"Umma....." Jonghyun said softly.. But loud enough still for the woman to hear

 

She turned slowly.. And the moment she saw jonghyun.. She widened her eyes and said "jonghyun-ahh... Is that you...."

 

Jonghyun saw her face... Swollen from tearing...

As soon as she saw that it was really her son, she immediately rushed and hugged jonghyun..

Jonghyun just stood there frozen.. This is the first time in almost 8 years he has seen his mum

 

They stayed like that for a little while before she finally breaking the hug 

Jonghyun sat her mum at the rock.. He then softly said to her..

"Umma... What are you doing here?....." 

 

"Your appa.... He...." She said softly...

 

At All this time, yoona just stood a little at the back, giving jonghyun and his moment some reunion time...

"Jonghyun's appa??.. Oh right... He was on the news few months ago about having a heart problem and going for a treatment here...." Yoona is thinking..

 

"He's..." Jonghyun's mum continued

"Doctors said he wont have long....." She said before looking down and start sobbing again..

 

Jonghyun's mom then continued to explained how his dad had a heart transplant operation a couple months back. And apparently things hasnt gone well since. The new heart is rejecting the new host. It has deteriorated and weakened so much to the point where now he needs to have a heart by-pass support at all times to pump oxygen into his body...

 

"The doctor said... He might not last through till the end of the week....." She said as she cries again..

 

Jonghyun was stunned... He knew his dad wasnt well... I mean the whole korea knew that... But never knew things were this bad...

 

"How come you are here now?..." Jonghyun asks

"I've been in hospital for more than two weeks.... Your uncle told me to go out and get some fresh air...." She replied weakly... She then continued

 

"This place has many good memories... Back when your appa was healthy... Back when you were around... Back when we were family.... A happy family...."

 

Jonghyun just hangs his head down... Not saying anything... This news is a shock to him... Even if he hates his dad... He doesnt really wish him to die.... 

 

"Jonghyun-ah... Your dad has been looking for you..." 

"He said his last wish before he depart is to see his son for one last time..."

"Would you be willing to visit him....." Her mum asks while holding his hands with teary eyes

 

Jonghyun looks confused... He really dont want to refuse his mum and this is maybe his last chance to see his dad... But remembering all the things his dad has done or said to him, his anger starting to boil again...

 

Jonghyun's face is starting to hardened up again and he was about to refuse when she felt a hand on his shoulder... 

He looks to see who it was

 

It was yoona... 

 

She softly said "i'd die for a chance to meet my dad again... But its too late for me.... "

Yoona began to tear up and said "go see him... Leave no regret... Cos once he's gone... Theres no second chances.."

 

Jonghyun smiles and grabs yoona's hand to comfort her...

He then turn to his mum and said...

 

 "Lets go..."

 

*on the way to the hospital*

 

Jonghyun is about to drive when he asked

"Umma, is he  in St Vincent's? " jonghyun asked

"Yeah... He is..." She replied

"Oh by the way umma,... This is im yoona. Sorry for the late intro" jonghyun said

" annyeonghaseyo eomeonim... Im yoona imnida..." Yoona bowed and greeted jonghyun's mum politely

Mrs lee smiles and said "ohh... What a lovely girl.... She is your wife on tv right??... I watch you guys every week,.... Jonghyun is very lucky to have a wife like you..." 

"Kamsahamida... " yoona said while blushing

"Jonghyun-ah... Is she....." Her mum said while whispering closing herself to jonghyun..

 

"Dae... Umma... Yoona is my girlfriend" jonghyun replied firmly

Yoona can hear what they are talking about and she blushed even harder

".. Not many people knows about this... Only you and our members.. So make sure you keep it a secret.." Jonghyun 

 

"?! So you really are for real?!" Mrs lee asked again..

Jonghyun just nods

 

Mrs lee then looks at yoona, holds her hand and said

"Yoona-yah... Do you mind if i speak casually with you?" Mrs lee asks

"Yes off course! Please!" Yoona replied quickly..

 

"Yoona-yah... Has jonghyun been treating you well?... This boy is has always been stubborn... But inside he is a warm person... Please take care of him well.. And be patience... " her mum said

 

"Ummmaaa!!!!" Jonghyun screamed to her mum

 

"Ani-yo.. Eomeonim... Jonghyun has always been the one who takes care of me.. He is always very mature..." Yoona replied

"Really???" Mr lee said in replied

" ummaaa!!! Why do you sound so surprised!!! :( " jonghyun said 

 

Yoona just smiles at the scene... "Even the cold and mature jonghyun has turn into a childish kid in front of his mum"

 

"We're here" jonghyun said

 

 

*st vincent's private hospital*

 

Jonghyun, yoona and mrs lee got out the car... 

Yoona suddenly thinks "this is their private family matters.. I shouldnt intrude... Maybe i should just go and give them space"

 

"Jongie-ah... " yoona said softly as she stops walking

Jonghyun and mrs lee stops and looks at yoona

"Do you want me to go and give you some time with your family? I dont want to intr....." Yoona still explaining when jonghyun just grabs her hand and pulled her to start walking again.

 

He said "you're family to me"

Yoona blushed at his smile and follows him without arguing anymore

 

Mrs lee smile and thinks "aigooo.. My boy is all grown up now.."

 

 

"Ohh jonghyun!!!" A familiar voice suddenly screamed at jonghyun

"Ohh uncle... Annyeonghaseyo" Jonghyun greets him

"Your dad will be so happy to see you... He's been asking for you alot..." His uncle said looking a little down

"Is he awake?" Mrs lee asks

"Yeah" jonghyun's uncles reply

"Jonghyun-ah.. Yoona-yah.. You two go in..." Mrs lee ordered

 

Jonghyun nods and walks closer to the door... As he was about to open it, he took a deep breath... 

Yoona feels her boyfriend's nervousness.. She grabs one of jonghyun hand with both her hands. He looks at her and smile as he said "kaja"

 

As they enter the room... They sees a man laying on the bed... His body has tubes inserted on his chest, drilled into his heart to keep it pumping. two tubes are inserted into both his nose to stabilise his lungs..

He also has IVs inserted into both his arms..

All those machines are basically what keeps him alive

 

The man was but skin and bones... It was a stark contrast to the man jonghyun once knew... Yoona saw him and gasp as she closed ...

 

The man jonghyun knew and the one yoona saw on tv was a healthy middle age man, weighing at least 75 kg.. But this man in front of them looks like he wont even weigh 45 kg... The couple can see his bones.. Only covered by his pale skin

 

"Who is it...." Mr lee said... His voice is so weak.. Its barely audible..

"Its me...." Jonghyun replied

"!!!!" Mr lee suddenly moves.. Trying to sit up but it was very difficult with all the tubes and IVs on the way...

Jonghyun quickly moves closer and said "stay still... You dont need to get up"

 

"Come... Come closer.... Let me see you closely...." Mr lee said

Jonghyun went nearer to let his dad see his face

 

Mr lee lifted one of his arm... He then moves his hand to touch jonghyun's face... He then said.. "Jonghyun-ah.... You're here....." 

Tear drops from the old man eyes as he said the words

 

Yoona is watching this moment between a father and his estranged son from a little further away.. Without her realising,.. Tears starting to fall on both her cheek.. 

 

"Dae, abeoji... Im here" jonghyun replied...

 

"Its been... Too long.... Much too long...." Mr lee said weakly

 

"I had been foolish.... I had everything.... A wife that loves me.... A son thats smart and cheerful..."

 "I guess its true... You dont know what you have until its gone..... Now that im on my deathbed... The only thing that matter is you and your mum...."

 

"All this money... All this power.... Means nothing....."

 

"How i wished i could turned back the time and make right all the wrong i did to you....."

 

"But its too late now...." Mr lee continue as tears flows from both his eyes

 

"Ani-ya abeoji... We will have more time in the future, we'll go fishing together like before.." Jonghyun said.. 

 

Jonghyun knows its impossible.. But he thinks that if this little white lies helps his dad to feel better, theres nothing wrong with telling them..

 

Mr lee just nooded and smile " that would be nice..." He replied..

 

"Jonghyun-yah... Im not going to ask you to forgive me.... "

"I dont think i've got the right to ask for anything....."

 

"But if you could..... Take care of you mother...... after...." Mr lee's voice is broken.. Thinking about how he will have to leave his beloved wife alone after he  passed

 

"I will... I promise you..." Jonghyun replied 

 

Yoona's tears by now has turn into sobs. Mr lees heard her sobs.. Jonghyun notices this. He signed yoona to come closer and says 

"Abeoji, this is im yoona... She is my girlfriend.."

"Annyeonghaseyo abeoji" yoona said

 

Mr lee looks at yoona and said.. "Jonghyun-ahh.. Can you leave us for a moment?..."

Jonghyun looks confused.. He's rather reluctant  to leave yoona alone.. But yoona looks at her and nods, giving him the "im ok" look.

Jonghyun nods and leaves the room

 

"Come closer..." Mr lee said

A smile formed the frail face of mr lee. "You must be the reason why my son is here tonight...." Mr lee said

Yoona looks surprised

"Dont be so surprised... I know how my boy is.... His stubborness is no less than mine.. I know it will take something... Or someone special.. to overcome it"

"Yoona-shi... " mr lee continues

"Please take care of jonghyun.... I know he seems like he's always in control and never needed anyone... But inside... He is a lonely boy who longs for love and affection...."

 

"Hukkk! Hukkk!! Hukkk!!" Mr lee coughs heavily as he spoke

"Abeoji.. Please Dont force yourself to talk... " yoona looks at the frail mr lee with glassy eyes again

 

"Ani-yaa... Kwenchana... I have to say this now..." He insisted

 

".....My sins.. In the past has turned him into the cold person that he is now... But deep inside he is a very loving boy... I hope you will be patient with him...."

 

"If he ever in the future he does or says something that hurts you... Please be easy on him... It is not his fault... It is mine for not raising him how a father should..."

 

"Dae... I will remember your words well....." Yoona replied...

 

The old man nods with a satisfaction...he then said.. " can you ask that boy to come back in"

 

Jonghyun came back in and give yoona a puzzled looked. Yoona just smiled and hold his hand.

 

"Jonghyun-ahhh... Remember this..." Mr lee said

 

"A measure of man is not by how much money he earns..."

"Or how high the status he achieved....."

"Or how much power he possesed...."

 

"You can trully measure a man's worth by seeing how well he treats those who nearest to him...."

 

"Treat those who you love and love you well...."

 

"Be a better man then i ever was..." Mr lee finally said

 

"And finally two both of you... Live a happy life... "

 

"Leave no regrets... Life is too sort"

 

Suddenly the door opens and a nurse walked in

"I think mr lee needs his rest now...." The nurse said...

 

Jonghyun and yoona nods and greets mr lee goodbye... Jonghyun opened the door and As he was about to leave... He looks back and said...

 

"Appa.... I forgive you.... Please be well" he then walked off with yoona and left

 

Jonghyun's mum heard this.. She rushed to her husband and hugged each other while crying in relieve...

 

Finally... an 8 years old grudge is settled....

 

 

"Yoona-yah... Wanna go somewhere with me?.." Jonghyun asked

Yoona just smiles and nods

 

The couple went for a drive down south of sydney, to a place called kiama. Its about an hour and half drive from sydney..

It was earlier in the morning when they arrived... The Sun isnt even up yet...

 

Jonghyun parked his car near a coral beach area.

He guides yoona to one of the sits near the rocks... It was beautiful scene as they see the sun rises..

Suddenly water burst out from one of the rocks underneath the ground.. Yoona was shock and jumped near jonghyun..

Jonghyun smiled and said "this place is called kiama blowhole.. Its a spot where you can see naturally occuring blowholes"

Suddenly the water burst up again...

This time yoona looks at it in awe... The water sparkles as it hits the reflection of the rising sun...

Yoona laughs as she tries to avoid getting wet from the water

 

For a moment there... While looking at yoona's smiling face.. Jonghyun forgot all his problems....

 

RING RING

 

jonghyun phone suddenly rang

"Yoboseyo..." Jonghyun answered....

Suddenly jonghyun dropped the phone and froze..... He slowly sat on the nearby rock looking like his soul has departed from his body....

Yoona notices something is wrong.. She picks up the phone and said

"Yoboseyo..."

"Yoona-shi... This is jonghyun's uncle..."

 

"Jonghyun's appa...."

 

"....has just passed away" 

 

"Please take care of jonghyun...... He really needs you now..." He ended his words

 

"Dae.... " is all yoona said before hanging up

 

Tears falls from both yoona's eyes.. She thinks to herself "yoona-yah... You have to be strong... For him...." 

She gathers up courage and then moves closer to jonghyun

 

Yoona crouched in front of jonghyun... She sees him with s staright face... Trying to hold the pain and anger he's feeling...

 

She immediately hugs him tight and said 

 

"Jongie-ahh... You dont need to hold you pain... "

 

"Cry....."

 

"Scream....."

 

"Im here for you......"

 

Jonghyun remains motionless like a statue....

 

"He's gone??....." He suddenly speaks

"It cant be... After all these years.... We finally ........" Jonghyun said

 

Yoona heard this and she began to sob harder

 

"Wae..... "

 

"Wae......  "

 

"WAEEEEE !!!!!!!!"
