Roller Coaster

Student Council

I refused to let him pick me up from my house. I wasn’t ready to reveal my family’s lack of financial stability to people at school, especially not Jungkook. Getting ready for our date, I struggled to pick out an outfit before settling for black jeans, a black-and-white striped shirt, a long dark gray cardigan, and my white sneakers that were equally as ratty as the Nikes I wore to school. I walked to the nearest train station because Jungkook still insisted on picking me up. Upon arrival, a black Mercedes with tinted windows pulled in front of me within minutes and Jungkook hopped out. “Hey, get in, I have plans for us,” he said and held the door open for me. I couldn’t help but smile at him as I got in the car. He looked less… regal out of his school uniform. His perfectly ironed pants were replaced by a pair of ripped up jeans and he wore a simple white t-shirt under a black leather jacket instead of the bleached-white, starched collared shirt I saw him in at school.

“Aren’t you going to ask what we’re doing today?” he said to me with a smile, breaking the uncomfortable silence we’d been sitting in for the past few minutes. “Yeah, of course. What are we doing?” I asked as his face lit up with excitement. “That, little Euijin, is a surprise.” He smirked. I rolled my eyes, sat back with my arms crossed and pasted on a smirk on my face.

I have to say, the boy does not give up. I tried my best to ignore him but he continued to talk at me until something sparked my attention, “You were the one that got the scholarship, weren’t you?” he asked. I turned to him and he was leaning against the window, looking outrageously cool for some reason. “I am, how did you know? Ask your mom or something?” I asked as he turned to me with his signature smirk, “How else do you think I get all my information to help run Student Council?” And suddenly, I somewhat understood why he was suited for his position on Student Council – he knew both sides of everything, “You must be really smart to be able to get a scholarship.” He said, “I’m not smart as much as I just work hard and tend to get what I want.” I said and glared at him. “You’re not getting my seat on Student Council,” He slid across the seat towards me, “but you’re more than welcome to be my Platinum,” he smiled and reached his arm around me. At first, it was uncomfortable at first but it quickly felt like home but I stood my ground, “As enticing as that sounds,” I said sarcastically, “I’ve always gotten what I want and I’m not going to stop now.”

When the car stopped, Jungkook’s driver opened our door and Jungkook helped me out, “I’ll give you a call when we’re ready to leave. Thanks, Taehoon-hyung.” He said. “Lotte World?” I asked with a massive smile on my face, I couldn’t contain my excitement, “I’ve never been here before!” I began running towards the gates as Jungkook chased after me, he caught up to me and turned me around, “Slow down there, we have all day.” He smiled, taking me hand, “And what do you mean you’ve never been to Lotte World?” he asked, causing me to search my brain to come up with an answer other than telling him my parents couldn’t afford to take me out to dinner, let alone an amusement park. “I just never got the chance to,” I said quickly, “How often do you come here?” I changed the subject. “That’s a shame, I used to always come here with my parents before they got too busy with work and stuff,” he forced a smile.

He paid for our admission and bought us ride passes even though I asked him not to since I didn’t like rides – which again, wasn’t a complete lie since the most exciting ride I’ve been on was a boat ride I took with my dad when we went fishing. “Which ride do you want to go on first?” he asked me. I scanned the incredible scene of screaming lights, winding screams, and spinning rails. I decided roller coaster, probably a bad decision for my first ever thrill ride but hey, go big or go home, right? The moment I suggested the roller coaster, a look of terror crossed Jungkook’s face, “Scared?” I laughed. “N-no, I’ve just never been on it before!” he tried not to seem terrified but I laughed and pulled him towards the lineup. “You don’t have to come with me if you don’t want to,” I as he put on a brave face. “I can’t let you go on by yourself.”

I was right, it was the wrong ride to test out the amusement park waters but wow, what a rush! Not only that but it was hilarious to watch Jungkook scream his face off next to me. After that experience with vertigo, I felt it was best that we took a break. We sat down for an ice cream and I stifled my giggles, his face was still ghost white, “Okay, I’m scared of roller coasters, so what?” he exhaled. I tried not to laugh but a tiny bit slipped out, “I was terrified too so I’m glad you came on with me,” I assured him. When we finished our ice cream, he stood up with his hands on his hips, “I’ve decided I’m winning you a teddy bear, or stuffed dog, or whatever they have available!” he pointed to the air.

Once again, I couldn’t help but laugh and again, I went along with it and let him force me to watch him as he dished out dollars to get me a stuffed pug. On what seemed like his twentieth try, he finally won me my pug, “You better name him Jungkook or I will never talk to you again.” he said. “Is that a promise?” I joked. “So what?” he asked as we strolled through the park, “do you like me yet or do I have to keep winning you things and go on every roller coaster in this park with you?” he asked the question that I dreaded answering.

NOTE: I don't really like writing fluff but ugh, it played out so adorably in my head. Don't worry, Euijin hasn't lost her way. Once again, thanks for reading! If you're new here or just have yet to, click subscribe and get updates whenever I post a new chapter! xoxo.

Chapter 21: Childhood flashbacks always stab me in the heart goddamit T^T. But omg, Euijin's dad was student council president... If her parents were still alive Euijin would've been student council president then wouldn't she? It's weird when I think about it, but kinda sad too. How could Euijin forget about Jungkook though T-T I guess she was only like 4-5 and you don't really remember many memories from early childhood, but still. Whaf I find so cute though is that Jungkook's childhood friend is now his girlfriend asdgdjhdksjsvwuba :33 huhuu

Chapter 20: Oh, I wasn't expecting that. He made her his platinum because he merely pitied her? That's made me sad T^T what. But the sweet moment at the end makes up for it, so I forgive you authornim for doing something like that to us.

Chapter 16: This is what you meant when you said you'd 'drop the bomb'? A love triangle between Euijin, Jimin and Jungkook. Well this will definitely stir things, we know how much Jungkook likes Euijin, and now it seems as if Jimin likes her too. Lol, Euijin at the end just girling on about how hot he was though xD
