"Happy Valentines' Day~!" I crept up behind Mina, making her jump.

She held her hand on her chest, annoyed.

"Seohyunnie~!

Don't scare me like that!" she said.

"You know I have to make sure everything goes well in the Valentines' Day Out tonight," she grumbled, taking the pen back to her hand and working again.

I giggled with Soori as I squished my way in between them.

It's Valentines' Day and I was in a good mood.

Mina likes to act as if she's annoyed at the whole thing, but in truth, she's actually looking forward to it too.

She's taken quite a liking to Sanghyeon-ssi for some time now, although she won't really admit it.

I'm sure the Valentines' Day Out is the perfect opportunity for her to confess.

"Soori-yah, look at this~!"

I held up a flower bud I picked from our front garden that morning.

"Waah~!

The petals are forming a heart shape!

How is that even possible?" Soori asked, completely amazed.

"I think even nature can tell it’s Valentines," I laughed.

So did Soori.

"Can you guys please be quiet?" Mina snapped.

"Nah~" I stuck a tongue out at her.

Soori laughed.

Mina looked annoyed, but it quickly turned to an amused smile.

"She looked at me strangely.

"What?" I asked.

"Why are you so excited today, Hyun?" she asked, trying to act cute but looking dangerously scary.

I swallowed hard.

I...didn't see that coming.

"Nothing.

It's Valentines' Day, that's all," I muttered.

She grinned.

"You're excited because it's Valentines'?" she repeated.

I gave her a hesitant nod.

Mina bursted into laughter.

"Do you know that only girls who are in-love get this excited because of Valentines?" she asked.

"Not really!" I defended quickly.

"Oh really?

But you're not really a romantic, are you, Seohyun-ssi?" she asked sarcastically with a sly smile.

I bit my bottom lip, holding in my embarassment.

"Omo, you're turning red.

Are you losing your 'legendary composure', Seohyun-ssi?" she grinned.

"Y-yah..." Soori muttered, not knowing what to do.

I breathed out slowly.

Legendary Composure.

I can't lose that.

If I do, then she's beaten me.

I gave her a relaxed smile.

"What are you talking about, Mina-ssi?

Maybe you should take a rest from all this work.

It's giving your brains some really mucked up conclusions," I smiled.

Now, if someone were to say that to you, you'd probably feel annoyed, right?

But since Mina was my friend, and she knew me and that I didn't mean to offend her that way, she took it light-heartedly.

Mina laughed.

"Maybe, maybe not," she nodded, satisfied.

I laughed too.

Soori ended up sighing in relief, and at the same time laughing.

"Yah!

You made me nervous!" she said.

I giggled at her.

I had to be more careful.

Mina is one very smart girl.

"Seohyun-ssi, aren't you supposed to be with someone else right now?" Mina winked.

Soori giggled.

I rolled my eyes.

"Sweetie, I'm with my friends already.

Where else do I need to be?" I replied.

Mina laughed silently.

"What about President-nim?

Aren't you supposed to be with the one who you set up this whole place so beautifully for?

Why are you waiting in a line?" I nudged playfully.

Mina turned bright red.

"Oh My Gosh~!" Soori laughed.

I did too.

"Tickets please," the man said.

He smiled at us, but then his eyes widened when he looked at me.

"I'm sorry, the next carriage is for two-seaters only," he said.

"What?

You're kidding me!

I was the one who talked to your company over the phone.

I specifically asked for three-seater Ferris wheel rides.

What is this?" Mina fumed.

The man looked lost for words.

I pouted.

I didn't want to be left behind on a different carriage with my friends!

"It's okay, I'll pay for the next carriage with Seohyun,"

An arm stretched from behind me and handed the man two admission tickets.

The man smiled.

"Certainly," he said, looking like there was something behind his smile.

Mina and Soori looked surprised too.

"Uhm...we'll go ahead," Soori muttered, dragging away the baffled and speechless Mina.

"What?

Let's go together~!" I cried after them.

"Do you really hate being in the same carriage as me that much?"

I turned around.

I knew exactly who it was, even if I was blind-folded.

Kyuhyun stood there with a crooked smile.

I bit my bottom lip worriedly.

At times like these, I really miss the times when I could do anything with Kyu and not feel awkward about it.

But that's the past.

The case is different now.

It's not him, it's me.

My heart would suddenly skip a beat when I see him smile.

My eyes would always wander around, searching for him.

My lips will always suddenly spit out his name towards any conversation.

It was all very confusing for me at first, and he was hard to figure out.

But I know now.

I'm the one who suddenly had feelings that I wasn't supposed to feel towards a bestfriend and a brother-like figure.

It's my fault.

"Let's get on," I mumbled, walking towards the carriage.

He followed on behind me.

I sat on the carriage seat awkwardly, my hands hanging onto the edge of the seat.

He sat next to me, and his hand suddenly brushed against mine, sending shock waves down my spine.

I gasped softly before quickly pulling and looking away.

I saw at the corner of my eyes that Kyuhyun looked at me with an expression I couldn't quite get.

The ride started moving and we were slowly ascending to the air.

I looked down below from the carriage window, not looking away once.

I hoped that the ride would be over and done with already.

"So, I haven't talked to you in ages.

I rarely see you anymore, even though we're neighbors.

Did something happen?" he asked.

I closed my eyes shut for a while.

I wished he hadn't said anything.

I turned around with a relaxed smile.

"No, just busy," I replied.

"You really think it's that easy to get me off your back?" he retaliated.

I let out a sigh.

For a moment there, I forgot who I was talking to.

"What do you want me to say, Kyuhyun?" I asked, looking away.

He looked serious.

"Answers," he said.

"To all my questions."

I didn't want him to ask questions.

Kyu has always seen me as a little sister.

It'll ruin our friendship for sure if he were to know...how I really feel.

If we can't be more than friends, then at least I'd like to stay where we are now.

I laughed.

"Okay then.

Ask your questions, I'll reply them honestly."

I had no choice.

He breathed out.

"Why have you been avoiding me?

Why don't you ever come see me anymore and always make up these excuses on why you can't come?

Why...are you being like this?" he asked.

I looked down.

I knew so well that after this conversation, things will never be the same again.

I had to ready myself for that.

"To be honest, there's only one answer,"

I looked up into his brown, sparkling eyes, bracing myself.

I never knew if it would be the last time I'd get to see them.

Who knows?

He might completely hate me after this.

I smiled crookedly.

"I'm...in love with you," I said.

His eyes didn't turn away.

He didn't even flinch.

"You can hate me for all I care, but at least I got it out.

I only ever care for myself anyways.

At least now you know to run away from me," I said.

I tried so hard to stop the tears from falling from my eyes, but I wasn't doing a very good job.

Kyuhyun put his arms around me and pulled me towards his chest.

"Didn't that feel so much better?

Letting it out like that.

You should do that more often so your feelings don't get bottled up like that," he spoke softly.

If I do that...

If I become selfish like that...

Then you'd get hurt.

"Dummy," I muttered.

Kyuhyun chuckled softly.

"Just pretend you don't know.

Everything will be fine," I told him, releasing myself from his hug.

"But I don't want to do that," he told me.

He wiped a tear from my face.

"In fact, I want to hear it again."

I looked at him confused.

What is he...?

I stared at him, not quite understanding the situation yet.

"You don't want to say it?" he asked.

"But I really wanted to hear it again.

I've been waiting for it for so long, you owe me at least that much," he chuckled.

My eyes narrowed.

Wait...what?

"Fine, I'll say it," he said.

He gave me a crooked smile.

"I'm in love with you too, for quite a long time now," he said.

Everything went inaudible.

It was as if the whole world just...stopped.

I think for a second there, my heart actually stopped beating.

It was just so...unbelievable for me.

My jaw dropped and all I managed to spit out was “Shut. Up”.

He bursted into laughter and pulled me in again.

"Okay, I'll shut up," he said.
