“Yuri-ah!” The tanned girl peers toward the person who had just called her name over her shoulder. She immediately turns her body around and her heart suddenly skips a beat when the familiar guy is now making his way toward her.

The moment she sees him, she wants to run away from the guy. She is not ready to face him yet. But of course it’s a bad idea to do so. Instead of running away, she just remains in her position, waiting for him to approach her.

“I miss you.” That’s all Kai says once he stood right in front of Yuri. He swiftly pulls her into a tight embrace, burying his face in her hair that smells so good. He misses his best friend so much. It seems like it has been ages since he last saw her though it has only been two days since he couldn’t reach the girl.

“Is there anything wrong with you, Yul?” Kai whispers into her ear before he releases the hug. “I couldn’t reach you for two days. You didn’t reply my text message nor answer my call. Where have you been? I’m really worried about you. I miss my best friend so much!” He finally releases the hug. He is holding her face with both of his hands. He couldn’t help but to feel relieve that he finally could see her.

I miss you too, Kai.

She couldn’t deny that she misses him too. She misses him like crazy. But she just keeps it inside, knowing that this guy already taken by someone. She doesn’t want him to know about what she really feels at the moment. It might ruin everything.

Yuri looks at him intently. By the look of his eyes, she could tell that he is indeed worried about her and it makes her to feel bad to make him worried.

“Something came up. So yeahh…” She lies to him and of course she really feels bad for lying. How could she tell him that she is actually suffering a huge pain by his sudden dating news?

“You should have told me, you know.” There is a disappointment in his voice and she clearly notices it.

“I know.” She hangs her head low.

“But why?” He inquires, now putting his hands on her shoulders.

“Kai, please…” Yuri begs, looking up at him. She doesn’t want to argue with him, at least not now. “It’s so personal. I’m sorry to make you worried about me. I’m truly sorry.” She continues, averting her gaze to somewhere else when Kai is trying to process her words.

Kai sighs audibly and finally gives in. “Okay, I won’t ask more. But I couldn’t stop worrying about you, Yul-”

“I’m fine now, Kai.” Yuri quickly cuts him off. She sounds a bit cold to him but that is all she could do now. She needs to do it or else she couldn’t move on at all.

“Sorry but I need to do the groceries shopping now. Omma might be waiting at home. Bye!” Yuri excuses herself and she is about to enter the supermarket when Kai suddenly grabs her by the wrist. She turns around and furrows her eyebrows. “What now, Kai?” She shots him a glare which make him a bit surprised.

However, another loud sigh escapes from his lips. He doesn’t have any idea why is Yuri acting like this to him. He is so clueless. She never acts like this toward him. It makes him worried and confused at the same time.

“Look, Yuri.” Kai begins rather in a stern voice. “I have no idea of why you’re acting this way. If I do something wrong then I’m so sorry. I don’t want us to be like this. Please…” He mutters under his breathe, still holding her wrist. Their eyes met.

Yuri on the other hand decides to keep herself in a silent mode.

“Yul, please… At least let me accompany you to do the groceries shopping.”  He pleads her, hoping that she will let him accompany her. Plus, he needs to buy fruits for s too. That is the reason why he went to the supermarket and he accidently met his best friend there which is what he thankful of.

Yuri sighs deeply. Why did I meet him here at this moment? She then looks at him and his eyes are begging her. “Fine. Let’s get in.” She finally gives in, motioning him to come with her into the supermarket.

“Are you sure you don’t want to tell me anything?” Kai asks her when they enter the supermarket, pushing the trolley with his hands. He walks with her side by side. Sometimes, he will glance toward his best friend because he couldn’t help but to feel happy that he finally could see her and talk with her after two days.

Yuri suddenly stops from walking. She turns to him and they exchange glances to one another. “Nope.” She shakes her head firmly that Kai only shrugs his shoulders after that, not wanting to argue with her about that.

“So what are you going to buy first?” The guy asks, looking around the supermarket. There are abundant amount of people that day since it is Saturday.

“The fridge was empty when Kris came so I think I need to buy….” Before Yuri could finish her words, the guy beside her immediately cuts her off.

“What? Kris came to your house? When?” Kai gives his best friend a suspicious look. Kris just came back to the dorm last night. Are these two being together without me knowing? Kai is currently battling with his own thoughts.

Yuri starts panicking as she just blurted something that she shouldn’t have said. Not wanting to look more suspicious, she quickly marches toward the vegetables area without even answering Kai’s question. She is busying herself there, searching for nothing.

“Are you hiding something from me? You were with Kris. Am I right?” Kai approaches her and demands an answer. He is now holding her arm tightly.

With his firm grip on her arm, Yuri’s body starts shivering as the guy’s eyes are fully on her. By the look of those eyes, she could see that he is still demanding an honest answer from her. It makes couldn’t utter any words. Thus, she keeps silent and averts her eyes to the floor.

Stupid mouth! She mentally scolds herself.

Kai sighs when his best friend doesn’t answer his question. He is so sure that Yuri must be hiding something from him. There are many thoughts running on his mind at the moment.

“Kai….” Yuri could finally utter his name, interrupting his train of thoughts. He looks at her in hopeful eyes, hoping that she will be honest to him this time.

“Yes, Kris went to my house…” Yuri nervously admits. Truthfully, she doesn’t know if it is a good idea to tell Kai the truth about it.

Kai’s mouth suddenly forms an ‘O’ shape after what he just heard from her. Kris went to her house? Was that the reason why she didn’t return any of my text messages and calls? But why did she do that? His mind is battling with unanswered questions again.

“Excuse me, miss. I need to grab that carrot.” A middle-aged woman suddenly interrupts those two.

Realizing that she blocks the way, Yuri quickly apologizes and moves a little so that the woman could grab the carrot into her shopping bag.

“Tell me the whole thing.” Kai quickly demands when the middle-aged woman finally disappears from their sights. Despite all the noises in the supermarket somehow disturb their conversation, Kai doesn’t care about it. What he cares is her explanation.

“So, I was all the way worried about you these two days and I thought something might be happened to you because you never ignored my text messages and calls.” Kai states rather in disappointment.

He’s so worried about her these past two days and he also thought that something bad might be happened to her. But because of s kept on assuring him that she will be okay, he quickly put the thoughts away. But it seems like his concern to his friend is now pointless.

“But you were with Kris when I kept on worrying about you. You didn’t even bother to tell me at all. I am so disappointed, Yul. You lied.” Kai continuing shows his disappointment on her along with a loud sigh escapes from his mouth.

Meanwhile, Yuri’s forehead begins to crease. Why does Kai have to be so disappointed on her? It’s not like they are a couple that she is caught cheating on him. It’s just that Kris went to her house and was trying to heal her wounded heart though Kai is unaware of it. Her only fault is for lying to him. But she definitely doesn’t deserve all of Kai’s disappointment just because Kris went to her house.

“Why you have to be so disappointed on me?” Yuri inquires, rolling her eyes at him. She honestly doesn’t want to argue with her best friend. Plus, they are in the inappropriate place to discuss about the whole thing. But she doesn’t understand why Kai is so disappointed about it.

Kai suddenly lost in words when Yuri asked him that. She is right. Why would he be so disappointed on her about it? He is confused too. He doesn’t know if he is disappointed about her lying to him or about the fact that Yuri didn’t return any of his text messages and calls because she was actually with Kris. He just went to her house and there was obviously nothing wrong with that. Kris is their friend too.

“Kai, look… I don’t want to argue with you just because of this.” Yuri mutters. “Kris went to my house because I told him to. And the reason why I didn’t return any of your text messages and calls is because I just didn’t want to disturb your time with Krystal. That’s all.”
