Juniel – Illa Illa

The week met its ending faster than expected as Se Kyung walked back and forth impatiently. She will constantly glanced at the ticking clock as an excited smile always appeared on her face – indeed, Se Kyung was more than giddy to meet her long lost sister.

“Se Kyung… you are making me dizzy.” With an amused smile, Mr Baek exclaimed playfully as his eyes were trailing after her daughter. He had to admit that he couldn’t wait to see Min Yun as well, since Se Kyung herself was already excited like that.

The said girl let out a small giggle before she decided to sit next to her father. “I couldn’t wait to see my unnie, appa! It has been a long time since I last saw her!” Her face was as bright, as if a spotlight was shining on her own figure.

Mr Baek nodded gently with a line of smile, keeping the word of reply to himself. Sometimes, it was better for not to say anything. His black orbs were staring off towards the door of their house when his mind was imagining things that his wife could’ve done with their older daughter since Mrs Baek personally wanted to pick her up.

As if Mr Baek owned a mind control’s power, the door was pushed open, revealing the soft face of Mrs Baek along with an unfamiliar face – Min Yun’s. Upon seeing the woman who she was dying to meet, Se Kyung jumped up from her seat and rushed towards the stranger with a beaming face. “Unnie? Are you my Min Yun unnie?”

“Yes, indeed! You are Se Kyung, right? Omo, unnie missed you so much!” The older one, who was known as Min Yun, squished Se Kyung into a tight hug, along with her high-pitched voice. “You’ve grown up into a wonderful young woman. Unnie’s glad!” Her fingers cupped Se Kyung’s face a tad too forcefully as she kept a wide grin to everyone.

If it wasn’t because the woman in front of her was her older sister, Se Kyung would’ve shifted away from the cold touch of Min Yun’s. As far as she remembered, her sister used to be mature and always had a serious expression on her face–but this new Min Yun–was too different. Did time changed the way my unnie behave? Nonetheless, the younger girl assumed that Min Yun probably was just as excited as she was as they'd finally met each other again. After all, they haven’t seen each other for 5 years and a half.

A sudden clap grabbed both of the girls’ attention as Mrs Baek’s eyes were bright with plans. “Now, Kyungie, why don’t you have a day out with your unnie and your friends after we show her around our villa?”

Hesitantly nodding, Se Kyung then glanced towards the grinning Min Yun in front of her. “But umma, I have classes to attend at the university at 2. It’s one and a half hour from now.” Her tone was lowered, afraid that she could hurt their feelings by making her studies the first priority.

Mrs Baek shook her head gently before she demanded, “I knew that you will be busy with classes today, but just for once in a while, spend your time with your sister, okay? You’ve just met her anyway–and introduce her to your friends. I’m sure that the SHINee boys knew that you used to have a sister before.”

Not knowing how to reply in order not to disappoint her mother’s wish, Se Kyung only nodded with a guilt as she noticed the dull feeling in her chest when Mrs Baek asked her to introduce Min Yun to her friends. “All right, umma. I will take her to EXO M’s house first before we go to pick up the other SHINee boys at their houses.”

The doorbell rang throughout the classical villa before Luhan rushed to get the door, having the image of an exact person, who will come for a visit, in his mind. Xiu Min watched the former with a fast thumping heart, knowing the fact that today was the day. Without him knowing, cold sweats already rolled down on his smooth skin when an assurance pat could be felt from the back. Glancing over his shoulder, his eyes caught the sight of Kris, who was pressing his lips in a firm line–and Tao who looked extremely scared.

On the other hand, Luhan was opening the door wide, revealing two faces. Having no clue about Xiu Min’s past, the man plastered a huge grin on his face as he welcomed both girls in. “Se Kyung! Is this your sister? Omo, good morning and hello!” He bowed lightly as the other girl giggled and eventually bowed as well.

“Hi, I’m Min Yun! Se Kyung’s sister! It is nice to meet you—?”

“Luhan.”

“Luhan-ssi! I hope we can be friends.” With a pitched voice, Min Yun exclaimed before she walked into the house by her own.

Se Kyung gazed at Luhan with a half-hearted smile as she said, “I have no idea that my older sister act like me too.”

Letting out a boyish chuckle, Luhan patted Se Kyung’s head in a friendly way he owned. “No, it’s okay. You are still special though! Even though you and your sister are both chirpy, you are more well-mannered and innocent.” His eyes made the shape of beautiful crescents as he ruffled her hair.

Smiling with a touched heart, Se Kyung muttered a small thank before she lightly hugged him. “I don’t know why, but I feel strange to see Min Yun unnie again—although I did missed her so much.” Confessing, she leaned on his beating chest slightly, seeking for a comfort from a close friend.

Startled by her sudden act, Luhan raised his hand and hesitantly rubbed her back in a soothing way. Right then, he wasn’t sure whether if he looked at Se Kyung as a friend or as an old crush. “It’s okay… maybe you just feel a bit awkward. But everything will be just fine soon, don’t worry, okay?” Realising the fact that the feelings could grow once again, Luhan pulled apart from the friendly hug (from what Se Kyung see) and nervously smiled. “Are you planning to let Min Yun-ssi to stay here? You have classes today, right?”

A genuine chuckle escaped Se Kyung’s lips, feeling a tad relieved with Luhan’s words of assurance just now. “Yes, but umma told me to skip it for this whole day since I’m going to show Min Yun unnie Seoul–along with all of you and SHINee! Isn’t it exciting? A day out with all of us?” She skipped lightly in her steps as her hand pulled Luhan towards the living room, where she was sure that EXO M along with Min Yun were exchanging conversations.

“Omo, really? Wow, that would be great, Kyungie! Are we going right now?” Covering the sudden attack of the return of his feeling, Luhan excitedly asked when Se Kyung stopped in her tracks. Confused with her abruptness, Luhan followed Se Kyung’s gaze and widened his eyes at the view. Instantly, he covered Se Kyung’s eyes and spun her around to face him instead.

  U KISS – Painful Than Pain

Xiu Min curled a strand of hair behind Min Yun’s ear before he leaned close to her ear and whispered, “Are you really her sister?” Coldly, he asked before he pulled away.

Gulping, Min Yun nodded in hesitant as she tilted her head up slightly. “O-Of course, I am! Who else would I be?”

Tao knitted his eyebrows in fear when Xiu Min eyed her from head to toe. He knew what will happen, and he knew what was happening to Luhan — from everything that he’d saw in the future. But Tao didn’t dare to change it, as he was afraid that things could be more horrendous than it already was.

“Don’t mind Xiu Min hyung. He’s like this when it comes to new people.” Stated Chen before he pulled Xiu Min away for a private talk. Both of them stepped into the garden as Chen stared at Xiu Min suggestively. “What happened, hyung? Why did you asked Se Kyung’s sister such questions?”

Heaving out a sigh of relief, Xiu Min replied calmly, “It is not her. Chen, I’m glad that it is not her.” His eyes stared back towards Chen with a flash of his light grin.

Patting Xiu Min’s shoulder brotherly, Chen’s lips curled upwards as he spoke, “Having the same name doesn’t means that the person will be the same too. This Min Yun is not your Min Yun, hyung. Don’t worry.”

Nodding, Xiu Min threw his gaze towards the transparent door of the back door which connected to the living room. “Yes. What Kris had said to me before was true, after all.” He lowered his head momentarily before he met with Chen’s gaze which begun to be filled with anxiety.

“But hyung, may I ask you something?”

“What?”

“Are you—still in love with your late-girlfriend?”

Startled, Xiu Min only stared still towards Chen as the question hit him hard in the heart. He clearly realised that his heart was growing towards Se Kyung, but the love for his Min Yun — was it even love from the beginning? Did he still loved Min Yun? With a confused heart, Xiu Min slowly muttered a reply, “I don’t know, Chen.”

Slightly knitting his eyebrows in response of Xiu Min’s confusion, Chen placed a hand on the latter’s shoulder with a line of smile. “It’s okay, hyung. You will get everything clear soon.”

The older man only nodded as his mind was crowded with his true feelings and two girls, when Tao abruptly popped on their side with his red puffy eyes. “It is the same Min Yun.” Without any further explanation, he stated in seriousness. “They are the same.” His figure became closer towards Xiu Min along with the dark air which embraced him from behind.

Xiu Min stepped aback slightly as he eyed Tao carefully, who was staring deathly towards him. Just then, Kris swiftly appeared and grabbed Tao’s arm, spinning him around. “I don’t know what is happening to Tao. He refused to talk to me about anything that he’d saw in the future but he keep bothering you and Min Yun. Even at night, he will sneaked into my room and stared at me until the morning comes.” A sigh full of tiredness escaped his lips as he gestured Tao to stand behind him.

Glancing towards Tao in anxiety, Chen spoke up, “I don’t want to know about what will happen in the future, but—”

“You are next—after duizhang.” Not letting the older one to finish his sentences, Tao informed while back-facing everyone, standing still behind Kris. His dark blonde hair lightly covered his eyes as his shoulders were slumped down, as if he was carrying a massive burden.

In fear, Chen stared towards Tao’s back before he approached him quietly. “W-What do you mean?” His question, however, met the death silence of Tao when the garden was filled with the air of fear mixed with curiosity for an exact one minute.

Kris raked his fingers through his golden hair with a slight glimpse over his shoulder. “He was telling me the same thing — you are before Chen hyung — every time I woke up. Yesterday, I caught Tao went to Jessica’s younger sister’s apartment, but I couldn’t make what he’d told her. The only thing that I knew was that Krystal collapsed onto the ground after that.” His eyes flashed the memory of yesterday, when he had to rush Jessica into Krystal’s apartment in order to comfort her from an undiscovered fear that she’d heard from Tao.

Holding on his heart from imagining horrible things which may be happening in the future, Chen slowly nodded before he reached for the door to the living room. “I—don’t know, duizhang. Maybe Tao is shaken from what he’d discovered. It is a part of my fault too, after all, I’m sorry.”

Meanwhile, two people were sitting by each other’s side in an elegant car without a word to be exchanged from the usual chirpiness of theirs. The one who was sitting on the driver seat – Se Kyung – had her eyes wide with the image of her sister and Xiu Min being extremely close to each other. That sight seemed like both of them were about to kiss, and as Se Kyung tried not to think negatively, she couldn’t help but to let a part of the darker side of assumption to be absorbed into her mind.

Luhan, on the other side, kept glancing towards Se Kyung in worry. He fiddled with his fingers uncomfortably, didn’t know how to assure her that the sight could possibly be a misunderstanding. After a long silence, Luhan eventually gathered up his courage to speak, “Kyungie… you’re okay?”

Snapping out from the trail of her thoughts, Se Kyung turned her head around to face the anxious Luhan before she smiled weakly. “They—weren’t doing that, don’t they?” Her voice trembled lightly, filled with sadness, pain and high hope.

Startled to listen to the distress from a girl as bright as Se Kyung, Luhan gazed straight into her brown orbs and couldn’t help but to felt hurt as well. “No, they didn’t, Se Kyung. Xiu Min could just be whispering to Min Yun — I knew him for a long time already, at least for 5 years. Xiu Min actually is someone loyal, and he didn’t cheat when he had a girl by his side. Don’t be sad, Se Kyung.” Gently, he comforted her with slightly knitted eyebrows.

The girl softly nodded with a faux smile. “You are right, Luhan oppa. Thanks for always be a great friend from the beginning.” Her orbs travelled for his reaction, seeking for a thankful face–but the only thing that she saw was the small grin on Luhan’s lips to slowly faded away.

Perhaps Luhan begun to develop the old crush for Se Kyung’s once again—which explained the reason why he felt a merciless pang in his heart, when the realisation that Se Kyung will only gaze at him as a friend, hit him. A soft hand s on the top of his as he slowly stared up towards her beautiful face. “What’s wrong?” Her voice caused his eardrum to vibrated before he lost in her brown orbs. The ego part of him urged him to capture her alluring lips, but the rational part of him held him back–and Luhan decided to follow the latter. “Nothing, Se Kyung.” He took the girl’s hand into his grip as he flashed her a smile. “I’m glad that you like my company as a friend.”

A light nod caused Se Kyung’s brown curls to bounce up and down slightly before she shook her hand in Luhan’s grip. “Would it be okay, if you call the others to come out? Please?” If it wasn’t because of Xiu Min’s incident just now, Se Kyung will be more than happy to skip back into the villa and drag EXO M into her car to begin their little trip around Seoul.

As Luhan understood Se Kyung well for her current condition, he nodded obediently and stepped out of the car with a mutter of okay. As long as Se Kyung was happy, then he will be happy too—although he will only neglect his feeling even more. As long as it was for Se Kyung’s smile, Luhan would swallow the pain for her.
