Human

Human

Sunggyu arrived to his house and threw his car keys to some random corner while Nam Woohyun followed him and closed the door behind him. The older man took off his jacket and looked to the other man with curious eyes and he didn't know if he should scream, cry or just laugh about all of this. Nam Woohyun on the other hand looked serious and wasn't saying a word, not a single one which was something to be called weird. Putting one hand on his hip, Sunggyu passed his other hand on his hair and then looked to the other man who stood still in his place. This was like fifth dimension, it made no sense! How could that be possible? How could he not notice it before? He knew he hardly noticed things like that, but even so, that was just...stupid! He should have noticed it. He should have! “Are you serious?” He asked and he saw the annoyed look the younger man was giving him. “Of course I am! For god's sake, I was there!” Sunggyu started biting his lower lip and didn't know how to answer it.

“But it makes no sense!” Sunggyu said almost shouting and Nam Woohyun just glared to the older man, like he was offended in a way, and that was something seriously weird. “I'm sorry, but that's the way it is!” He answered coldly. Sunggyu couldn't help but stare. It was like someone switched Nam Woohyun for this man. The Nam Woohyun he met that night was hyper, annoying and was always smiling while this one was staring at him coldly, wasn't nice at all and was a little mean. It was like he was....Sunggyu. How could someone change so much in such a short period of time. He took a deep breath trying to calm down and continued staring to Nam Woohyun was there, waiting for the man to say something, anything. “You.....” He tried to calm himself. He wasn't like that. He was a rational person. He always knew what he had to say, he always knew what he had to do. He had to go back to who he was and control this situation before it was Nam Woohyun who controlled it and he wouldn't like that one bit. “You're my student?”

Nam Woohyun looked at him with intense eyes, something that made Sunggyu very uncomfortable. It was a hate stare, quit the opposite and that was why it made Sunggyu wish he would stop that. If it was hate, he could easily ignore it and wouldn't even pay attention to it. “How could you not recognize me as soon I knocked at your door? I've been your student for years!” It was Sunggyu's time to glare. “You should know I never memorize my students faces.” Nam Woohyun just rolled his eyes annoyed, not pleased with the answer. “And you're 25! You should be out of college!” This time the younger man just chuckled and smirked, not believing what he was hearing. Was his teacher for real? No, really? Because he just didn't know what was happening there. “I'm taking a freaking master's degree with you! And that class has like....4 people! And I'm the only guy!” the tables had turned. Nam Woohyun was losing his relaxed, calm posture and Sunggyu was going to take advantage of that, even thought he didn't know how.

But he couldn't say he wasn't surprised, because he was. He was trying to remember if he ever saw Nam Woohyun in any of his classes, but all he could see were shapes. He didn't remember any of his students faces. It was something had to work on, he knew that. “I'm the only student that ever managed to get a stupid 80% with you!” With that, Sunggyu looked to him with full attention. It was like his brain had stopped working when he heard that, but he didn't even knew why. “Wait...you were the student that wrote that essay about society?” He asked and Nam Woohyun nodded. “How is it possible? You come here, you pretend you're as dumb as a door, you act like a stupid delinquent, you mess up my apartment, but then you turn out to be the most brilliant student I ever had!”

“I can't be that brilliant if you never noticed me! Not even once!” Sunggyu noticed how the other man's voice started cracking and his hands shacking. He looked down to his feet and the older one couldn't help but raise a brow. “You come to my apartment and you even act like I'm a total stranger! You're a stalker!” He didn't meant that, he really didn't, he just wanted to get Nam Woohyun's attention because he wanted to clear up things once and for all. Why was such a brilliant person, one of the best, acted like a complete fool that couldn't even eat or write his own name straight? “I'm not a stalker!” Nam Woohyun defended himself. “Sure. Of course you aren't! But you did noticed me when I started like acting like I was an alcoholic! When I was Mister goody two shoes you didn't noticed me! I doubt you even knew my name!”

To that Sunggyu had no defense, he really didn't. Even if he started thinking about a plausible comeback, it would take him a while. He saw Nam Woohyun walking towards him gently, like he was afraid of something. “....Now, you know my name...and age! It's more than I ever thought you would know.” The older still didn't said a thing. He gave a couple of steps backwards, feeling like Nam Woohyun was invading his personal space. He hated when people got closer to him. He only allowed Dongwoo to do it because his friend had no idea what the word boundaries meant and wasn't going to work on finding out. “I've worked so hard. To be your best student, to be the only student you could remember....but no. No matter what I do, you won't look at me!” For Sunggyu this sounded so much like a prepared speech, like Nam Woohyun had worked on it for a long time before he found the perfect opportunity to say it.

“But all you care is...your books! Your books are the only thing that matter to you.” He paused and Sunggyu couldn't help but notice how close the younger man was. He wasn't liking that one bit. He needed space, he needed space to breath. He giving more steps backwards but stopped as soon Nam Woohyun opened his mouth to speak again. “....that and Hoya...” If that didn't got his attention, nothing would. The younger moved closer and before Sunggyu knew it, his back was hitting the wall and Nam Woohyun was inches away from him. There was almost no distance between the two of them, and he couldn't breath, and it became even worst when Nam Woohyun touched his chest. He was feeling dizzy and ready to shout. He hated people touching him, he hated people on his personal space. It was personal for some reason. “Why couldn't you see...in all those essays I wrote....that I have feelings for you? Why couldn't you hear it in the way I talked about your favorite novels that I feel the exact same way the lead characters feel for each other?” He paused and Sunggyu just continued wishing Nam Woohyun would disappear from the face of the earth. “Why can't you see I love you?”

Hearing this Sunggyu pushed the younger man away and cleaned his sweat. He couldn't believe he was sweating. What was wrong with him? “....Sunggyu-” Before he could continue, Sunggyu raised his hand to stop him. “Don't even talk! It's my turn to speak!” Nam Woohyun closed his mouth and waited. He had nothing else to lose, so he just waited, like always. “How can you say you love me? You don't even know me, and I'm your teacher!” Nam Woohyun just looked to the older man and didn't said a word, he just waited for Sunggyu to finish. “You come here, you lie, you ask me for help which for a second I thought you needed, and then you destroy my apartment, you act all friendly next to my friends and the you drop a bomb like that! Am I suppose to feel flattered?” Sunggyu asked and Nam Woohyun noticed it was his cue to speak.

“No, you don't have to feel flattered.” He started and Sunggyu continued looking at him. “I just wanted one chance. It was all I wanted. You wouldn't look at me, you would ignore my romantic, old fashion way of confessing to you. And it worked. You finally noticed me! You finally realized I'm a human being and you finally know my face!” Sunggyu didn't know what to say to all of that. This was like something out of a book. It he was reading this he would find incredibly romantic but in real life, he couldn't help but think it was weird, scary and frightening. “And the help thing? You don't need help, you are perfect, you're alright!” Nam Woohyun looked down to his feet and took a deep breath. “I'm not alright.” Sunggyu continued looking at him and couldn't help but raise a brow. Was this going to be another scheme for him to get what he wanted? “Oh really? What is it then? Your essay had a 79%?” He asked and he completely ignored the younger man's hurt face. “No...” Nam Woohyun paused and took a deep breath. He was shacking, like he was about to cry, and Sunggyu hated when people cried. “Tell me the truth! Now!” Sunggyu almost ordered and Nam Woohyun looked at him with scared eyes. “I...I'm dying...”
