It wasn’t in Jinyoung’s greatest interest to be sitting in the meeting room, in the seat of the Vice Captain, across from his co-Vice, the man he now grown to hates and hates. Throughout the entire meeting, in front of the whole entire team and the Captain himself, Jinyoung had done nothing but crossing his arms stubbornly against his chest and glares poisonous daggers at Mark. The presence of the said male irks him to no bounds.

Mark, on the other hand, also didn’t find the whole uation as ideal. It’s been two weeks since he’s working here and, oh, those were some long- two weeks. The amount of efforts he puts in to not have Park Jinyoung’s childish attitude gets on his very last nerves was horrific. And it did not help one bit that they’re ing sharing the same office together. Everyday was like Hell breaking over. There hasn’t been a single second where Mark could relax without worrying that Jinyoung would pops around the corner and stabs him in the neck.

They obviously never spoken much to each other. But the intense stares and annoyed scoffs were enough to make everyone realizes their names were written perfectly in sarcastic calligraphy on each other’s blacklists. The team members all finding everyday’s morning meetings to be very unsettling and uncomfortable whenever their two Vice Captains happened to attend at the same time. Like today.

“What am saying is,” Mark sighed as he looked down at the document in front of him, “this plan is flawed. Who was the one who came up with something like this garbage?” Vice Captain Tuan isn’t one who’s held back with his words.

The room was silence. Even Captain Im avoided looking into his straightforward best friend’s eyes. Vice Captain Park leaned back in his chair, eyes turned sharp and menacing. “did.”

Without even removing his eyes from the papers, Mark scoffed, “figures.”

The agents softly gulped as they watched the dark aura that’s burning around their Vice Captain Park. The whole K.N.S.S. was made aware of Jinyoung’s immensely terrifying powers. He was the Chairman Park. No one, like NO ONE, dares to laid even a finger on him. Im Jaebum is the only one with that honor. But then their companionship is legit the best throughout the whole facility, so it’s understandable that Jaebum isn’t really as scared of Jinyoung like everyone else. However, now that Mark Tuan entered. Nothing can comes back from there.

“Why? You hate it? Well, you shouldn’t have looked at it when I gave it to you. We wouldn’t be having this problem so early in the morning,” Jinyoung sneered. The whole entire room then knows that he had did it on purpose. And his purpose is to annoyed the out of his co-Vice.

Finally looking up, Mark desperate wanted to slap that y grin off of Jinyoung’s face. He shook his head. Park Jinyoung is too spoiled for his liking. “You did not gave it to me, Park-ssi. Rather, you threw it at my face. Being a decent human I am, I chose to ignore rude manners. You’re YOUNGER. So learn some respect.”

“You don’t tell me to learn some respect when you don’t got none, Mark-ssi,” Jinyoung challenged, jaw clenching tight in suppressed anger. “Do you even know who I am?”

“I could give two s about who you are,” Mark replied as he stood up from his seat and fixed his tie, “but once you’re sitting in this room, or sitting in your office, or walking around in this building, you are to accept the position of your rank as an agent. Fix this and we’ll discuss further. I’ll be going first. Good day, everyone.”

With a curt nod, Mark casually left the room, leaving everyone scared less for their lives. Jaebum sighed and waved his agents to get out, protecting them from Jinyoung’s upcoming anger outburst. Jaebum began counting.

    One.

    Two.

    Three.

    Fo-

“Who the does he thinks he is?! I can’t believe this!!” Jinyoung slammed his fists onto the table and repeatedly banging on it.

“Here we go again,” Captain Im rubbed his temples with his thumb and middle finger.

Standing up and pacing around the huge meeting room, Jinyoung tries to hold himself back from punching anything that could easily breaks. He’s angry. Angry to the point he just wants to take out his gun and starts shooting at anything that breathes. That being Mark-ing-Tuan. Oh, how badly does Jinyoung wants to grinds the heel of his shoe on that arrogantly gorgeous face; how badly does Jinyoung wants to rips Mark apart with his own bare hands; how badly does Jinyoung wants to watch Mark slowly dies from pain. The answer is: very, very, very, very bad.

“He thinks he has the protection of the U.S. and so he’s acting up? What a ing dumb bastard,” Jinyoung stopped pacing and laughed maniacally, “the ing U.S. President is afraid of me!”

“Jinyoung,” Jaebum called, hoping to bring his friend back to the ground before things get extremely messy. “Chill out. Mark was just doing his job.”

“And what is that? ing with me?”

    “Jin-“

“I don’t know why you’re covering up for your goddamned best friend, Jaebum, but he seriously needs to back the off or I’ll smack him the up.”

Rolling his eyes, Jaebum got up, “JYP calling a meeting in two hours, so go fix whatever you need to fix.”

    “Jae-“

“Do it, Jinyoung. Somewhere deep within your heart, you know Mark is right. And besides, you did it horribly bad on purpose. You’re Chairman Park for ’s sake; a perfectionist; you don’t make petty mistakes,” Jaebum shrugged and headed for the fancy double doors.

Jaebum left Jinyoung alone. The Vice Captain closed his eyes and inhaled deeply, silently screaming at Fate for being so utterly cruel and unreasonable. Regardless, Jinyoung walked back to the desk and picked up the file.

Chief Commander Park patiently waits for the very important person to show up. The man has been sitting in his office for quite a while, messing around a bit on his phone. He looked at the clock that’s hung peacefully on the wall and slowly nodded. They must be finished with their usual morning meetings.

A knock resonated loudly around the office. Already, JYP knows who it is. “Come in.”

“Good morning, sir,” Mark entered and bowed politely, not forgetting that his rank is lower than the older man, although in actual reality, the young agent’s position is that of equivalent to the Director of the K.N.S.S. since he’s the leader of this huge international investigation and America’s own representative. But being Mark Tuan, he’s always calm and humble.

“You, too, Agent Tuan,” JYP smiled kindly. “So how’s your first two weeks? I hope we Koreans didn’t make such bad impressions.”

“Oh, no,” Mark chuckled, “you’re fine, sir. I’m adapting quite well. Thank you for lending me a room right here inside the facility, I didn’t even think that was possible,” as much as Mark wants to bring up that brat, he couldn’t. Not trying to ruin the mood.

The Chief Commander laughed and shook his head, “your coming was a bit of a sudden, so we just had to open one of the locked suite rooms that’s reserved only for very important people, such as the President of the Republic of Korea himself. But if you’d like, we can ask Chairman Park- I mean Vice Captain Park to lend you a villa or something.”

Immediately shaking his head, Mark’s eyes widened in alert, “no, no, no, it’s really all right. It’s an honor to be living in the suite.” If Jinyoung’s villa is where Mark stays for the rest of his Korea’s mission trip, he’ll probably returns back home tattered and boneless with a face that even his own beloved mother wouldn’t even recognizes.

“Okay, but if you change your mind-“

“I will not change my mind anytime soon, sir, thank you.”

Nodding and quirking an eyebrow at the agent’s absolute words, JYP decided to let that matter slide, since he knows how hateful those two are to each other. Moving on, JYP picked up a black folder. On cue, Mark walked closer to the Chief Commander’s desk, hands outstretched to receive the documents.

“I’m guessing you’ve already read through what your Boss had sent you,” JYP observed the young agent who’s now flipping through the pages from the folder.

Mark nodded, allowing his authority to resurfaces for a bit as the leader of the Operation. During the past two weeks, he had done some research on his own about the case. Even with his masterful hacking skills, Mark couldn’t find much to add on to what’s already been written in the reports.

“This is a massive human trafficking chain that’s been going on since five Decembers ago,” Mark began, “it connects the Russian line with the South Korean’s and a part of Brazilian. Since last March, it seemed like the Saudi Arabian is added to this madness. It’s been five years and we haven’t found anything useful to expose these inhumane acts. However, just this summer, the C.I.A. discovered a crucial evident: the start of the chain lies right here on Korea’s soil.”

JYP felt shameful under the intensity of Agent Tuan’s words. Continuing, Mark flipped over to a page with photos of men, women, and children tied to a pole, all stripped and soaked in their own blood from cuts and bruises. “My mission is to stop this, no matter how long it takes me. And I am allowed to use all resources and any forces I need. Operation Phoenix is now officially open. Chief Commander Park, you are welcome to recommend any agents trained enough to assist me.”

“Yes, sir,” the Chief Commander removed himself from his comfortable seat and bowed to Mark, receiving his orders.

“Please, keep this discreet,” Mark’s request came out more as an order. “We don’t need rumors floating around. That’ll only scare away the bastards and it’ll be even harder to find them.”

“You can trust me, sir, you’re in good hands.”

“Great,” Mark closed the folder and smiled, “let’s all work hard!”

Smiling back, JYP found the foreigner adorably nice in a way. He couldn’t help but let his fatherly side takes over. “Would like to come to dinner with me tonight, Mark?”

“That would be fantastic, sir!” Mark’s smile grew wider at the generous offer of food.

“All right, meet me down at the lobby at seven.”

    “Will do, sir.”

Stretching, Mark groaned tiredly. It’s been a long day of walking around and finishing up paperworks. The agent was ready to get off his and head to dinner with his Boss. Casually looking over at the desk that’s placed perfectly in the middle at the back of the office near the huge glass window, Mark scoffed in disgust. It was a long day, but at least, he didn’t have to see that eyesore. Standing up, Mark took his suit jacket that’s hanging on the back of his chair and puts it on. He proceeded out of the room after mildly fixing his tie, attempting to look somewhat like he didn’t just spent the entire day straining his eyes to read boring- reports that’s meant to be the job of a certain co-worker.

Arriving in front of the lobby, Mark wasn’t the first one. Of course, the punctual Chief Commander was already there chatting happily with the newly promoted security agent, Lee Seungri, who’s now a proud receptionist of the facility.

“Actually, I’m going to dinner right now, Seungri, would you like to tag along?” JYP asked with his usual loving fatherly smile.

“That would be nice, sir, but I’m still on my shift,” Seungri shyly rubbed the back of his neck, “maybe next time?”

JYP softly chuckled, “all right, next time is it.”

“Hello, sir,” Mark greeted the older man with a humble smile. “Did you wait long?”

Turning to Mark’s deep mellow voice, JYP shook his head, “no, I just got here.”

“Good evening, Agent Lee,” Mark smiled.

“G-good evening, sir,” Seungri bowed respectfully, hoping to hide his little blush. Straight or not, when a gorgeous person like Mark Tuan smiles at you, you’re basically dead. Well, unmistakably, Mark took Jaebum’s title as the Most Hottest Agent and Jinyoung’s the Most Beautiful Agent as soon as the agent showed up in front of everyone to introduced himself.

The Chief Commander noticed the action and just laughs. Like they say, beauty wins over everything. It’s nice to be so young and incredibly flawless.

“So who else are we waiting for?” Mark asked while looking around the empty lobby.

“My dear sons,” JYP responded like it’s something raw and real to him.

Not even a minute later, Jaebum showed up and waved excitedly. Mark and JYP waved back. The Captain caught up and smiled, “you’re coming, too, Mark?”

“Yep, free food, come on,” the Vice Captain chuckled.

Mark looked past Jaebum’s shoulder and it hits him. If Jaebum’s here and JYP referred to his sons in plural, then it could only means-

“Sorry, I was held back to complete this assignment!” Jinyoung ran down from the elevator halls to the main lobby, smiling warmly.

Can Life be anymore evil. Mark sighed heavily. Awesome, now he’s spending the night with the person he mostly despise, who he couldn’t seem to find any likable aspects of. Jinyoung was feeling the same way as soon as he’s close enough to notice Mark.

Rolling his eyes, Jinyoung ignored the parasitic presence and greeted his Boss instead. Mark wasn’t planning on taking anymore bull tonight. He’s too ing tired. Jaebum had already bet that this dinner won’t be all butterflies and honeys. JYP lowkey starts regretting this planned dinner. He just wanted everyone to happily gets along…

And so, JYP thought, well, it

“Now that we’re all here, let’s split up,” the Chief Commander suggested cheerfully. “Jaebum, you can ride with me. And Mark, since you don’t have a car or Korean license yet, Jinyoung could take you.”

“Excuse me, sir?” Mark looked at JYP in disbelief.

Jinyoung just gaped, unsure of what he just heard right now.

“You heard me. Mark’s riding with Jinyoung,” the smile looked so ‘innocent’ on JYP’s face that Jaebum couldn’t help but turning his body away to hide his laughter. His Boss is definitely doing this on purpose. “Okay! Let’s go, Jaebum. We’ll meet at Seventh Heaven. Jinyoung, you know where that is, right? It’s one of Park Group’s fancy- restaurant chain,” and with that the two agents left the lobby, leaving the other two standing there frozen and shocked.

Seungri, who’s been there to witness everything, pipped in, “have fun, sirs!”

Jinyoung breaks from his trance and glared at Seungri. The said receptionist swore he felt the hands of Death caressing his cheeks in the most creepiest manner, like it was the last comfort before his soul gets taken away.

Mark scoffed and walked out, honestly not knowing where he’s supposed to go to find Jinyoung’s car. But the more he stands there, the more he wants to lash out and choke the brat and slowly watches the Chairman's life slipping away.

Waling out after, but already zooming ahead of Mark, Jinyoung reached the parking lot and stopped at an expensive deep red Ferrari of the newest model. Mark wasn’t even surprised. That car is the shiniest car in the entire lot, extremely noticeable of class and wealth. He was just surprised that Jinyoung is standing next to the passenger’s side. Seeing his enemy approached, the Chairman stuffs his hand into his pants pocket and took out the keys and threw it. Mark caught it with grace and a scowl.

Sneering at Mark’s reaction, Jinyoung opens the door and got in. Mark was left scoffing and rolling his eyes. “What a ,” the agent muttered under his breath as he stared through the car’s darken windshield.

Getting in to the car, Mark was fuming with rage that’s he’s trying to control. He settled himself with the seatbelt snuggly draped over his upper body, Mark started the engine. Although he hates its owner, but Mark have to admit, this Ferrari is sweet. The roaring of its engine brings chills down the agent’s spine.

“Where are we going?” Mark asked as he backed out of the parking with one hand expertly on the wheel and the other casually rested on the top of the passenger’s seat.

    “Seventh Heaven,” was the answer.

“You expect me to know where the Hell that is?”

    “GPS.”

Sighing, Mark punched in the name of the restaurant in the navigator patiently. When the directions were set up, Mark starts following the robotic voice and drove out to the intersections.

“Why am I driving you? I don’t even have a license?” Mark decided to talk a bit to ease this suffocating atmosphere in the car. He thought maybe they two lacked proper communication that’s why they can’t stand each other, so maybe a little talking of getting-to-know-each-other-better would help?

Jinyoung crossed his arms against his chest sassily, “there’s a stray dog lying around doing nothing, so might as well. Besides, out of that building, I’m the King of the world, so I can do whatever I want.”

“How arrogant,” Mark scoffed, “what if we get caught and I have to take out my license?”

“The government won’t dare go against my will,” Jinyoung smirked, fully confident in whatever he’s saying, “however, if I want them to, they’ll just punish you only and leave me out of it.”

    “Petty.”

    “Drive, Mark.”

“You don’t get to call me causally like that.”

    “Mark.”

    “I said-“

    “Mark. Tuan.”

Giving up, Mark chose to ignore it. Arguing while driving on the highway isn’t going to work out prettily. The silence was swallowing them alive. Jinyoung couldn’t hold it anymore, so he reached out to turn on the music, but his hand was quickly caught by Mark’s cold one.
Jinyoung looked up and stared at Mark with wide eyes.

“What are you doing?” The younger agent asked through a fiery glare.

    “No music,” Mark answered.

Scoffing, Jinyoung tries to break free but his movement only made Mark squeezed harder. “This is my car,” the stubborn agent reminded his enemy.

“I’m the driver, so I have the authority to do whatever,” Mark sternly said as he turned his head to the side, staring deadly into Jinyoung’s furious gaze. The car was still moving smoothly with Mark’s experienced one-hand driving.

“Keep your eyes on the road, Tuan,” Jinyoung commanded, a bit taken back by Mark’s daring action, but of course, the Chairman wouldn’t show it.

Mark didn’t answer, but rather continued their little staring game of hatred. Annoyed, Jinyoung roughly pulls his hand out of Mark’s grasp and broke their contact. While rubbing his hurt hand, Jinyoung repeated his order again, “eyes on the ing road.”

Slowly, the order took effect and Mark returned back to focusing on driving as well as listening to the GPS. For the rest of that ride, no words were exchanged. There were just a lot of glaring into the windshield and burning holes on the door’s windows. Mark finally found a parking space after going around and around the huge lot filled with so many expensive vehicles of rich people. Once the car was parked, Jinyoung immediately got out and slammed the door hard. Mark followed out but didn’t go until he made sure the beautiful car was okay from that harsh treatment of its owner. He decided to pocket the keys since he’s predicting he'd have to drive the young master back anyways.

“You guys came on time!” JYP cheered as he saw his other two agents approaching, each one with a matching frown on their bright faces. “It’s hard to find parking, huh?”

“Very, sir,” Mark replied, attempting to at least crack a small smile.

“Well, this place is very famous among the first-class,” the Chief Commander smiled, looking at Jinyoung.

“It was before I took the reign,” Jinyoung grinned, pretty proud with his accomplishment. “My parents were too busy managing other chains that they forgot about the importance of culinary.”

Mark have got to admit, Seventh Heaven really looks and gives off the feel that you’re actually in heaven. Don’t get him wrong. He’ll give credits when it’s due. Chairman Park did a fine job reshaping the once dull and neglected restaurant.

Jinyoung looked around when they entered the extravagantly massive place. He couldn’t help but feel pride and happiness. Seventh Heaven is his most treasured chain right after the main one, Park’s International Corporations, which dealt with stocks and finances along with EVERYTHING that’s relating to the nation’s and world’s economy. All of it under one prodigiously powerful name of Park Group. And Park Jinyoung is the Chairman, the top man, the Boss, of it all.

“Welcome, how many people are- Oh, my God. C-Chairman, sir,” the waiter, who’s dressed in uniformed expensive black slacks with a pale blue button-up and onyx vest that’s hugging the outline of his body perfectly gasped and ‘panic' was written all over his face. “S-sir, I-I, wel-welcome, sir!” He bowed in a full ninety degrees and immediately went behind his desk and picked up the phone, dialing the Head Manager.

The manager heard the news and ran down the stairs like crazy. Every other employees rushed down, too, to greet their Boss. Mark quirked an eyebrow, thinking this whole scene is completely unnecessary. Jaebum and JYP sighed; this wasn’t the first time it had happened.

“Chairman Park, you’ve come, sir,” the Head Manger, with the name tag that reads ‘Jung Yunho,’ bowed, and everyone else that was standing behind him also bowed. “What can we help you with today, sir?” Head Manager Jung was a handsome man with a calming posture, very mature and efficient.

Mark smirked, just my type. Not even care if he’s giving himself away. His biuality isn’t a big deal now that every agent finds out about his flirtatious nature and seductive-self dancing around with both men and women throughout the past two weeks since he had arrived. Somehow Mark have already winks playfully and smiles teasingly with oozing amount of natural charms at everyone he came in contact with, not with the elders of course and Park Jinyoung, but he didn’t do anything since it’s a workplace and self-indulged pleasure is sort of forbidden. But they’re aren’t at work right now though. A little playing around wouldn’t hurt.

“Open up a V.I.P. room,” Jinyoung simply ordered.

“Yes, sir,” Yunho quickly turned around to the group of employees behind him and began giving commands for them to hurried and prepare the dinner for their Chairman. “Your room will be ready immediately, sir,” the Head Manager stepped aside, opening way to a beautiful staircase that leads to the second floor.

“I’m on the second floor today?” The Chairman tilted his head, confused because he’s used to be put on the top floor, floor seventh.

With wide eyes, Yunho shook his head frantically, “of course not, sir! I thought you weren’t dinning tonight.”

“Then why am I here if I wasn't dining?” Jinyoung pressed on, eyes hard and haunting like a hawk spying on its prey.

Unable to look up at his Boss, Yunho kept his head down and tried his best to calmly answered, “we received news that you’ll be dinning at Empire, sir, that’s why… I’m so sorry, sir! I’ll fix this right away.”

    “I-“

“Hey, it’s okay,” Mark interrupted Jinyoung. His eyes sparkling prettily as he looks at Yunho, who’s surprised but still finds Mark’s alluring gaze too attractive for a man. “No need to worry. Just continue doing your job.”

And with a smile, Mark successfully captivated Yunho’s full attention, leaving the manager to wonder why the hell is his heart skipping beats at the presence of a man. Jinyoung scoffed, wanting to get rid of whatever flowery atmosphere that’s creating itself. “Go and open a room on the top floor.”

It took a while for Yunho to snap out of it and breaks away from Mark’s dominating eye contact. “Y-y-yes, sir!” He bowed and quickly his heels.

Mark’s eyes followed Yunho’s figure hungrily. It’s been a while since he got laid. Jinyoung rolled his eyes and walked forward, heading to the glass elevators. JYP bit back a smirk and followed after. Jaebum patted Mark’s shoulder and kindly advised, “we’re here to eat, my dear friend. Please, don’t do anything unnecessary.”

“If we’re here to eat, then he can be my appetizer,” Mark smiled and patted Jaebum’s shoulder, responding back to his best friend’s gesture. “Don’t worry. Even if I do something, I’ll make sure he finishes preparing dinner for his Boss first.”

Jaebum just laughs and shook his head, “you never change, Mark. God, I love you.”

“I know,” Mark winked and smirked.

They both walked together to the elevators. Jinyoung and JYP had already boarded the first one and went up. The two best friends were left behind. Jaebum sighed and turned to Mark with curiosity, “I noticed you looked at everyone in our building with ulterior dirty motives, but you don’t even spare our Vice a glance?”

Chuckling, Mark shook his head lightly, “have you not seen how we are with each other?”

    “You right.”

It’s not that Mark didn’t find Jinyoung any attractive. , he knows his co-Vice is handsome and hot as Hell. Jinyoung has a defined beauty that’s rare in Mark’s eyes. Mark isn’t ashamed to admit that he sometimes do casually checks out his co-worker. And he sometimes do curses at how sinful that uniformed agent suit looks on Jinyoung, so perfectly fitting and royally elegant, hugging around his body and long legs like a second skin. Park Jinyoung is beautiful. Mark is very, very, very attracted. But Jinyoung’s personality just throws the American agent off. He hates Jinyoung as a person. He hates the way Jinyoung arrogantly carries himself. He hates the way Jinyoung’s attitude is that of a spoiled little brat. He hates the way everything that comes out of Jinyoung’s mouth is full of demands and anger. Mark had met a lot of young masters before, Im Jaebum being one of them, but Park Jinyoung is the worse of the worse.

Sure, Mark would totally Jinyoung, but he wouldn’t choose to be with someone that powerful and that full-of-himself. It’s dangerous to meddle with those type of people. Mark is physically attracted, but his hate for Jinyoung is so strong that no matter how able the Chairman is, the agent wouldn’t fall for it.

“You know,” Jaebum said as they stepped out of the elevator, “you don’t have to like someone to them.”

Mark turned to his best friend, raising his eyebrows in question.

“I mean,” Jaebum smirked, “for you, love is just a past-time pleasure.”

“How the Hell did this convo steered to the topic of love, Jaebum?”

Jaebum shrugged, “I just thought you guys -you and Jinyoung- could get along well, since you’ve never hated someone this much. I've known you my whole life, Mark. You're the kindest and friendliest person I probably know. You don't hate... I don’t know. It’s been a long time since we’ve last seen each other. I thought maybe-“

“Worry about yourself, Im,” Mark laughed, finally getting where Jaebum’s going with this whole conversation. “You don’t even know how to love.”

“Excuse you, but I actually do-“

“No, you don’t. We’re the pitiful ones, remember? You can’t love and can’t find another meaning in love,” Mark smiled, reminiscing their college days together.

“Then Jinyoung counts as a pitiful one, too,” Jaebum beamed. “I can’t love, you can’t find another meaning in love, and Jinyoung, he don’t have the reason to love.”
