Yoona placed a plate of food down next to the tan girl causing her to look up in surprise at the girl who willingly sat next to her, “Hey.”

Yoona started playing around with her food, “Yuri...”

Patting her friend on the back, “I get it. Just eat your food.”

Yoona sighed as she shoveled some noodles into to start eating but the things she wanted to say were still chewing on her heart, “I didn’t mean to avoid you...it is just...”

Yuri put down her chopsticks so she could look at her friend, “Yoona I know feelings don’t just pass in a few days but if you want to get over your feelings for me, please don’t act like we weren’t best friends before. No matter what we go through, I want you and Taeyeon by my side. Will you return to being my best friend again? God knows Taeyeon is too busy to do that for me right now.”

Yoona let out a small smile, “Of course...”

Picking up her chopsticks, Yuri returned to eating, “Jessica told me you apologized and a little mole told me about how she got into level 6.”

“How am I supposed to keep a secret from you and Taeyeon if you both know everyone here?”

Shrugging, “I guess you can’t but do you really want to keep secrets from your family? Taeyeon and I already know you are a huge softy on the inside.”

Yoona dipped her head down in embarrassment, “Both of us know Taeyeon is the biggest softy out of all of us.”

Yuri laughed, “Taeyeon is just a hopeless romantic and Jessica will probably be spoiled to the max!”

Laughing along with Yuri was something Yoona had wanted to do since the selection tournament. Since those days, Yoona felt a certain emptiness but with the hearty laughter of her friend by her side now, Yoona felt whole again, “You think Jessica can handle those cheesy lines she used to say to Hyomin?”

“Well while you were out being depressed, I was here witnessing a PG-13 movie.”

“In public again?”

Yuri nodded, “Taeyeon said she is being careful but I know she is marking her territory. The whole Resistance should know by now that Jessica is her property.”

Yoona rolled her eyes, “Cheesy and immature.”

“I think it is called love.”

Slouching down in her chair Yoona started playing with her food, “Sometimes I wish I was as cool and smooth like Taeyeon. Everyone is wanting to either be friends with her or...”

“Oh don’t act like certain people aren’t pinning over you too! Just lose those thorns around you that keep people from a distance and I am sure you could be caught up in a cheesy love story like our short friend.”

“I don’t have thorns,” Yoona glared.

Yuri shivered a bit before standing up with her tray in hand, “Sure you don’t.”

Yoona watched as Yuri left before she went back to playing with her food, “Stupid Yuri...I meant what should I do to have a love story with you...”

Her leg extended high into the air and round-housed the paddle, “Nice Jessica. Again.” Jessica gave one more long breath before repeating the kick straight into the paddle. Taeyeon put down the kicking paddle so she could grab onto Jessica’s hips, “You could kick higher if you turned your hips more this way.”

Jessica looked down at the soft hands touching her hips. Even though they were in the training room for exercise, Jessica couldn’t help herself from blushing at the intimate contact, “O-ok.”

Taeyeon smiled before leaning forward to give her girlfriend a quick kiss, “Focus Jessica.”

Caught thinking of other things than training, Jessica looked down in embarrassment but she couldn’t contain the excitement bubbling in her body from the kiss, “I-I am...”

Taeyeon let out a loud laugh, “Maybe Yuri should train you. I think I distract you too much.”

“No!” Jessica said quickly. She treasured their training time once a week. Taeyeon was either on mission or Jessica was caught up in the editorial department to get the deadline met. They would try to find time for dinner together or to say goodnight, but once a week, they both would spend 2 hours doing one-on-one training, and it was the one day of the week Jessica would find to be the most precious time she had.

Taeyeon walked over to pick up the paddle, “Alright. Now move your hips to spin a bit and then quickly extend.”

Jessica went into a ready position with her feet apart and her fists clenched. Seeing that Taeyeon had the paddle ready, Jessica quickly spun her hips and extended her leg, receiving a hard clack from the paddle.

Smiling happily, Taeyeon walked up to Jessica, “That was great! Ten more and we can take a break ok?”

Jessica nodded before giving the ten more kicks Taeyeon requested. Although doing the basics of karate and taekwondo were new to Jessica, she found the new form of exercise rather interesting. Taeyeon was also a great teacher since she was also trained in the various forms of hand-to-hand combat.

Taeyeon walked over to give Jessica her water, “So Seohyun is going to take you up again tomorrow?”

“Yea...but I am not sure I want to do it. I just think of what happened last time and it makes me think that I am really not ready to be a field reporter.”

Taeyeon crossed her legs to listen more attentively, “Nothing is easy at first. You just need to get used to it.”

Jessica let out a soft sigh, “You are always so confident.”

“I don’t think it is confidence. I was just as scared as you were when I did my first field assignment. Just listen to Seohyun well and you will do well. I know she is a bit younger than you but she is very smart.”

“I know she is. Scary smart.” Jessica chuckled.

Taeyeon matched Jessica’s laugh with one that was more uneasy, “Maybe a little too smart.”

“Hey Taeyeon and Jessica.”

The two girls looked up at the taller man hovering over them, “Is it already time?” Taeyeon said as she looked at her watch.

Yunho was wearing black camo with his leather boots laced tightly, “Yea. Sorry to take her from you Jessica.”

Jessica stood up as Taeyeon went to get her things, “I knew she would be heading out with you but I was told this mission might take a few days?”

“We only say that because most of what we do is top secret. Only Taeyeon and I know the exact time to carry out the missions.”

Jessica nodded along, “Makes sense.”

Taeyeon came up from behind Jessica to rest her hand on the small of her back, “Good luck tomorrow. I want to hear everything when I get back.” Because Yunho was in front of them, Taeyeon gave Jessica an innocent kiss on her cheek, “bye.”

Jessica held her cheek while she watched her girlfriend leave with the muscular male. Then the uneasiness set in once again. Maybe she would never feel comfortable with all the missions Taeyeon had to go on but there was no way she would stop the girl from doing her job. Everyone knew Taeyeon was essential to the Resistance.

Taeyeon adjusted the gun on her hip as her team glided through the darkness. Crouching behind bushes and hugging the walls of buildings, the Resistance team aimed to stay out of sight although their camo sported the Party label as a precaution.

“I will take Alpha team inside. Beta team stay watch,” Taeyeon whispered to her teammates. Although everyone was covered with a black face and black camo, each member knew who they were to be with and what duty they were to perform.

Yunho took out his gun from the holster, “Beta, with me. Alpha wait for the signal.”

Taeyeon and her teammate, Junho, stayed rooted in their spot near the wall while Yunho and two of their more muscular guy members moved towards the guards of the gate. Watching closely, even Taeyeon couldn’t see Yunho coming up to the guard and putting him into a sleeper hold until the guard fell and Yuhno flashed a light to move in.

Remaining crouched down, Taeyeon and Junho moved past the guard and into the building that was already unlocked by their other teammate. Carefully entering the building, Taeyeon looked around the darkness before lifting the night goggles over her eyes. The black darkness was now a bright green, showing Taeyeon the intricacies of the area around her.

Alpha team went around the building using a map memorized before the mission. It was no surprise that the interior of the building was already vacant since this Party building is to implode in the morning. Although no casualties were to be expected from the planned demolition of this building, Taeyeon knew the Resistance was to be used as a catalyst to strengthen Party support since this building was a pillar of Party unity to its people. However, unknown to the public, this building was vacated a week ago and relocated to another sector. The building was useless but the Party knew that it could still be useful in destroying the image of the Resistance.

Reaching the door with the bomb location, Junho got on his knees to pick the lock quickly. With the click of the leaver, Taeyeon pushed the door open however, instead of facing the location of the bomb, Junho and Taeyeon entered an empty room.

Touching her headset, “Beta it isn’t in X.”

Yunho tightened his hold on the gun, “Find it.”

Taeyeon sighed as she looked at Junho, “Every room. You right and I will take left.”

Junho nodded and the two got started. Each room was picked open and to their disappointment, every room was empty.

“Alpha hit the mark?” Yunho asked worried with the time on his clock showing impeding daylight.

“Negative.”

Gritting his teeth in impatience, “Beta 1 entering.”

“Negative! Hold.” Taeyeon whispered harshly, “You have your orders.”

Looking back at his watch, Yunho didn’t want to hold, “30 and sun breaks.”

Taeyeon breathed heavily several times to recompose herself before clicking the next lock open. The room was very different from the others. Instead of being completely empty, the room was fully furnished. Carefully entering the room, Taeyeon looked around at the leather chairs, the wooden cabinet and the solid oak desk, “Why leave something this expensive?”

Looking around the desk, Taeyeon found a nametag along with several papers. Reading the name on the plate, Taeyeon gasped, “This is bigger than we thought.” Then the girl heard a faint beeping coming from under the desk. Almost throwing the chair out of the way, Taeyeon looked under and found the bomb, “Alpha 2, found target.”

Looking at the bomb, Taeyeon knew that the goal of the bombing was the building, “Not strong enough...so just the room.”

Junho quickly entered with the bomb defusing equipment, “We have 20.”

Taking out her tools, Taeyeon examined the bomb more, “We need to defuse and take the bomb out.”

“Take it out? Why?”

“Did you see the name on the desk?”

Junho stood up to take a closer look at the name, “No way...isn’t he the president of the Party?”

Taeyeon nodded, “Something happened to the president and they want to blame it on us. We need to take away the planted evidence.”

Junho shinned a light onto the bomb, “Difficult?”

“A little because I want to not completely disable it.”

Junho nodded as he watched his senior work on the bomb while also watching the clock on his watch carefully, “10.”

Taeyeon wiped the sweat from her head as she looked at the cross wires, “I’m cutting blue.”

Junho watched carefully as Taeyeon cut the wire but unexpectedly, the bomb started a countdown, “Normal?”

“.” Grabbing the whole bomb, Taeyeon ran out of the room and rushed down the hall. Making her way into one of the vacant rooms, she carefully placed the bomb on the floor before locking the door, “Alpha 2 out now!”

Junho was closely behind Taeyeon when the bomb hit zero.

Yunho heard the blast go off behind him so he quickly turned around to see the smoke coming from one of the rooms. Not caring about his post, the man ran towards the enterance and entered the building but within the darkness and rubble, he could see anything, "Alpha respond!"
