Vibrating Phones
Friends and Neighbors ~ NamjinJin’s POV
The rest of the day’s classes fly by, with little of my attention. The band situation has almost entirely clouded my mind. Daydreams, fear, anxiety, and self doubt are among the many feelings of the topic. Normally I would never do something like this, but the look on Tae’s face brought out my inner brother, and I didn’t want to let him down. I at least got to say that I didn’t want a stage name. I would already be going out of my comfort zone, and I’d rather go by my real name than to have a stage name follow me. It helped that Jimin felt the same. The dismissal bell rings and I am awaken from my thoughts. I pack my stuff and head to the bus. I see Tae, Yoongi, and Namjoon already boarding the bus as I jog to catch up. I see that they are sitting in the same seating arrangements as this morning. I smile and sit next to Namjoon, who seems to be deep in thought.
“What are you thinking about?” I can’t help but ask.
“About the whole band thing,” he admits “It was really out of the blue.”
“Yeah,” I agree, “Thanks for being in the group. It really means a lot to Tae.”
He smiles back. “Not a problem, this may turn out pretty cool.”
I nod and smile. I look ahead and see Tae’s happy face bobbing with earbuds. I smile more knowing that his hard work was going to be worth it.
The rest of the bus ride is pretty relaxed, all of us doing our own things. My racing mind makes the rest of the ride go by quickly. Soon Namjoon, Tae, and I are getting off the bus and walking home. This time instead of a dance war we just end up having a normal conversations about school. Soon enough we arrive at our houses.
“Bye Namjoon.” I wave as Namjoon heads to his house.
“Don’t worry Jin, we’ll see him soon enough. We can make a pie just in case.” He snicked.
I go to swat his arm, but he is already running away laughing. Namjoon is laughing too.
“I’m going to have to bring my own ammo.” He teases.
I huff and head into the house.
“Whatever creams your twinkie.” I say and close the door, leaving the other two laughing outside. I can’t help but laugh a little too.
I head up to my room to actually do something useful...my make up work. I settle at my desk, take out my books, and get to work.
I am most of the way done with my work when I hear my phone make a notifaction. I open it and see I’ve been included in a group text. It’s from Tae.
Tae: Hey guys, first band meeting tomorrow. Don’t forget. Try and think of stage names, and certainly a band name. Fur
