Girls like those. I mean, real girls like those. But for someone named Kim Yejin, those are useless and something that she wouldn’t even bother looking.

Those were not her thing.

Kim Yejin is the other way around.

She is the complete opposite of being a girl.

She is a tomboy afterall. Someone who wasn't really meant to be a girl, just like what she believes in.

Arcades. Basketball. Guns. Racing. Over sized tees. Chuck Taylors. Caps. Faded pants.

That's what she wants. She’s boyish in every little way.

Sometimes, I even feel as if she’s more manlier than I am.

That’s who Kim Yejin is.

And she is my bestfriend. My best bud. My Bro. My partner in crime. We met because our mothers are best friends. We’ve known each other since we were in our diapers. Meaning, we’ve known each other even before we knew how to talk and read and such.

I’ve known her too well. Her likes, dislikes, what makes her happy and what makes her sad.

We share a lot of interests. And she’s someone who I deeply care for. Someone I couldn’t afford to lose.

And I thought it was purely platonic. I thought what I felt for her was just normal.

But I guess it wasn’t.

Why?

One day, I literally woke up realizing that I am in love with her.

I realized that I am in love with my best friend. My tomboy bestfriend.

Sounds absurd?

Yes. Who would’ve thought that I’d fall in love with my Bro?

And I don’t know what kind of sorcery she used on me to make me fall in love with her so suddenly.

Was it her shampoo? Was it her perfume? Maybe because my Mom kept on insisting that I like her.

I don’t really know why and how. I tried to deny it. I tried to avoid it.

But the more I fight against my feelings, the more it becomes stronger.

Before, she was just my Bro.

And I never thought that I’d want her to be my girlfriend.

Ever.

I mean, she’s like a guy to me. And that’s what she thinks as well.

I don’t know how it happened and I know I shouldn’t be saying this but,
