“So you are trying to tell me that in order to break my curse all I have to do is… to be able to transform into a wolf?” Myungsoo asked disbelievingly while staring at the eager faces of three wolves that flanked around him. “That’s what your special book says?”

“Well not exactly…” Dongwoo chuckled in complete delight; not caring about Myungsoo’s nearly popped out eyes… when these wolves’ would stop playing with Myungsoo poor heart. “According to the Book… you need to be more connected toward your wolf in order to follow the ritual. And a werewolf is fully connected with his wolf once he learns to transform… I am guessing you have not transformed even once, yet.”

“Yes he hasn’t,” A loud and gleeful voice answered before Myungsoo could even open his mouth. Looking at his mate’s shinning face, Myungsoo couldn’t help but smile a little.

The Jinxed Vampire had been quite startled at Sungyeol’s boastful claim of finding the cure for his curse, back at the mansion. But putting his skeptical feeling behind, of course, he and his parents had demanded to know how? And as always, the skipping in excitement Sungyeol hadn’t bother replying… rather he had shot Myungsoo with questions of his own and the very first being ‘Can you transform into your wolf form?’ The moment his head had shook in a silent ‘No’ Sungyeol had shouted in glee and jumped in pure happiness and next thing the Vampire knew; he was being dragged by Sungyeol.

Now he sat on the fallen slab on the ruined building, he and his friends use as their personal hide out place, while he looked at three wolves and three Vampires that stood in front of him… each holding different expressions but Myungsoo’s eyes feasted only on Sungyeol’s expressions and he was content to see them happy and cheerful.

“I wanted to but I didn’t know how to,” Myungsoo mumbled, looking at Dongwoo. “I didn’t actually understand the mechanism that well.”

“Ah, of course.” Dongwoo nodded sympathetically. “No, young pups cannot learn on their own. One needs a mentor to guide you through each phase. But judging by what you said, I think you did try to transform at some point in your life.”

Myungsoo looked at the elder wolf and couldn’t help but think that he was quite intelligent and was quick to read between lines.

“Yes, I did tried once when my Sun-” Myungsoo stopped short before giving a discrete look to Sungyeol. The young wolf had indeed toned down his bright grin but the ghost of his smile still lingered as he gave a knowing look to him.

“The first Sungyeol wanted you to be able to transform, right?” Sungyeol asked, with no trace of bitterness in his voice, as his eyes flashed in understanding.

Myungsoo slightly shook his head before explaining, “No, he didn’t wanted me to be able to change per se… it was my own desire to do that. I wanted feel the kind of emotions he felt for me… I mean I loved him but the way he described ‘imprinting’ I wanted to feel that as well, that unconditional love you hold for your significant other-”

“Oh! So that’s what you meant when you told me you can’t imprint on me!” Sungyeol gasped loudly as understanding hit him before he turned toward the elder wolf. “Is that right, Dongwoo Hyung? So a werewolf can’t imprint unless he had transformed at least once?”

“Well, that does make sense,” Dongwoo nodded while rubbing his chin as he thought it over, with the rest of them staring at the wise wolf to feed their curiosities. “Technically, imprinting is a way in which a wolf connects with his significant other but if the said wolf had never been let out then how is he supposes to imprint?”

“But now what?” Kyuhyun chipped in, looking a little worried. “Only six full months are left before the blue moon year ends… it’s not enough time for Myungsoo to learn to connect with his wolf. It took us years of trainings before we were able to transform.”

“Blue moon year?” Sungyeol frowned slightly. “Dongwoo Hyung, you said this ritual didn’t require the necessity of being a Blue Moon year’s Full Moon, right?”

“True, there is no such restriction… according to what I have read this ritual requires just a Full Moon; it doesn’t even need to be at its peak or anything.” Dongwoo supplied, to the best of his knowledge.

“So that means we have a lot of time to solve this matter,” Kyuhyun seemed satisfied at the luxurious time they have but same couldn’t be said for Myungsoo and Sungyeol.

“Does it mean it can take years before I am able to transform?” Myungsoo asked, looking crestfallen… an expression his mate mirrored as both of them turned to look at Dongwoo, who- to their great delight- shook his head.

“That depends on the level of your closeness with your wolf,” Dongwoo explained calmly. “In case of young wolves’ they have absolutely no connection with their inner wolf so naturally it takes them more time to overcome this hurdle. But since you have lived with your wolf for 2000 years so you are bound to be closer to him… what do you think? How close you think you are with your wolf?”

Myungsoo held his silence as he contemplated what he should reply with because he himself had never thought about this before. Thinking back to his passed years he knew he would be able to get something from it.

“I… I can’t be sure but…” Myungsoo started with his eyes fixed on Dongwoo, who gave him an encouraging nod. “I think I am close with him… I mean when I am near Sungyeol, my wolf gnaws at me. I can feel his frustration at some points and even though it’s hard to calm him done but if I try hard… he does listen to me… well, sometimes.”

Dongwoo nodded looking pleased, “Just as I expected.”

“So does that mean he has a chance of transforming soon?” Minseok inquired, finally daring to open his mouth to jump into the ‘wolf’ talk. Obviously he was as curious as others because Yesung and Ryeowook also straightened up to listen to the reply.

“If Myungsoo works hard enough… I wouldn’t be surprise if he was able to transform before the next Full Moon.” Dongwoo replied confidently.

“And Dongwoo Hyung is a great mentor,” Sungyeol said, while giving a reassuring squeeze to Myungsoo’s shoulder, decreasing his stress by half. “Kyuhyun and I were able to transform within four years of our training while it usually takes five to six years, you know.”

“Four years?” Yesung mused, looking a little intrigued.

“Is that it? I just have to connect to my wolf and I break the curse?” Myungsoo inquired, not actually being able to buy that easily.

“No of course not, this is the first step of the ritual we were talking about… the ritual at the Full Moon.” Dongwoo answered, making Myungsoo to nod in understanding.

“What is the next step then?”

“Well, I am sorry… in all the excitement I forgot about it,” Sungyeol grinned sheepishly, before scratching his neck. “We still haven’t read the last two pages connected with this article, I am sure we would find about ritual in that. But the first and most important step is transforming… let’s focus on that first and I promise I would read the rest by tomorrow, alright?”

Myungsoo looked around at his friends and mate… feeling burdened and worried but he knew he needed to face reality one way or another. And for the sake of his Sungyeollie’s happiness, he was willing to do anything.

“Okay then let’s do it!” Myungsoo declared, gaining a beaming look from Sungyeol, before he turned toward Dongwoo once more. “Whenever you are ready to teach me, I am willing to learn.”

“Well, in case you haven’t noticed… I am kind of free now-a-days.” Dongwoo joked, since the elder wolf had been copped up in his so called room (cell), today would be the first day Myungsoo had deemed it okay to let the wolf out in the forest. “I would be here to help whenever you have time to get help.”

“Why don’t you start from today?” Kyuhyun suggested. “The faster, the better, right?”

“I agree,” Sungyeol was quick to second his friend’s words as he turned to look expectantly at Myungsoo.

The Vampire didn’t had anything else planned for today either and his Father had agreed to postponed his plan of attacking the Witch thus… he nodded and gain a quick nod from Dongwoo.

The elder wolf turned to survey the trees around them before his eyes came to rest at one specific area; he walked toward it before flumping down on the bare ground in Indian style while gesturing to the small area in front of him, “C

Chapter 25: wwoooaaahhh I LOVE THIS STORY <33
This story was awesome, I felt like read a book and watch movie at the same time.. If I didn't have to work, sleep and eat I would read this in one go, but yeah real life /shrugs/
well I will sum up my comment for this story and for Enemy or... Mate as well /grins/
like you said "Enemy or... Mate" was mysterious with an open ending, you left us hanging (and OFC wanting more) eventho it's already finished, But I was so glad you decided to write the sequel which lead me in awe about the plot (well as for me since I found your story after you finished both story and its sequel, I kinda relieved coz there's always "Next" Button at the end of chapters XD)
at first I kinda grew fond of Sungyeol version in Enemy or.. Mate (he was the first one I imagined as Infinite's Lee Sungyeol), so it's kinda hard to imagine all Lee Sungyeol was having the same face and attitude, just like Sungyeol version (Sungyeollie) in The Jinxed Vampire, I felt a little bit jealous over Sungyeolie, when He and Myungsoo able to meet each other since Sungyeollie still 6 years old, kinda not fair for Sungyeol since He was killed by Myungsoo before experiencing the beauty of love /Sigh/ i know I kinda silly hehehe but yeah after a while since you already explained about the same face and attitude, I was starting to imagine Infinite's Sungyeol face on Sungyeollie (yeayyy) ^.^
Myungsoo's aura was so asdsaddjkwedg (imagine L's smoldering eyes /Squealing/) >.<
well yeah his Psycho side was scary but his sweet side (esp. for Sungyeollie) was lovable and cute. Glad the Jinxed Vampire myth was true, so he lived happily ever after with his mate /wiping happy tears/

I hope you will write another Myungyeol Story later... ^.^

Thank you for sharing this <333
