Another day passed. She waited at the same gate. It was weird. It was unusual for Shuwei to be late.

Then came the main lead.

He pushed himself forward, at an expectionally slow rate. He appeared to avoid Jiaxin's eyes. Yet he did not reject when Jiaxin went forward to help him.

The journey home was normal. But it was quiet. Too quiet. Shuwei was not cracking any jokes. He was not chatting excitedly as usual. He remained silent throughout the whole journey.

Jiaxin did not know why. She only knew that the atmosphere was not right.

Then they came to the place where they always parted.

"Jiaxin..."

"Hmm?" Jiaxin was relieved that he finally spoke to her.

"You don't have to wait for me anymore."

"Why?"

"I'll... I'll be practising basketball for the coming competition."

"Oh... it's okie. I can wait for you after you've finished practising."

"Don't need." The reply was cold.
"I mean, i'll stay until very late. So, you'll just go home without me alright?" He persisted.

Jiaxin had no choice but to agree.

But she knew Shuwei was lying.
