"Kiss me like you wanna be loved"

“Lu, do you still remember the time when we go on our first date?”

Lu Han stops fondling Kai’s chest and looks up to his boyfriend, “Of course. How could I forget when you stole a kiss from me even before went out to eat dinner? We were still at the doorway, trying to figure what to do for the rest of evening when you kissed me on the lips. You have no idea how surprised I was.”

“I know. That made my night. I did not intend to do it. I just…lost it when you smiled at me. I was dying back then but I don’t regret it. Not when I got to see you blushing hard.”

“Oh you!” Lu Han couldn’t help but laugh, unaware that his boyfriend has been eyeing his lips for a while now.

[Flashback]

Kai was fidgeting. He kept pacing back and forth outside the lake house, waiting for Lu Han to come in sight. It was the night of their first date and he was extremely nervous. He already arranged a dinner for the two of them at the town’s best food shop. After the meal, he would take Lu Han to the park where they will talk and hold hands and possibly, share a ki—

“Kai-ah? Are you alright?”

Kai swung around and found Lu Han, Oh good heavens, Lu Han in black jeans and a plaid shirt, a breath of fresh air from his usual turtle neck outfit. Kai swore he looked younger than him especially with the bed hair.  

“Uh…uhm…H-Hi there,” he stuttered while staring at the older boy dreamily.

Lu Han smiled at him and waved apologetically, “Sorry. It took long for me to open the door. I was actually fixing my hair but it ended up like this.” Timidly, he looked away and ran his fingers through his hair, hoping it would look better. However, for Kim Kai, it was perfect.

Just perfect.

“You look…great,” said the younger one absentmindedly. Great wasn’t good enough to describe Lu Han that night and Kai couldn’t figure out what to do next. He just stared and stared and stared. Lu Han’s presence itself was too much for him to handle. The poor boy was whipped.

“Thanks.” Lu Han’s cheeks flushed as he spoke. He could feel butterflies in his stomach. He couldn’t help but laugh at himself for acting like a boy in love for the first time when he was already in his late 20s.

Kai froze when the pleasant laugh echoed in his ears. He though it was cliché when people rave about being in love; about how time would go by slowly whenever you look at the person you love. It was another product of romantic movies; from wild imaginations of people struck by cupid’s arrow. He didn’t believe any of it until that moment he was gazing at Lu Han under the moonlight. Kai never thought it was possible to fall harder for him. “So this is how it feels.”

When they locked gazes, Kai’s breath hitched. Lu Han seem to have felt the same and averted his eyes from the younger one. He was trying to pull himself together and act casually. Kai was in nature cool and good-looking. But for some reason, the younger one was exceptionally handsome that night. It wasn’t merely because of the way he styled his hair. It wasn’t only because of the way he dressed himself in a skin-tight jeans and blue long sleeve polo. It wasn’t just because of the way he smiles. Lu Han knew it was more than those worldly facets that his eyes could see. He was in love. “So this is what you mean.” Lu Han noticed Kai’s heavy-lidded eyes flashing with admiration and it made him even more self-conscious. He lowered his head; his lips spread into a vibrant smile revealing the perfect set of teeth. Kai’s heart was pounding wildly against his chest. He didn’t think more before he took a step forward. In a matter of seconds, he managed to close the distance between them and joined their lips together.

“Oh gosh! That was really unexpected,” Lu Han almost squeals while hiding his face in the corner of Kai’s chest. “Time did stop. I wasn’t even joking. I felt it.”

“That was one of the best times of my life.”

Lu Han nods, “Hm. Me, too.”

“And even until now, I couldn’t get enough of your lips,” whispers Kai in breathless anticipation. His face is already moving dangerously close to Lu Han’s. Instead of closing his eyes and wait for their lips to join, Lu Han cups his lover’s cheeks and pulls him near until their noses touch. He playfully runs his index finger along the full, enticing lips before capturing it.

Kai smiles satisfyingly under the sheets.
