Yuri was momentarily stuck in her position where Tiffany left her, unable to fathom where Tiffany meant she wouldn’t get into a relationship with Jessica or she wouldn’t get involved with Jessica as long as Yuri hadn’t found her own happiness. Either way, Yuri didn’t know if Tiffany would ever be peaceful because Yuri couldn’t see any future with a relationship anymore.

“Yul?”

Yoona flinched when Yuri unconsciously brushed her arm off, her hand suspended in mid-air. She was the one left in the kitchen after Yuri locked herself in her own room; Yoona looked as if she had been stung by a bee. She didn’t know what to feel; Yuri had never brushed her off in any circumstances but it just happened and Yoona didn’t know what to do with herself.

While Hyoyeon, Sooyoung and Sunny had followed after Yuri to make sure she was okay, the remaining two girls couldn’t help but stare at Yoona worriedly; they knew how nicely Yuri treated her all the time and it must have come off as a shock that Yoona could be brushed off like that. If the rest of them could be stunned in that manner, there was no saying how Yoona must be feeling at the moment.

“Y-Yoona?”

Taeyeon slowly approached Yoona and gently pulled the younger one into a hug, rubbing her back tenderly. She was worried at the lack of reaction coming from Yoona, “Yoona, answer me. Are you okay?” Taeyeon finally felt Yoona respond to the hug, wrapping her arms around Taeyeon’s small frame in return; Yoona felt herself losing strength in that embrace, and her tears started to flow. 

A part of Yoona knew that Yuri was conscious of what she was doing but she deeply hoped that Yuri was not conscious of her current actions; it would kill her to know that Yuri pushed her hand away despite knowing that Yoona was only being concerned and not nosy. Yet, thinking about it again, Yoona couldn’t help but be worried about both Tiffany and Jessica as well – Yuri would also be feeling guilty if Tiffany was not going to be with Jessica if Yuri was single.

“U-Unnie…” Yoona whimpered, “what if… what if Yuri’s n-never going to l-look at me?”

“Oh God, no…” Taeyeon broke the hug and cupped Yoona’s face, “you know your best friend better than all of us do, Yoona. All she needs is some time to calm down and think about the situation with Tiffany… don’t worry, give her some time; Yul is a clever girl, she will know what to do. ”

It was so hard to be positive, and Yoona wondered how in the world Yuri could be so all the time; the other person who was as bright and positive was Tiffany – it made Yoona wonder if these two were meant to have their fates played with. To make things even more coincidental, Yuri and Tiffany were so close and they were always stuck at the hips during their tours or concerts. 

“I don’t want her to be with me out of pity though.”

Taeyeon glared at Yoona and shook the younger one a little, “do you really think Yuri would do something like that?”

No answer came.

Sunny and Sooyoung were simply watching Yuri without a word, knowing that when Yuri was in this state, it was better not to go near her at all – Yuri wasn’t crying, she wasn’t smiling or anything like that but she was simply staring at the ceiling without a word. The only person who usually got Yuri out of this state was Yoona, but there was hardly any chance of happening after the scene at the kitchen.

“Yul.”

“What, Hyo?”

Hyoyeon didn’t want Yuri to snap at her in any way, but she didn’t want this to cause a feud between Yoona and Yuri; not when Yoona fancied the latter and was ready to mend her poor heart. Yoona was the one for Yuri, and Hyoyeon knew it - she was going to try her best to play matchmaker this time; the two of them deserved their happiness more than anything in the world. 

“Do you know how much hurt you’d have caused Yoona had you pushed her away harder?”

Yuri’s eyes immediately shot up and Hyoyeon jumped when she saw the gaze in the latter’s eyes; it was never good to be around Yuri when she had unreadable expressions. Hyoyeon was about to step way from Yuri when Yuri grabbed her by the shoulders, shaking her furiously. 

“I pushed Yoona away?” Yuri asked, her puppy eyes widening with fear; her brain had already stopped functioning when Tiffany said those words to her, “when? Oh my God, I didn’t mean to.... is she okay?”

Sunny stared at Yuri in utter confusion; Yuri didn’t seem to have any recollection of brushing Yoona’s hands off her shoulder. She knew that Yuri wouldn’t do that because it would remind Yoona off her mother leaving her and throwing her away but it seemed as if Yuri was aware back then. Looking at things now, Yuri might have been too deep in her thoughts that she didn’t realize what happened a while ago.

“You should go check on her if y—YAH!”
