It’s been a few weeks since they closed the deal. Kris had been on the lookout for the start of the construction as he finishes all the necessary preparation before the ground breaking ceremony. The materials, the crew that will work on it and the company to be contacted for the construction has been settled. For now, all he waits is the day for the ground breaking ceremony so the construction can start right away.

As he relaxes on his chair after hours of paper works, his phone finally disturbs him.

“Hello?” he lazily replied, not bothering to read the caller ID.

“Jia is rushed to the hospital, are you just going to sit there?” His mother’s voice answered on the other line.

“What? Why? What happened?” he pushed himself off his chair, suddenly alert.

“She’s going to give birth; I’ll just wait for you in there,” Stella replies, hanging up before he could even ask for the hospital’s name.

He messages his mother immediately as he gathers all his papers. After a moment, he receives the address then off he goes. It is a moment not to be missed.

Jia had been feeling the cramps since yesterday and despite her doctor’s warning for her to stay at the hospital for monitoring, she insisted on staying at home with excuses. Her husband, Zhou Mi had been restless in front of the delivery room. He was a bit late and the one who got inside with Jia is Stella.

“Chill down; you’re making me dizzy,” Kris sighs, fed up with his brother-in-law walking back and forth in front of him.

“You will experience this too; once you get married,” he turns to offer Kris a smile but he looks so stressed that Kris has to chuckle at his effort.

“Are they having the CS?” Kris asks.

“No, your sister is strong and I know she will not permit it anyway,” Zhou Mi replies, finally deciding to sit beside Kris.

“She was actually rooting for me to get married earlier than her,” Kris sighs, remembering flashes of memories ten years ago.

“It’s hard to let go right?” Zhou Mi asks.

“Yeah,” was all he could reply.

Finally, after hours of waiting, the doctor stepped out with a wide grin.

“Congratulations! It’s a healthy baby girl,” then shakes Zhou Mi’s hand before leaving him sigh a breath of relief. None of them knows what the baby could be; Jia refuses to have the ultrasound.

“Any name for your niece?” Zhou Mi smiles at Kris.

“Soo Yung and her English name will be Summer,” Kris readily replies.

“Soo Yung? Like her?” Zhou Mi blinks.

“I’ll register the name so you will understand the difference; for now we could call her Summer. I want to surprise my sister,” then he left off to officially register the name of his niece.

“I can’t believe it! You named her after her? I was supposed to name her Meilin and give the English name Faith,” Jia exclaims.

“Did you really just give birth? I thought women who gave birth will be weak after the procedure,” Kris picks up the pillow, wondering if he will get near the bed or not.

“I am not your average woman Kris, now better change the name or I will surely strangle you once I get off this bed,” Jia threatens.
