Taeyeon’s POV:

I silently observed her from our safe distance.

Her wavy hair complimented her face well, as the light shined brightly on her.

She wore a perplexed expression with arms crossed on her chest with her eyes glued to the television screen.

“I didn’t know that you were still here” I decided to break the silence and let her know of my presence.

“I’m heading out in a bit”

“Oh…”

“Do you want to come with me?” She turned to face me with a bright smile.

“I-I  h-have  s-somewhere to go” I lied. I couldn’t let her know that I was spending Christmas by myself. I didn’t need the pity...

She bit her bottom lip and frowned.

“You don’t have to lie to me. Sunny called me earlier saying you were going to be alone today. It was just a suggestion so you could have just rejected the offer…I’ll get going now. Merry Christmas Taeyeon” She faked a smile and stood up before walking towards the door.

Gosh...The situations I get myself into...

“Wait Jessica!” I ran after her and blocked the door.

“Hmmm?”

“I didn’t know that you already knew…I’m sorry for lying to you” I looked down.

She held my chin up and made me look at her.

I felt soft lips brush on mine.

It was unexpected, but I wasn’t complaining.

“Apology accepted.”

My heart was beating rapidly. I felt a strange feeling. The feeling of being alive again. As if I just woke up from a coma. As if it was the first time my heart ever palpitate. The first time it throbbed.  The simple kiss somewhat brought me to life again. Somewhat taught my heart how it could beat. She had that effect on me... Indeed, my life revolves around her...

I was too into my thoughts, that I hadn’t realised that I was still standing in the same spot the whole time until a fake cough brought me back to conscience.

“Are you just going to block my way the whole day?” Her laughter brought me back to reality and interrupted my train of thoughts.

“Hmmm?”

“Were you not listening the whole time?”She smirked at me. “I was asking if you’re still rejecting my offer”

“Oh. About that...I don’t know…”

“If you think my parents would actually mind, you’re dead wrong. They’ve been asking me when you’d join us for Christmas again…”

“Wouldn’t it be weird though?”

“What do you mean?”

“I mean...When I did come with you, we were dating” I explained.

“Ahhhh~ T-that doesn’t matter...My parents are your parents and your parents are my parents. We’re sisters, remember? All nine of us are.”

“True…” Sisters...Just sisters were all we were ever meant to be…

“So, are you coming?”

“Can I actually say no?”I teased.

“You can, but I hardly doubt you will. I won’t let you.”With that, her cocky smirk reappeared. One that, I admit, is highly convincing.

“Then I should start dressing”

“Don’t take long. I waited long enough for you to wake up.”

“Wait...You drove back to the dorm just to ask me to spend Christmas with you?”

“Yes. So be grateful that the ice-princess went through such trouble just for you”

“Gosh I feel honored.”

“You should.”

I laughed and walked back to my room.

I don’t think forgiving her would be as difficult as I thought it would be.

“Hey Jessica...What should I buy for your parents?”I asked the girl as I was driving.

“Don’t buy them anything. They’ll feel burdened.”

“Oh...Then how about for Krystal?”

“Taeyeon, you really don’t need to get them anything. It’s not necessary.”

“The kiss earlier wasn’t necessary…”I muttered.

She cleared and I couldn’t help but laugh.

“About that… It was a friendly thing so don’t think much more of it”

I averted my attention from the road to her.

“What kind of person would kiss their friend on the lips just to say they accept their apology?”

“Ummm….An American.”

“Fany doesn’t do that.” But I do admit that the pink monster can be quite affectionate, but never to that extent.

“That’s different. Now, stop staring at me and pay attention to the road.”

“Alright, but don’t think that you are off the hook”I looked back at the road and focused on driving.
