“I really didn’t sign up for this. . .”

Kyungsoo watches as Taeri comforts Hyunwoo by hugging him around his waist. He clears his throat before stepping in first to the counter to buy their passes for the Haunted House. “Four tickets please.” He initiates to buy them. He takes out his wallet and grabs some bills. “Thank you, sir. Just to let you know, you can have all-day pass meaning you can use this pass for as many as you like for this whole day.” The staff informs him while printing out the tickets. “Oh god, there’s not going to be a second time, I guarantee you.” Hyunwoo chuckles before burying his face on Taeri’s neck. Not affected at all, Kyungsoo smiles before taking the tickets from the lady. He bows before facing them all. “Are you guys ready?” he asks.

Obviously faking her fear, Hera lets out a scared muffle before grabbing Kyungsoo’s arm to hold onto it.

Kyungsoo awkwardly smiles before looking away to clear his throat.

“Don’t act so scared, Unni. You’re the one who wanted this.” Taeri couldn’t help but to point out. Kyungsoo tries his best to hold onto his smile, jealousy was evident in her tone – at least for him. “Ugh, wait before we enter, I need to go to the bathroom. I don’t want to end up peeing because of fear.” Hera excuses herself before looking for the closest public washroom. “I-I think that’s a good idea. Wait. . .” Hyunwoo murmurs before walking off as well. “Oh god, are you two seriously scared?” Taeri asks as she watches te two walk away, entering their designated washrooms at the same time.

She then turns back around to meet Kyungsoo right in front of her.

She puts away her giggle by clearing . “T-they’re a bunch of cowards r-right. . .those two k-know the ghosts inside are humans right? B-but anyway, live humans are scarier, so. . .” She tries to open up a conversation while looking anywhere but him. A smile was teasing to come out of her again so she rubs the tip of her nose a few times to hide it. Kyungsoo looks away doing the same. He turns his head to the left while scratching his cupid’s bow, one thing he does when he wants to hold his smile. “Yeah. Uh. . .” he nods and clears his throat before looking down to her again.

Their eyes meet.

“B-by the way, looking good.” Taeri briefly compliments before taking a few steps back. As she does it, she couldn’t help but to shudder at the way Kyungsoo stares at her – as if he was content of doing so. Hyunwoo might really like her and looks at her with loving eyes as well but the way Kyungsoo does is still different; it’s unexplainable. She remembers the first time he had those eyes for her. . . it was their last day together, on their way to the airport.

The first time he looked at her that way was right before she gets into the airport.

And she just knew at that time it was different. . .

“Yeah, I kind of dressed up for today. Though. . . I should try to make this work. T-this time. . .” Kyungsoo replies while putting his hands in his pockets. “B-by the way, I’m sorry for. . . last time.” Taeri opens it up while she has the chance. Kyungsoo replies with a smile while shaking his head. “Don’t bother, it’s okay.” He answers while rubbing his neck. “So. . . I hope from this on, we just can be friends. N-no hard feelings?” Taeri asks before offering a hand-shake. “Uh. . .” Kyungsoo chuckles while staring at her hand. “I’d rather not take that honestly. I still have feelings for you so, i-it’s wouldn’t be so easy to let go. I mean. . . f-for now.” He declines but the way he did just made Taeri’s heart thump like crazy. She didn’t expect he would be this honest to his feelings, ever since they had the talk. “Kyungsoo. . .” She muffles with a frown.

“No no, don’t worry about me. I’m just saying, not now with. . . touching of any sort. I’m still weak on that.” He answers while chuckling, embarrassed of himself. She could see he’s trying to act fine and unaffected. He totally lost his tough façade from earlier now that they’re talking alone. “Oh. . . okay.” She awkwardly nods while tucking some strands of hair behind her ear. “Hera’s really nice, I like her.” Kyungsoo suddenly blurts out making Taeri bite on her bottom lip.

Until she realizes that Hyunwoo just came back that’s why he changed the subject.

“Okay, I’m ready.” Hyunwoo coos while stretching as if he’s competing in the Olympics. “Hera hasn’t come back. You guys can go ahead if you want. I’ll wait for her.” Kyungsoo offers while glancing at the female washroom. “Are you sure?” Hyunwoo asks while putting an arm over Taeri. “W-we can wait here, let’s go together?” Taeri suggests instead while forcing a smile. Out of nowhere, she gains this sudden want to keep Hera and Kyungsoo from being left alone together. It’s selfish but it’s not something she could control right now. “Yeah, let’s wait for her. Noona might escape.” Hyunwoo agrees with a grin.

“You know what, this interior of the haunted house, we should make our future house like this. It’s so classic. And then we leave our pet crow on a tree beside our porch.” The guy begins blabbering while pointing to things. Taeri just listens to him while laughing at his silly antics. “Seriously? And then we kill people to feed our crow?” Taeri asks in between laughter.

Kyungsoo stood there with a smile, listening to her laugh and watching her be the happy-go-lucky Taeri she knew.

He knows ever since things happened, both of them haven’t been themselves and it’s a good thing that once in a while, they get to be real even just for a second. When their eyes met, Kyungsoo stops from smiling and looks away immediately. Just then, Hera comes back while fixing her dress. “Sorry, guys. The line up inside was so long, I had to wait.” She groans before wrapping her arms around Kyungsoo’s again.

Finally, they step into the haunted house all together.

Taeri on the other hand had the same exact face – wonder and excitement. They liked it, for some reasons. “Wah~” Taeri points at a huge bloody knife hung on the wall, as if she has seen gold. Suddenly, a woman in bloody white gown appeared in front of them. “AHHHHHH!” Hyunwoo screams like a woman before hiding behind Kyungsoo, completely forgetting about Taeri. “Oh my god, get away get away!” Hera jumps continuously while pushing Hyunwoo away so she could hug Kyungsoo. “Yah—why is everyone holding onto him?! What about me?” Taeri laughs while pointing at the ghost lady who just hid again. Kyungsoo on the other hand just kept silent while smiling at everything, basically.

“Babe where are yo— HOMYGOD—NO—GET THE AWAY FROM ME GET THE AWAY FROM ME!” Hyunwoo jumps dramatically when someone grabs him on the foot. Kyungsoo laughs out loud while listening to his best friend freak
