Yunho opened his eyes as he woke up from the cold,
the first thing he was the stars and the dark night sky with only a few street lights illuminating the area.

*what the hell?...where am i?*

He looked around and sat up, he recognized the place…he was at the park.

more exactly,

Sitting on the bench, the exact same place where he got rejected.

“nice...”

He scoffed bitterly.

“hey”

he heard someone call and then he looked up to see a girl sitting at the edge of the bench.

she immediately punched his face,catching him off guard.

“what the was that for,?...”

He shouted to the girl as he clutched his now even more bruised cheek.

The girl grinned devilishly

then she spoke

“...for beating my guys up”

She answered simply and shrugged.

“your…guys???as in… you are the leader of those stupid weaklings?”

“those weaklings knocked you out cold. And yes, I am their leader.”

She answered with 'a matter of factly' tone.

Yunho raised an eyebrow then he asked.

“...are you sure little girl?”

He asked incredulously, a GIRL? A gang leader?

The girl turned red in anger.

“you didn’t just call me little girl right?”

She asked with a clipped voice and yunho grinned.

“I just did…Little girl.”

He smirked but then she punched his face again and this time hard.

*Damn the was fast AND strong, that hurt like hell!*

“WHY YOU UGLY !!!!!!”

Yunho shouted in anger and the girl just smiled innocently.

“did that hurt???...you didn’t think that a LITTLE GIRL could punch like that, didn’t you???”

She asked sarcastically.

*the little devil!*

Yunho thought bitterly.

As he glared at the girl beside him, she just smiled innocently as she batted her eyelashes trying to piss yunho even more.

It was then that he got to look at her closely,
he called her ugly but the girl in front of him was nowhere near ugly,
despite the black shirt she was wearing and faded jeans with stylish chains, she was also wearing a converse, making her look like a rebel,

But despite her tough girl look, her face actually has very soft features, he could see her big innocent eyes through the light of the street lamps, she also has a sharp nose line and beautiful lips, her figure was nice too, as far as the jeans she was wearing hugged her legs beautifully, her hair was tied messily making a few strands hang on her neck.

She was beautiful in a different way.

“tsk..tsk..you must be retarded staring at people like that...”

He heard the girl say teasingly and he realized that he was staring.

And he immediately looked away.

Silence filled the park as they were two of the few people out late at night.

“hey…”

He heard the girl call out again and he was hesitant to look again.

“I won’t punch you again if that’s what you are worrying about”

The girl laughed and hesitantly yunho looked at her,
She handed him a can of cold soda.

“press it to your lips, it’s bleeding…”

She said softly and he wondered why she was being thoughtful to him.

He beat some of his ‘guys’ up right?

Shouldn’t she be punishing him instead?.

“that’s right…I should be punishing you instead, beating you to death and all…. “

She teased as she looked into his eyes. She smiled teasingly.

His eyes widened.

*is she a mind reader?*

The girl laughed.

“I’m not a mind reader either”

He frowned.

...What is this girl really???

“ I just find you… easy to read..”

She said softly as he pressed the cold can to his lips, it felt numb.

“YAH!!!!what do you mean by that?”

He asked harshly.

And she glared at him.

Then she took a sip of her soda and said

“do you know what’s fascinating about chess?”

She asked all of a sudden.

He scoffed.
“aside from being boring?...”

He answered sarcastically.

she ignored him she stared straight ahead. and continued

“it’s how sometimes, it’s very similar to real life…”

He looked at her as she was staring of ahead and he listened.

“life…love…is like a game of chess, it is a battle.”

She took another sip and started again

“do you know that in chess the king is useless once the queen is gone?”

She asked to nobody in particular but yunho got curious

“why?...”

He asked

“it’s because, if the queen is gone… the king would be too heartbroken and too tired to fight…"

she paused for awhile then continued.

...he loved her you know...”

she finished.

She stated and somehow he could sense an implication on her words.

Is HE that king and now that he has lost you, he is too tired to continue? Is that what she means???

*FLASHBACK*

“I-I’m sorry…yunho-shii…I-I don’t feel the same way..I love someone else…I’m sorry”

You spoke sadly as you saw his eyes change, from hopeful they suddenly turned unreadable and you felt even more awful

*I Hurt him*

Then Yunho closed his eyes and took a deep breath

*It’s Jaejoong right?”

he asked and you gasped was it that obvious?

Smiling sadly at him you answered

“yes…it’s jaejoong…I’m really sorry Yunho-shii…”

-end of flashback-

Then he scoffed bitterly

“the king never had her in the first place…”

He remembered you telling him that it’s jaejoong that you love.

It slipped his mouth and the girl looked at yunho carefully,
he was frowning but his eyes were sad.

She sighed and stood up and slowly start to walk away.

That caught yunho’s attention and he looked up at her.

He was unsure what to say to this girl.

Then the girl turned back and looked at yunho who was still sitting on the bench
She spoke

“the most important thing when playing chess… is to think everything through and give the game your best shot...

... Even if you lost, you didn’t have any regrets because you gave it your everything…”

He thought her words through, and for the first time since the last two weeks, Yunho smiled a little.

She said and started walking away.

Was it her way of comforting him? By comparing chess to his situation?

he didn’t want to admit it but…it was working.

He looked at the girl as she was about to walk away.

“wait…”

Yunho called.

“who are you?...”he whispered.

And the girl smiled a little.

“Sol Mi…Lee Sol Mi”

He heard her whisper and then she walked off and disappeared leaving yunho alone…

he stayed there for a few minutes thinking about everything that has happened today but the sudden ache in his body assaulted him and he decided to walk home,

his aunt would have a fit if she saw him like this.

Battered and bruised.

She would probably give him a long lecture about getting into fights, he sighed and uneasily walked off.
