Set I

버클's One Shot Collection

Amber cursed and swear in her mind to the person who set this date for her. Luna is the girl’s name, who claimed that she has a set of questionnaire that she wants Amber to answer, together with a friend of hers, that Amber never met. Hence, here she is, sitting on a small table in a café, with a pretty red-long haired girl sitting beside her.

Her partner for the day is drop dead gorgeous as even if she possesses an icy feeling, her features are distinct, and her eyes shone brightly.

“Ehem” Amber cleared as the two of them sat as stiff as a piece of wood.

“I am so going to kill Luna for leaving us alone” Amber thought.

“Sooooooo, we are to finish a questionnaire that Luna passed it to us, together.” Amber started.

The girl, whose name’s Krystal, nodded her head.

“Let’s start then?”

Another nod came.

“Question 1: Given the choice of anyone in the world, whom would you want as a dinner guest?” Amber read aloud from the piece of paper Luna gave, or more like shove into her face before leaving.

“I guess I will start first?” Amber initiated.

“Go on.” Krystal offered, speaking up for the first time since they met.

“Hmmmm… I guess my best friend Scott? He is fun to hang out with, hence dinner will be fun with him around too.”

“Mine would be my sister. We can talk about anything and everything in the world. Things that I tell my parents, and things that I don’t. Dinner with her always seemed never ending!” Krystal answered.

Amber nodded before continuing, “Question 2: Would you like to be famous? In what way?”

Amber gave a slight pause before answering the second question, “Yes, definitely. I want to be famous for the music I produce. To be famous internationally.”

Krystal nodded before answering the question, “I prefer to lie low, so my answer would be, no. I do not want to be famous.”

Amber gave a smile to her as the both of them still sat up straight, as they followed through the questionnaire.

“Question 3: Before making a telephone call, do you ever rehearse what are you going to say? Why?”

“No I don’t, I just speak whatever comes up to my mind.”

“Ah… I am different in this case. It depends on the situation I am in. if it is an important phone call, I do rehearse in my mind before saying out loud. But if it is a phone call between friends, I just speak up like you.”

“Sounds acceptable.” Amber commented.

“Next, question 4: What would constitute a “perfect” day for you?” Amber read from the table that the piece of paper is lying on.

“A perfect day would be a day with a really nice weather, not too hot, not too cold, and when I have inspiration for music. Then I can go walk my dogs, JackJack and Gongju, skate around the park, and shoot some balls, before going back to rest.”

“For me, a perfect day would be a rainy day, with nothing to complete, so that I can snuggle on my bed, binge watching episodes of my favourite drama.”

“Question 5: When did you last sing to yourself? To someone else?”

“Yesterday? In the shower?” Both girls giggled. “Yesterday too. I sang it to a friend of mine who is also my partner in making music.”

“Two days ago I think? I was in a good mood then, so I hummed my favourite song along. The last time I sang to someone else was three months ago, I went to the KTV with my sister, and sang her a song about us. She cried.” Krystal gave a slight smile to that memory.

“Awww that must be nice!” Amber grinned before looking at the piece of paper again.

“Question 6: If you were able to live to the age of 90 and retain either the mind or body of a 30-year-old for the last 60 years of your life, which would you want?”

“I would want the mind of a 30-year-old. So that I keep all the precious memory of my loved ones.”

“Same here! Memories with my loved ones are too precious to be forgotten!” Krystal and her eyes smiled.

“Question 7: Do you have a secret hunch about how you will die?”

“Yeah, I am someone fond of playing extreme sports. And there are times where I felt that I would die while doing one of those.”

Krystal nodded before continuing, “I would probably grow old and die in some nursing home.”

Amber laughed at that answer before replying, “No you won’t. You would spend your last days with your loved ones, like how you could remember memories with them.”

Krystal gave a slight smile at Amber’s reply.

“Question 8: Name 3 things you and your partner appear to have in common.”

“We cherish our memories, we are working adults, and we are friends with Luna.” Amber listed, before adding, “sorry, I can’t think of anything else.”

Krystal nodded, and answered, “being warm to others, cherishing memories, and cherishing great friends.”

Amber gave a small stare at Krystal’s reply.

“What’s with the stare?! My friends told me I am warm!”

Amber nodded unconvincingly.

“Yah! I am serious!” Krystal defended.

“Okay okay! Hahaha!” Amber laughed.

“Question 9: For what in your life do you feel most grateful?”

“I am grateful for having supportive friends and family around me, they support me in whatever I want to do.”

“I am most grateful for having a sister, for someone that I can talk to whenever I need a listening ear.” A smile was spread across Krystal’s face.

“Question 10: If you could change anything about the way you were raised, what would it be?”

“Nothing. I am glad that I am raised this way, and I am proud of myself for being who I am.”

“That’s nice. I wish I would have parents who are less strict, so that I can do whatever I want earlier, and not to delay my passion.”

“What is your passion?” Amber asked curiously.

“To study what I want, to study literature. My parents wanted me to take up medicine when I was younger, hence they told me to take Sciences in high school.”

Amber nodded.

“Question 11: Take 4 minutes and tell you partner your life story in much detail as possible.”

“Hmmm. I have an older sister like you, I was born in California, America, to Taiwanese parents, so I would visit Taiwan occasionally. My parents gave me a lot of freedom while I was growing up, hence when I told them that I want to do music in Korea, they gave me their support. When I was in school, I was often bullied for my androgynous look, but I still made some friends. I played basketball with them, and I learnt skateboarding from them too. When I got to Korea, I lived with another friend of mine, and I found a job in SM Entertainment. I still get judged for my tom-boyish looks, but I have learnt to accept the way I am.”

“I was born in San Francisco, and lived there until I was 5. We moved back to Korea because my parents wanted better education for us. Our parents owned a hospital here in Korea, and they wanted both of us to be doctors. My sister had the passion in that field, which is why she excelled in her studies. She did become a doctor in the end, while I studied literature in college, pursuing my dream. My childhood was filled with different types of classes, piano, taekwondo, ballet, and a lot more others. I didn’t have the time to rest due to the busy schedule that I had. And because of that, I fainted several times, and the previous time I fainted, it was quite serious, which is why my parents knew that something was wrong, and allowed me to pursue my dream.”

Silence ensued in the room.

“Sooooo…. Question 12: If you could wake up tomorrow having gained any one quality or ability, what would it be?”

“I want to split myself into several parts, so that I can do whatever I want.”

“I want to travel to different countries, just by taking the subway, from one stop to another.”

Amber smiled at the slight drama reference that Krystal made. And Krystal reciprocated with another smile.

A/N: any ideaa which drama reference? HAHAHA it is still airing! ^^ this is an inspiration while watching a video needed for my schoolwork. and i found it interesting hence i searched it up for the questions. there will be a total of 3 parts to this story, as per the number of sets there is for the questionnaire. if anyone is interested, i will post the links of the video and the article that has the 36 questions up at the third part!

p.s. i really wanted to continue with "The Surprise", but then the kryber evidence that i found actually happened before the timeline that i wrote... what do i dooooooo T.T
