.Chapter 3.
The Jinxed Vampire
Sungyeol tapped his foot on the hard ground in pure nervousness with his eyes skipping, every now and then, to the large window right opposite to him, praying for the evening to arrive earlier than usual… something, the Alpha sitting a few feet away noticed as well.
“Sungyeol,” The Alpha’s warning filled voice reached the Alpha-to-be. “Concentrate on your book.”
Sungyeol pouted deeply and begrudgingly returned his attention back to the book plopped on the desk, right in front of him, as he sat in Alpha’s personal chamber. But it wasn’t long when he was back to his previous stance and seeing that Sungjong gave a heavy sigh before closing the book he was reading.
“Okay Fine! You are dismissed.” The Alpha gave up, knowing his son wouldn’t do as he was told anyways.
“Really?” Sungyeol’s big eyes shone brightly. “I can really leave?”
“Yes, you can indeed leave.” Sungjong gave a small chuckle at the happiness sheening on his son’s face.
“Great!” Sungyeol exclaimed as he started slamming all the books shut and quickly put those in a neat pile before getting up to leave already.
“Where are you going? You seem in a great hurry.” The Alpha asked, giving a suspicious look to his son who was turning eighteen after just one day but the excitement on his face making him look like a six year old lad.
“To the woods,” Sungyeol shouted before sprinting out of the Alpha’s chamber.
Coming out of the castle, Sungyeol contemplated to change into his wolf form to reach his desire place as soon as possible but rejected the thought knowing he was already going earlier than his original time, he didn’t want to go and wait for Myungsoo for long.
An excited bubble was ballooning inside Sungyeol as he treads on his way to meet his friend slash lover. The last time they have met, two days ago, the elder has emphasize on Sungyeol coming to meet him today, a day before his birthday, and Sungyeol was anticipating some special event for today.
The walk was long but not tiring, and the forest has started to grow darker by the time Sungyeol reached the small meadow he always met Myungsoo in. Looking between the tall trees he could see the Sun as half Orange and half yellow with streaks of colorful bands covering the sky surrounding the Sun, soon it would be setting and night would befall on them. But Sungyeol was not scared of the woods, if anything; he loves to spend his time in the forest more than anything.
Of course it was in his nature to love this green freedom rather than the confinements of the walls that the castle provided them. Even though the elders of his tribe had tried to stop Sungyeol from roaming the said forest as he pleases… something about the safety of their Alpha-to-be… but thankfully his father, The Alpha, doesn’t seem to agree. If it was Sungyeol’s own choice then he would leave that God forsaken castle and come and live in this very meadow, provided Myungsoo was allowed to live with him as well.
And talking about Myungsoo… where was he? He was never late.
Suddenly a pair of hands covered Sungyeol’s searching eyes and the smell of dirt, pine and sweat, Myungsoo’s natural scent that Sungyeol loved the most, teased his sensitive nose.
“Guess, who?” A melodious voice breathed in his ear.
“You are late,” Sungyeol said try
