 

“I’m not going to do that even if you kill me. I won’t lower myself to you, ”

 

Eunhyuk pulls her hair hard

 

“Then I shall kill you now!”

 

Eunhyuk was about to stab her with the sword but Kyuhyun hold her arms

 

“Why do you need to stop me? I need to kill this girl, she’s so irritating”

 

Kyuhyun shook his head and grab his sword from her hands

 

“Not now”

 

“Why not?”

 

“I still need her?”

 

“For?”

 

Eunhyuk frown but Kyuhyun kissed her lips

 

“Don’t get mad at me, we’re going to kill her son but not now. I still need to use her to bring my arrogant son back here in the palace”

 

Eunhyuk flash his evil smile

 

“Well then, let’s keep it her here for the meantime”

 

“She will stay here until the day I kill her with my own hands”

 

“Can I ask something?”

 

Kyuhyun kissed her lips

 

“Of course”

 

“I think the Queen of North is getting bored being alone, why not send some of your soldiers here to play with her for the meantime? That will be perfect”

 

Sungmin shook her head while staring at them

 

“No”

 

Kyuhyun stare at her eyes, tears start falling from it

 

“Please no”

 

Tears keep on falling from her eyes

 

“Just kill me, please just kill me”

 

Kyuhyun walk towards her, he stares at her face full of blood. She can no longer open her right eyes; it was swelling so hard, her knees are trembling because of the big block of ice that was tied underneath her feet. She had a lot of scar on her arms and on her legs and her knees are bleeding nonstop. Her clothes are like rag; she was shivering because of cold and crying.

 

“Why are you doing this to me baby?

 

Sungmin talk in a soft voice; her body is aching; she feels pain in every part of it.

 

“You betray me and you deserve this kind of punishment. I should have killed you when I saw you lying on the bed with other man”

 

“Everything you saw is a lie”

 

“Don’t fool me”

 

Sungmin shook her head

 

“That girl was the one who keeps on fooling you”

 

Sungmin stare at Eunhyuk

 

“She’s the one who will bring you to your grave”

 

Kyuhyun slaps her

 

“SHUT UP!”

 

“When will you listen? When will you open your heart to the truth? Baby, it’s not yet late for you to change.”

 

“I don’t love you anymore”

 

“I know and I’m asking you to love me again. If that will make you happy, I won’t force you. I just want you to change for your children and for the people you govern. Stop your selfish ambition and be the King that they love before. Stop hurting innocent people and don’t put their lives on your hands; let them live peacefully just like before. They need a King who will lead them properly and it’s not yet late to change”

 

“You and your lower class people won’t fool me again!”

 

“Kyuhyun, I love you so much that I don’t want you to regret everything at the end. You will realize it, when you already face your defeat”

 

Kyuhyun smirk

 

“Nobody can defeat me; I am King Kyuhyun of Castile and Leon. I shall put the lives of my people on my hands and they can’t do anything about it, nobody can stop me, not even you”

 

Kyuhyun shoot her a deadly glare and drags Eunhyuk outside. They were walking on the hallway when Yesung approach his father

 

“Where is my mother?”

 

Kyuhyun stare at him

 

“I send her on a mission”

 

Yesung raised his eyebrow

 

“Where is my mother?”

 

Kyuhyun smile sarcastically

 

“I told you that I send your mother on a mission. It’s really important”

 

“Liar!”

 

Kyuhyun shook his head

 

“I’m not lying Sungie”

 

“Where is she?”

 

Kyuhyun sigh and ruffles his son’s hair

 

“You’ll see her soon; she’s in a faraway land. I send her in a mission, but we’re going there soon”

 

“Are you sure?”

 

Kyuhyun nod

 

“Of course I’m sure”

 

“I’ll kill you if something bad happen to my mother”

 

Kyuhyun laugh softly while staring at him

 

“You don’t need to threaten your own father”

 

“You’re not my father, I never consider you as my father”

 

“It’s ok; I don’t need a son like you. Don’t worry, your mother is safe”

 

Kyuhyun emphasize the word ‘safe’

 

“You go to sleep now before I lose my temper to you. You’ll see your mother soon”

 

Kyuhyun told him before leaving with Eunhyuk

 

“I’ll prove in court that you’re having an affair with that woman, if that happens; I’ll ask for your head and her head. I don’t care if you’re my father; we shall give Umma her own justice”
