Best (Texting) Friend

“Will you please listen to me at least once, Kim Myungsoo?!” Sungyeol shouted desperately, not being able to take his mate’s nonchalant behavior like Sungyeol didn’t even existed when the younger had been trying to gain the others attention. “Let me go back! I will explain everything to my Clan… I would convince them not to attack Kim Clan. You just have to let me go home, once.”

An ominous silence descended upon the large room, Sungyeol waited with a tense stance and it didn’t helped that he and Myungsoo were not alone but rather nearly two hundred- minus the few still standing guard- Vampires stood in the same room while staring with wide eyes and opened mouth, at them.

Myungsoo heaved a long suffering sigh and Sungyeol braced himself to hear a grave scolding from the elder.

“That is why I wasn’t interested in hearing what you have to say, I knew you were gonna spatter some nonsense at me,” Even if Myungsoo’s voice was calm and leveled but the blow of insult washed over Sungyeol harshly, before he could retort someone else beat him to that.

“How is that nonsense?” Woohyun demanded, pulling Myungsoo to face him. “I think what Sungyeol is saying makes sense. We don’t have much time left Myungsoo… first you don’t seemed interested in letting any of us know what you have planned. Then you are disregarding Sungyeol’s plan without even giving it a thought-”

“I have already given it a thought, okay?” Myungsoo retorted with rigid jaws. “And the answer is NO!”

“But Myungsoo-” Sungyeol started miserably.

“I am not sending you back, and that is final!” Myungsoo said decidedly, his eyes flashing dangerously. “If I let you go once, you would never come back-”

“I would,” Sungyeol insisted, but Myungsoo shook his head at the other.

“No you won’t Sungyeol. The moment you go back to your Clan, your family, wouldn’t let you come back to me ever again. The witch is there with them… you don’t know her like I do. She would brain wash them against me and the moment they have you back they wouldn’t want to care about anything else… no matter what you tell them.”

“But we both have imprinted on each other, I would be howling in pain once away from you. They would understand and send me back, right?” Sungyeol’s voice kept fainting with each word, seeing how Myungsoo was shaking his head at him in pity, like Sungyeol was a small child whining to put his hands in the fire because he didn’t know any better.

“I have been around for a long time and have seen things that you being a pup can never imagine, Sungyeol.” Myungsoo informed the other, his eyes going hard. “All they have to do is lock you in a room with an unmated and alluring werewolf and your wolf would crumble under the pressure. Once mated, your and my bond would tone down easily.”

“You can’t be sure of that,” Sungyeol retorted angrily, not liking how Myungsoo was only thinking about keeping Sungyeol with him and not about his Clan. “And let’s suppose it does happen and they don’t let me out. You can always come to save me, right?”

“Meaning; it’s going there to fighting with Lee Clan to get you back OR staying here and fighting with Lee Clan to keep you with myself, right?” Myungsoo asked mockingly. “I think my options are quite clear to me, don’t you?”

“But if you try to think it from Sungyeol’s point of view, he does make sense.” Sunggyu threw in his two cents for whatever they were worth. “We know for a fact that his own Clan won’t hurt him so-”

“I am not taking any chances!” Myungsoo growled threateningly, making it clear to all present Vampires to not touch this subject again.

Suddenly the door of the (sort of) conference room was thrown opened and in came a frantic Heechul as he shouted; “The Lee Clan is on the move! My sources tell me they would be setting out by night fall and would be travelling toward west.”

“But we still have two nights before the full moon; does that mean they would be coming before that?” Woohyun asked sharply. This new information left everyone baffled, which would mean their assumptions were proven wrong.

“No,” Heechul contradicted quickly. “From what I have gathered, they think we don’t know about this attack plan of theirs and they believe they would be sneaking on us when our guards are down. The General of Lee Clan plans on getting their wolves’ proper rest and a good survey of our boundary before launching the attack.”

“This is bad, this is really bad!” Sungyeol hollered while grasping his hairs tightly. “This means General Hoya would be coming with the whole army!”

“It’s okay,” Kangin muttered calmly. “It’s nothing we haven’t seen before.”

“Yeah, we are older and more experienced. Those mutts can’t do anything to us.” Yesung mused calmly.

“I was already craving some action,” Jongin chipped in, excitement visible on his features.

“I just wish we can get over the fight soon enough… I don’t like it if it lags off,” Ryeowook sassed while picking on his cuticles.

Sungyeol felt like screaming at the top of his voice and he mentally face palmed himself a couple of times, wondering what even goes through these Vampire’s heads. Didn’t they realize what kind of danger lay ahead?? Didn’t they realize that they could die in the coming horrendous war? That some of them can lose their mates?? Why were they talking like they were discussing their dinner menu, even if Sungyeol knew their menu only ever holds one thing, but still!!

“Just tell us the plan, Myungsoo. You know we would stand beside you, no matter what.” Minseok said, leaning against the wall in quite a luxury.

“The plan is simple,” Myungsoo started, with a bitter smile sitting on his slightly twisted lips. “Let Lee Clan come… I would meet them outside the boundary, to keep the spell around the Mansion intact.”

“What do you mean you will meet them outside the boundary?” Minseok asked sharply, with his body tensing and Sungyeol noticed how every Vampire had gone rigid with same tension, making the young wolf to turn to look at his mate. Myungsoo had his eyes fixed on the ground before he suddenly snapped to look up and his eyes flashed a mixture of Gold and Red.

“This is my war and I would fight on my own,” Myungsoo declared decidedly.

There was uproar of protest but Sungyeol’s hearing has gone numb and he could only stand staring at his mat
