Three-Day Date
Falling in-love...after getting divorced?!I woke up when someone kept ringing the door bell.
I groaned softly as I got up from my bed in slow motion and yawned.
I rubbed eyes.
God, I feel horrible.
I absent-mindedly ran my fingers over my hair, combing it as I walked out of my room.
My eyes were still half-closed when I groggily opened the door.
"Hyun," a voice called me out.
My sleepiness immediately disappeared as Kyuhyun put his arms around my waist tightly.
Am I...dreaming?
His warmth, his soft mutters on my ear, his soft touch...
It's not really happening, right?
I closed my eyes shut.
I know that when I open them, I'm gonna find myself alone in bed, probably hurt again for remembering him.
"I am so sorry," he whispered, over and over.
The soft mutters wouldn't stop.
I opened my eyes.
I'm standing at my front door.
This is not a dream then...
His breath on my hair...felt nice.
Break away from his hug, I told myself over and over, but my body won't listen to my mind.
I stayed completely still and let him hold me.
"Kyu, what are you-----"
"Sorry, Hyun, but can you let me hold you like this for a couple of minutes?"
His breathing was heavy and uneven, almost shaking.
I swallowed.
How could I say no when he asked me that way?
"Okay," I breathed.
And since we were in that position anyways, I figured there's no point fighting it.
I put my arms around his neck, reaching up to hug him back.

(Kyuhyun's POV)
I watched as Seohyun emerged from the kitchen with a cup of coffee in hands.
Her hair was tied into a loose bun and her eyes looked tired and drained.
She slowly walked, careful not to spill it, as she blew on the hot drink.
I sighed as I got up and took the coffee from her.
She looked up at me like she wanted to say something.
"Sit down," I told her.
She took a seat.
"I told you you didn't need to get me coffee," I muttered under my breath.
I placed the cup on the coffee table.
"But you're my guest.
Of course I needed to show you hospitality," she answered plainly.
I wondered if she knew how much it pissed me off to regard me as a common stranger who wanted her hospitality.
I sighed, annoyed.
"Why wouldn't you text back?" I asked.
"I was sleeping," she replied.
I shut my eyes for awhile, taking deep breaths to control this annoying, banging sound in my head.
I gulped before replying.
"Why didn't you tell me that Eomeoni came to see you?" I questioned.
I saw her flinch a little.
"It's no big deal," she answered, her voice unwavered and cool.
"She just stopped by to see how I was doing."
My jaw clenched as I held back the urge to shout.
I took a couple of deep breaths before speaking again.
"Are you really going to lie to me like this?
Tell me what she said," I said, softly.
I shot right up when I saw tears forming underneath her eyes.
I instinctively held her shoulders.
"H-hey, don't cry..." I muttered.
She clenched her jaw.
"Who's gonna cry?
I've got the 'Legendary Composure', remember?" she sniffed, trying to sound fierce, but her voice was already shaking.
I immediately pulled her into my arms.
"Okay, I got it.
You can stop now," I soothed her.
I wanted to tell her to just let it all out, but I couldn't bear it.
I couldn't bear listening to her soft cries, especially because it was my fault.
She's crying again.
Just like how she'd cry when we were still married.
And I know for a fact that I did that to her.
I failed to protect her again, and let her get hurt.
It seems like be it married or not, I'll never be strong enough to protect her...
I'm so useless.
"Don't cry, I beg you..." I muttered, unknowingly.
"What?" she sobbed.
I looked down at her.
She was resting her face on my tear-stained shirt.
She pouted as she weakly pushed my chest away, releasing herself from my embrace.
"Aren't you getting a bit into this skinship thing since you came here?" she demanded, sniffing.
I laughed under my breath.
"Okay, I'm sorry.
I forgot I can't do that whenever I please anymore," I said.
She blinked at me, drops of tears sitting at the end of her long lashes.
She sighed softly, looking away.
"You're still going to Ara's birthday, right?" I queried.
"As if I have any choice.
I already told Eomeoni I would," she mumbled.
I tilted her chin up.
"Well, since you're off for the next three days, will you go on a three-day long date with me?" I asked.
I didn't really expect her to say yes, but she did.
