.Chapter 4.
The Jinxed Vampire
Dongwoo bit his bottom lip in sheer concentration, as he turned leaf and leafs of the book that was currently in his hand, trying to find any relevant or useful information from it. Slamming shut the book, after failing in his task, Dongwoo walk down the aisle in search for something better.
Walking by the large shelfs, he did a double take once a blood red cover caught his eye. It held a weird kind of gravity that Dongwoo couldn’t explain… unintentionally his hand reached out to take that book. With his heart thumping loudly and his hand sweating slightly, he let the heavy book to fall open in the palm of his hands.
A deep frown touched his fair features and he quickly turned a few pages of the thick book… but it was all blank. Nothing, not a single word was scribble on the brown worn out pages. Dongwoo scratch the back of his head in confusion… why would anyone put a blank book here? In the Alpha’s section?
But shaking away the weird feeling he closed the book to return it to its original place when something small and thin fell out of it. Curious, Dongwoo bent down to retrieve the fallen thing and on closer inspection it turned out to be a small journal… Lee Sungyeol’s journal. Now Dongwoo was more than intrigued because as far as he knew his friend was not the type to keep a journal… writing and reading were not his elements… and the current Sungyeollie was a carefree spirit who spends his time roaming in the forest more than in this library, but then again he was not allowed in this part of library just yet.
Opening the first page the thing that caught Dongwoo’s attention was the small date scribbled at the corner of the slightly worn out page and he was shocked to learn it was dated a straight 100 years back. Full of curiosity Dongwoo began to read and he had just read a few pages when his eyes ballooned out and a mixture of confusion, surprise and somewhat fear took over him.
Without his even knowing his chest started to congest as few things that happened twenty years back started making a little sense to him. Worried and scared Dongwoo shoved the small journal in an inner pocket of his long cloak and picking the blood red cover book he exited the library. He knew he had to tell this to someone… preferably Sungyeol but seeing how he was just a kid, Dongwoo deemed it necessary to seek out the current Alpha first.
“Alpha!” Dongwoo cried as soon as he stumbled inside the Alpha’s personal chamber, and he was glad to find him sitting on a study table reading in the soft glow of a burning candle.
“Dongwoo Hyung?” Sungjong inquired in a surprise tone. He quickly shut the book he was reading and rushed toward the slightly panting werewolf. “Hyung, are you alright? You look worried and scared…”
“Because I am worried and scared… I found something-”
“Sungjong?” A distress and worried feminine voice shouted as the door of the chamber was thrown open. The earlier two wolves who occupied the room quickly turned toward the call.
“What is it, Hwa?” Sungjong’s panic level roused looking at his near tears mate.
“Sungjong…” The Alpha’s mate choked slightly. “Sungjong, Sungyeol still hasn’t return and its way pass sun set.”
“What? That is really irresponsible of him.” Sungjong frowned in slight irritation. He had given his son all the freedom he demanded, despite what the tribe’s elders say, but Sungyeol knew the basic rule was not to stay out longer after the sun has set. “I will just ask Hoya Hyung to send a couple of boys-”
“I already asked him to do that but, Sungjong, I am having a really bad feeling… I think our Sungyeollie is in trouble.” The Alpha’s mates face sheen with worry.
The Alpha quickly gathered his mate to provide her with comfort as he tried to assure her, “Don’t worry, I am sure-”
“Alpha!” yet another call of Alpha resonated the vast chamber and in came the General of their Army, looking rattled. “I sent 10 pups to search in the forest… they have traced Sungyeol’s scent from the c
