Harum Scarum

"Mina'll be coming home."

My hand rested on the doorknob of my bedroom door. Was she coming home.. this soon? Believe me.. me and my sister don't have much of a good relationship. It's either we're strangers, acquaintances, or on bad terms.

There's nothing in between.

I took a deep breath and walked outside of my room, being greeted by my parents and Baekhyun, who was eating with them. I was glad they were nice enough to take him in.

What date was it? I turned my head to the calendar.

September 19.

Oh right. Days pass so quickly, do they? Tomorrow was the dance competition. And if I get to describe how excited I am for that, words aren't enough.

"When will she be coming home?" I asked curiously, giving my parents kisses on the cheek. I grabbed a loaf of bread and started eating while standing up, as I didn't have any more space.

"Suyung." Baekhyun smiled, standing up from his seat and offering me his. Having no choice, I flashed him a grateful smile as we exchanged places.

"In a month or two." Mother replied.

"Alright." I responded, as my parents started talking about my sister again. After I was done, Baekhyun helped me clean the table. As I let out a sigh and ran my fingers through my hair, finally getting everything done, he stared at me.

"Excited for tomorrow?"

I smiled with closed eyes and nodded. "It's been a while since I last visited Seoul.."

"Say.." he grinned. "Let's hangout for today."

I cocked an eyebrow and brought out my phone. "Let me call Jungkook-"

He stopped me from doing so. "No, just the two of us."

I blushed and pursed my lips. "W-What?"

He laughed and moved his hand, lightly pinching my cheek. "I'm asking you out on a date, pabo."

My eyes widened. Then I smirked and nodded. "Hmm. Where to?"

He grinned and gently pushed me to my room. "I know a nice place out of town. Wear clothes for a cold weather."

I laughed as he locked and closed the door for me. I heard his laugh from the other side of the door, maybe he was celebrating. I didn't know where he was taking me, but I followed his instructions and wore a coat.

Since I was so poor when it comes to clothes, I ended up using my sister's boots she left - not that she'll know. And here's the saddest part - I didn't have gloves.

I mean, if only I could use the gloves I had when I was young, sure.. but, hey! I grow..

I walked outside of my room and found Baekhyun waiting for me outside of the flower shop. He waved at me.

We started walking. "Where are you taking me? Is it far?"

He shook his head and flashed me a reassuring smile. "Somewhere.. just trust me. And no, we can just walk.. I already asked permission from your parents. It isn't that far."

"They actually said yes?" I couldn't help but grin. "Byun Baekhyun, are you a wizard?"

He chuckled. "They seemed pretty guilty about saying no. I persuaded them while you were preparing. I was that confident and excited to bring you out, Suyung!"

I lightly punched him on the shoulder as we walked side by side. "You're so weird."

"You're weirder." he stuck his tongue out, then he lowered his gaze and stared down on his feet as if it were that interesting. "You know, Suyung.." he started. "I'm going to move out of your house tomorrow. I feel bad."

"What?" I looked up at him. "Baekhyun, don't feel bad, your family-"

He waved a hand. "There's an apartment in town, no? I saved up some money."

I glanced up at him. "How do you even get money?"

He looked away and smiled at me. "It's hard to explain.. anyways," he started. "When your parents mentioned your sister.. you didn't look too happy, why?"

I forced a laugh. "Well.. we're not really that close.. I grew up with my grandma, while she grew up with my parents. Talk about favouritism!"

"Is she really that bad?" he raised a brow.

I shook my head. "Not really.. we just don't get along. She loves physical activities, I don't. I concentrate on school, she doesn't. She's social, I'm not.. we don't have much in common.. and we didn't really grow up together."

"Oh.." he trailed off, then sighed. "Then, to make you feel better, why won't you tell me more about your grandma?" he grinned.

I smiled at his words. "If it wasn't for her, I wouldn't have learn how to play the piano nor draw.."

He turned his head. "She was always so helpful. She was my role model. She always lent a hand to those in need.."

"She raised you well." he reassured.

I smiled and turned to Baekhyun. "How about you? Tell me more about your family.."

"I let them down." he sighed. "They live in another province. They didn't support me on becoming a musician, so I ran away and went to another town, to my uncle. He died a month ago."

"A month ago.." I trailed off. And so.. that was the last straw in his life?

"Temptations were everywhere, Suyung." he turned to me with sad eyes. "I sunk into depression. There were so many things that happened before and after that. I wanted to end my life."

"You grasped my reality." he smiled at me reassuringly. "Happiness.. freedom.. youth.."

"I'm glad." I smiled. From the corner of my eye, something caught my attention. I gasped and jogged over to the sketchy shop to the side.

"What is this?" I asked, admiring the weird statues and things displayed outside of the shop. Baekhyun laughed and opened the door for me.

"A thrift store." a bell rang as we entered. The store was pretty dark, but things were still visible here and there. "I can't believe you haven't been to one of this before."

"Woah!" I said, my eyes landing on some weird clay figurines on the side. And a huge wallclock as well! There was even cool clothes I haven't seen before!

"Want one?" the woman asked, holding up a bracelet with a single clay molded as a star.

"It's so pretty.." I murmured, holding out my hands. She smiled genuinely and placed it on my hand. "I'll give two for the both of you."

"We don't have to pay for it?" I asked, putting it on my wrist, Baekhyun doing the same.

"It symbolises strong affection." she explained. "As long as you two wear it.. it means you love each other dearly. It creates a strong bond."

"You don't have to pay for it. I just wish you two a good relationship."

"Thank you, Ahjumma." we bowed down and walked out of the thrift store.

"So.. as long as I wear this, I'm not over you." he winked at me playfully, making me laugh. We turned to a street and my eyes landed on some ice cream.

"Ah, that tastes really good!" he said, lightly pulling on my wrist.

"Really? I want to taste it!" I said. "Stay there. You don't have to be the only one buying stuff here. I have money too!"

He smiled at me as I handed him some ice cream. How I found out what flavour he wanted, well we both liked vanilla.

"Anyways, the place I'm talking about is right around the corner." he said, pulling me with him.

I looked around the attraction place and couldn't help but be in awe. The buildings were a nice shade of brown-red, and it just looked so fancy. There weren't much people around, too.

I felt cold wind hit my skin as we turn to a certain street, and my eyes landed on an ice skating rink.

"Woah." I scanned the huge rink and smiled widely. Believe it or not, this was the first time I've ever seen one before. So don't expect me to know how to skate!

"I told you." he laughed, as he pulled me along.

A man handed us some skating boots, which I slipped on my feet, but was having a hard time tying it. Baekhyun laughed at me.

"How do you do this?" I asked out loud, getting a bit frustrated.

He grinned and crouched down and started tying the shoelaces, making me feel flustered. "I can do it, why didn't you just tell me what to do?"

He shrugged and stood up. "At least you're a bit taller now, yeah?"

I growled and playfully punched his shoulder. He lead me to the ice skating rink.

"Be careful." he said, as he stepped inside, holding both of my hands tightly. "You wouldn't want to hurt your ankle again, would you?"

I scoffed and stepped in the ice carefully. "Why would I want that to happen again?"

It was harder than I thought. I was a bit confident on learning right away, but I couldn't help but cling on him for dear life. I didn't want to fall down and be embarrassed in front of everyone!

"Suyung, you won't fall." he said, as I wrapped my arms around his shoulders out of a sudden.

"What if I do?" I muttered, as he tried to pull away to hold my hands again.

"Just.. trust me." he reassured, giving me small smile. I pulled away and he held my hand. "You don't have gloves?"

I pursed my lips and slightly looked away, "It's okay."

He shook his head and guided me towards the side of the ice skating rink. I held unto the railing tightly as he started taking off his gloves.

"From a pianist," he started, sliding one of his gloves into my left hand. "To another pianist:" then he slid the other to my right. "You should take care of your hands."

I couldn't help but admire his face as some snow fell on top of his head. When did he become this attractive?

"Y-Yeah." I mentally cursed at myself for stuttering. God..

Then, without any warning, he pulled me over to him and skated to the middle, making me hold in my screams of fear. I couldn't help but cling unto him again. "Baekhyun! Stop!" I laughed.

"Honestly.." he said softly, stopping and placing a hand on top of my head, making me look up. "You make me.. really happy."

I didn't pull away. "You make me happy, too."

"I don't like making promises." he said, pulling away to look me in the eyes. "And I can't always assure you that I'll always be here.."

I placed a hand on his cheek. "But I assure you that I will be."

He looked away, then placed a hand on top of mines, locking eyes with me. "But if I can't anymore.. find someone that makes you happier."

My eyes widened, and my hand dropped. "Baekhyun?"

My heart pounded.

"What are you talking about?" I breathed out.

"I just wanted to tell you." he said, giving me one of his smiles and pinching my cheek, leaning down and giving my nose a quick peck. "Promise me."

I bit my gums and looked away, feeling a huge desire to cry. But I stopped myself and looked up at him. "I.. promise."

"Don't cry." he frowned. Was I?

He pulled me close and hugged me, but I quickly wiped my tears away. Then he pulled away and held both of my hands with his exposed ones, guiding me.

"The promise.." he started. "Includes you being happy."

I pursed my lips and let go one of his hands to wipe the tears that rested on my cheek.

"I promise."

A/N: YES PROMISES ARE IMPORTANT IN THIS STORY WAHA!

Also, if you're wondering why Baekhyun and Suyung have a 'thing' when this is a Kim Taehyung story is because plot and past matters with this kind of stories in my opinion.

Like.. don't you wonder how Suyung and Taehyung will end up together in the first place when Baekhyun's around?

It decreases plot holes and adds more drama/life to the story. I mean, most people learn things from past relationships that held them a lot in the future.

I know 'falling in love' isn't as easy, but to be honest, I think that the more sensitive/empty a person is, the more prone they are to being attached to people? I mean, some people deal with negativity and depression that way..

If you have more questions, feel free to ask me.

And come on, admit it, they're pretty cute.

So.. YEAH.

I HOPE YOU ENJOYED THIS CHAPTER, WHAT DID YOU THINK OF EVERYTHING?
