We don’t have anything much in common.

We are in the same clique, made up of mostly boys. I didn’t like hanging out with them because of my shy character and they avoided me as much as they could because they find me unapproachable. But you caught my eye because you are cute and resemble someone I knew, and by chance, I found out that we have something in common. We have the same idol.

And because of this, we grew closer. We still didn’t talk much in school other than during lunch breaks. However, our conversations usually start with…

“Have you watched her new drama?”

or

“Have you listened to her latest single?”

or

“Have you bought her album?”

And it usually died after a few replies. We did talk about school work and our aspirations and me encouraging you to study more or catch-up more with schoolwork. But that is it. We did not do much together. Even when we chat online, it is still the same thing, except that we are sending pictures of our idol in order to keep the conversation alive.

We were hanging out after school one day near town, a distance by train away from our homes. After we ended, we took the train together since we were heading towards the same direction. And since you reached your stop first, you got off the train first. And while you said your goodbyes to our other friends who were on board on the same train as us, you left your goodbye to me the last. When you said that, your hand patted my head twice and you gave me your dorky smile before heading out to the opening doors of the train. And at that point of time… my heart fluttered…

I have always found you to be cute, even if others disagree. Your dorky smile attracts me. That smile of yours is just my type. What adds onto the list is that you play the guitar. I am attracted to people who plays the guitar. I find the guitarist charismatic whenever he/she starts strumming and singing along. That is also part of my reason for liking the idol that we have in common.

Ever since that encounter in the train, it got me thinking… thinking if… I like you more than a friend…
