Baekhyun ran,

He ran faster than he ever had,

he was pushing himself beyond his limits,

and it felt great.

Sweat covered his , he could hear the sand crunch underneath his boots with every step he took. He wasn't tired yet, he could keep going. For once, he was actually running next to Chanyeol, instead of behind him. He squeezed his eyes shut and clenched his teeth, then let out a yell of anguish. Chanyeol simply smiled in admiration, while looking ahead. He was secretly very proud of little Baekhyun, he loved seeing him put in so much effort to catch up to everone else.

After a few minutes, Chanyeol realized that Baekhyun was falling behind. So he slows down a bit, but when Baekhyun sees this he smiles but then he pushes Chanyeol away from him. Chanyeol nods in understanding, knowing that Baekhyun wants to surpass him on his own. Chanyeol loves this stubborn part of Baekhyun.

Jongdae and Minseok, and almost everybody in line, had witnessed the interaction, and all had raised eyebrows. Kyungsoo had noticed all the turned heads, and was slightly very annoyed about the lack of focus on training. He blew his shrill whistle and yelled:

"YOU ALL HAVE FIVE MINUTES TO FINISH ANOTHER TWO LAPS AROUND THE BASE! I DON'T CARE HOW YOU DO IT, BUT IF YOU DON'T DO IT IN TIME........NO LUNCH, AND DINNER TONIGHT OR BREAKFAST TOMORROW!"

Shouts and yells and even screams were heard, before evryone frantically began flying forwards. Baekhyun gasped, they had finished over 55 laps, and that was his personal record, but to add on even more. He felt like he was about to collapse, maybe food wasn't worth it.

"OH! AND ALL OF YOU HAVE TO MAKE IT IN TIME!"

Baekhyun's head snapped up, and he flung his body forward. He didn't care if his body was almost lifeless, he was NOT going to be the reason 100 soldiers had to starve for the next 24 hours. But despite his strong will to run, Baekhyun's body could only take so much, and his breathing was starting to become ragged. 

Chanyeol was running as fast as legs would go, but he was in such a hurry he hadn't realized that Baekhyun had gone from running to a slow jog. He was way behind the group A pained expression was on his face, Chanyeol felt a small tug in his heart. He immediately turned around.

Baekhyun looked up and saw everyone way ahead of him, their backs getting further and further away, he tried to even out his breathing and go faster, but his efforts were in vain. He only seemed to go slower. He looked up again, to see something that made him happier than he should've been. It was Chanyeol, he was running towards Baekhyun, his hair was being pushed away from his face by the wind, and his facial features were all shinig beneath the sun. As Baekhyun stared at him, his soul lifted. He smiled his signature eye smile, and without realizing it, his hand  reached out for Chanyeol.

Chanyeol saw the small hand waiting for him, and ran faster. His eyes were half closed, keeping out the sand, but he could still see Baekhyun's blurred figure. He was almost there. Then, after what seemed like an eternity, he grasped Baekhyun's hand, and pulled him close.

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah"

"Let's go then"

Chanyeol picked Baekhyun up, and set him on his back, with his arms around his neck.

"Won't Sergeant Kyungsoo say tha-"

"He said that he didn't care how we did it"

Chanyeol smirked and rand forward, he seemed to have  gained a new supply of energy.

On the sidelines, Luhan was clapping while Kyungsoo simply stared at the two figures. 

"That deserved a ing Oscar", Luhan commented.

Kyungsoo sniggered,

"It was pretty dramatic"

"Park Chanyeol, the hero. Saves the damsel in distress, Byun Baekhyun", Luhan babbled in a dramatic tone.

Kyungsoo chuckled and shook his head.

"I wonder if this will turn into some kind of 'Descendants of the sun' ?" Luhan mused.

"Luhan"

"Yes?"

"Shut up"

The mess hall was full of sounds of people gulfing down bowlfuls of food. Not a single person was talking, everyone was too immersed in their meal. Few people were actually using utensils, most had resorted to using their fingers. Sighs of happiness filled the room when evryone had finished eating, then people began to chat quietly in contentment. Baekhyun closdd his eyes, and slid down in his chair, his head reaching the back of the chair. He felt exausted, but also happy  nonetheless. Chanyeol smiled down at him, and ruffled his hair.

Baekhyun had worked hard, for the three weeks he had been here, he hadn't rested for a moment. Baekhyun had done extra laps and exercises whenever he had free time. he had finished most of the books and manuals in Kyungsoo's office. He was also changing physically. His skin had become 2 shades darker, his pale translucent skin was completely gone. His arms and body had become slightly toned, and muscles had begun to form.

"He's gotten even more attractive. If that's even possible", Chanyeol gulped.

Baekhyun opened his eyes, Chanyeol looked away, but Baekhyun had noticed him staring at him, and he just registered exactly how cute Chanyeol could be. It suddenly dawned over him, that he loved everything about Chanyeol. From the way he made cocky remarks to make Baekhyun laugh, to the way he made sure Baekhyun was always comfortable and never in pain. Baekhyun loved it all. 

Baekhyun loved Chanyeol.
