We have been sending text messages to each other over the months. He dropped by at times as he tries to beat me at horse racing.

Today I started my work really early as usual. And then went back to prepare breakfast. I called to Dad but there is no response.

I went to his room and find him lying down while he is patting his chest. His face was so pale. "Dad, are you okay?" I panicked as I went to his side. He was breathing unsteadily. I got up quickly and call our neighbor for help.

Uncle Hong came after a while and drove us to the city hospital.

Dad was struggling as he whispers to my ears, "Min... if... if... anything happens...There's... there's... a metal box in my room...take...it...with...you..."

I was crying as I see him speaking with difficulty.

"No Dad, don't say that you're going to be okay. You can't leave me alone." I said.

"No, God, please don't do this to me. Please let nothing happen to Dad." I was praying hard.

"Sorry...Min...I love you... my daughter..."he said as I hugged him closely.

"Dad... I love you.... please don't ..." I cried uncontrollably.

Dad was rushed in for an operation. I was waiting outside, walking back and forth as I can't calm down. Uncle Hong tried to stop me.

"Sit down, Min." I tried sitting down but somehow I felt even more uneasy that way and start moving around the hallway again. it must have been hours before the doctors came out. One of the doctors spoke up. "Sorry, but we had tried our best."

I broke down as soon as I heard those words. I collapsed on the floor crying hard. Uncle Hong held me back to a seat.

He also helped me through with all the processes, the hospital documents, the funeral and all.

I had already fed all the animals in the morning. As I have to stay by Dad's side I did ask Uncle Hong to help feed the animals for the time being until burial.

I tried calling Taecyeon while I was in the hospital but I can't seem to get through. I search on their SNS and found that he is currently in Bangkok, Thailand.

I got a call from him late at night.

" Hello...Min...Did you call?"

 I burst into tears as I hear his voice.

"Are you crying? What happened?

 I still couldn't stop crying.

"Don't cry...Min...calm down..." He said repeatedly.

It took a while before I finally stop.

"Dad...Dad...he is gone..." I finally replied as steadily as possible

"What? What do you mean?"

"He has passed away," I said as I hold on to my tears

"Oh no, he couldn't... what happened?"

I told him every detail from this morning.

"I am sorry...Min. Don't worry, I am coming back."

"But you still have your schedule. "

"We are finished here. I see you. Take care."

The next day, our neighbors, Mr. Choi, and the staff from the drama crew came by to show their last respect.

Later in the evening, Taecyeon showed up with the rest of 2PM members. He stayed back even when s left. He helped out till all of the guests were gone.

"Aren't you tired, Min?" Taecyeon asked as he sat down beside me. I shook my head. He pulled me to his side and let my head lean on his shoulder.

"Are you?" I asked him as well." I am okay." He replied.

Even though I told him that I have Uncle Hong's help, Taecyeon was with me even till burial.

When all has ended Taecyeon took me home.

"Are you free today? You don't have to send me"

"It's okay, I will send you back first."

He cooked some ramen for me knowing I didn't eat then he tucked me in bed. I dozed off almost immediately.

When I woke up it was already dark. I look around the house and I know that Taecyeon has already left. I felt a pang of hunger so I made hot chocolate.

I felt so lonely all of a sudden, so I went to Dad's room and sat on his bed and held on his pillow. I remembered what he told me and start fumbling his drawer. I took the box out and open it.

There was a letter, with some of our photos taken together with Mom. Tears started flowing from my eyes as I looked at the pictures. "I miss you, Mom."

I then open up the letter and read.

My dearest daughter, Min:

By the time you have read this letter, I must have already left this world. I am sorry that I can't be there to take care of you and have to leave you alone.

Mom and I were really proud and grateful that we have such a sweet daughter. You never hesitate to come back and take care of Mom and never even once complain when working on the farm even though you get wounded many times.

I felt bad that you have to quit your studies and give up pursuing your dream. I am very sorry that I have been so harsh on you.

So it's time now to continue on pursuing your dream. Become the person you want to be.

Sell the farm to Kim Hong. He will take care of the farm. All the documents are there in the drawer. Take care of yourself. Live well and move on.

I am already sobbing when I read the letter. I felt so painful and lonely right now that I couldn't stay in the empty house. I went to the stable to find my Harvey.
