1st year of elementary students Myungyeol

A new student came that day, the teacher said he was back from the US and all girls in Sungyeol’s class went crazy about him despite of the fact they were all only in their first year of elementary school. The boy, Kim Myungsoo, had this jet black hair, a pair of eyes which seems like it could see deep inside of you, and a face of Korean flower boy. Well, that last one made the girls a bit disappointed because they were hoping for a real American boy, but the flower boy part kept them happy still.

“Yeol, because you’re the class president, please help Myungsoo, okay? He hasn’t been in Korea since he was born, I guess he would face many difficulty from culture difference and probably language,” the homeroom teacher told the lanky boy who nodded happily.

“Okay. Leave it to me, Sir!” Sungyeol said happily, then walking towards his class where the new boy surrounded by the other students, both girls and boys.

He came up to the boy with a determination in his mind, wanting to be friend with the boy. But the crowd, especially the girls wouldn’t allow him to get any closer to the latter if it was break time. Fortunately, the teacher made Myungsoo sat beside him, so he could talk to the boy in the middle of class. It’s not something good, though to not paying attention t their teacher.

“Hey. I’m Sungyeol, the class president. Mr. Song asked me to help you with things you don’t understand,” he whispered softly with a friendly smile and a hand reaching out for a handshake. The latter stared quietly at him, shaking his hand without saying anything, making Sungyeol blinked in confusion. Throughout the class, Myungsoo didn’t talk much, neither on the break time. He was always writing on his book with expressionless face, making the slightly elder boy wondered what it was.

“Soo, what are you writing?” a girl asked to the boy only to be ignored.

Sungyeol observed the new student from the side and even after a week passed, the conversation he managed to have with the boy was a simple greeting. ‘I have to come up with a plan, then,’ he thou
