I  was sitting on the front porch sipping my hot chocolate as I enjoy the sunrise.  It has been two years since I came back home from the USA. I was studying there for a year until my mom got very sick. So I came back to take care of her.

After six months, my mom died due to lung cancer. My dad's health is not getting any better as  there were loads of work piled on him. I could not leave Dad alone either. 

In this village,  people my age would have left to live in the city. So my best friend I have now would be my horse, Harvey, who had to accompany me through all the sorrowful mourning. 

Dad got a project to let an actor to stay for a while to learn horse riding and to know the farm life. Dad always had this kind of projects as there is this Mr. Choi who was Dad's old friend from the entertainment world.  I heard that they will have their drama shoots  on our farm.

 Today, the actor was sent here. He stood at the door, bow slightly and greeted "Anyeonghasaeyo, I am Ok Taecyeon." Dad smiled at him and replied, "Welcome to my humble home."

"Min, please take Mr. Taecyeon 's bag to the guest room." I immediately carry his bag but Taecyeon protested. "It's okay, Mr. Taecyeon, you are a guest after all." Dad insisted. 

"Please call me Taec." He said. Dad asked if he had eaten and since he said he had, Dad gave him a proper outfit and gear up with a helmet to start his first horse riding lesson.

Knowing Taecyeon had never ridden a horse before Dad chose a well-trained horse , Cappuccino.  Dad asked me to assist him as well.  Dad begins teaching Taecyeon and soon he was riding Cappuccino along with Dad. 

Mr. Kim from the town market came to get his order of milk and eggs, Dad told me to take over and left. I rode beside him so that I can observe him as he rides. He was glancing at me but didn't utter a word. We were riding around the fenced field and his horse was too close to the fence.

"Umm, Mr. Taecyeon, you can pull the rein to direct the horse. " I said softly while getting closer to teach him the way to hold it. 

"Oh, so you can talk?" He said with a shocking expression. I raised an eyebrow. "Duh!" I exclaimed. 

"Sorry,  you were silent all the while so I thought... " He left the words unsaid. "So you thought I am dumb? " Amused at his expression as I finished his sentences.  

"Mianhae" he apologized again feeling somewhat uncomfortable. "It's okay, I guess I was not used to talking to strangers, so I am awfully quiet. That's why you would think like that." I replied.

"Do we have to go so slowly?" Taecyeon asked as he looks ahead. I nodded. "Learn to walk first then you can start running. "

"Are you implying that I am a baby?" He chuckled as he asked . "You need to take baby steps," I replied while smiling at him.

After we rode two rounds, Taecyeon asked if we can go faster. I then try to teach him how to control the horse. As I was explaining,  Cappuccino suddenly galloped away. Taecyeon shouted as the horse took off. He was holding onto the horse's neck as I quicken up Harvey and chase after him. I got as close to Cappuccino as possible.  I got hold of the rein and signal him to stop. "Whoa...stop...Cappuccino." Lucky he slowed down at my command. Although Taecyeon was not hurt, his face went pale as he must have a shock of his life. 

At this moment, Dad was already riding behind us. "What just happened?" Dad screamed at me. "Cappuccino just sprinted away," I explained feeling guilty. "It would not have happened if you have taught Taec the right instructions. " Dad continue to shout at me.  "Sorry... Dad.. I.. I  didn't know... know what.. what happened. " I stammered as tears start falling from my eyes. Taecyeon was feeling uneasy so he spoke up. "Please Uncle, it's not her fault. I wanted to go faster. I am sorry. "

"She should know better, as you could have been hurt, Taec." Dad reasoned.

"Sorry Dad, sorry Taecyeon" I bowed and rode away.  I went to the stable and brush Harvey's fur. I felt bad as I know we would be in trouble if Taecyeon gets hurt.
