Prince class

“Yah you bastards better let me go right now!” Sunggyu threatened. He was sitting at the back of the van, blindfolded, with his wrists bound, as his two kidnappers drove him somewhere in the dead of night…well ok it was actually only seven in the evening. “I-I have pepper spray!”

“Do we have something to gag him with?”

“Key, don’t speak! He’ll recognize your voice!”

“You idiot Jinwoon! Don’t say my name! Besides he’s never met me so he wouldn’t recognize my voice anyways!”

“Whoops.” Jinwoon chuckled sheepishly, but then gasped. “Wait but you just said my name!”

“…Oh crap.”

Sunggyu sighed. “Now that I know both your identities, mind taking this blindfold off me?”

“No!” Key retorted, in a snippy tone.

“Why not?!” Sunggyu growled.

“It’s not like it would make a difference! Your eyes are so tiny, it’s not like you can see anything anyways!” Jinwoon huffed.

“Rude!” Sunggyu pouted. “You guys are jerks. Why does Woohyun hang out with brats like this? I really need to make him get his own place or something…”

“See I told you he was evil!” Jinwoon shrieked, switching lanes frantically, as he pulled onto the highway. “He’s trying to separate me and Woohyun! He wants to destroy our love!”

“Just because you want to bone him, doesn’t mean you love him.” Key rolled his eyes.

“ is the purest form of expressing love, you know!” Jinwoon exclaimed.

“But you don’t love him!” Key groaned.

“Why do you care anyways! You already have someone to love! The rest of us can only take what we can get!” Jinwoon cried, dramatically.

“But you’re not getting any!”

“I’m going to give you little s ten seconds to take this blindfold off, and tell me what’s going on here, before I unleash hell on your asses.” Sunggyu threatened.

“Ooh I’m so scared.” Key snorted. Suddenly Sunggyu bent over, and dug his fingers into his sock, pulling out a spray bottle. He sprayed it right in Key’s face, causing the latter to screech and flail his arms in the air. “OH MY GOD! HE GOT ME! I’VE GOT PEPPER SPRAY IN MY EYES! MY EYES! MY BEAUTFUL FLAWLESS EYES—!”

“Calm down, it was just water.” Sunggyu sighed.

“…Oh.” Key stopped flapping around.

“Now you better start talking.”

Suddenly Jinwoon pulled off to the side of the road, and turned off the car. He and Key exchanged a suspicious look, before they both turned to stare at Sunggyu at the back seat. Jinwoon leaned forward and pulled the blindfold off the confused hamster. Sunggyu squinted in the darkness, looking around.

“Where…where are we?” His backed away slightly, when he noticed Jinwoon’s hands dangerously close to his crotch. “W-What are you—?” Jinwoon dug his hand in Sunggyu’s pocket and fished out his cell phone.

“Got it!” Jinwon cheered and handed Key the phone.

“Good.” Key grinned as he started doing something on Sunggyu’s phone.

“W-What are you doing?”

“We’re deleting Woohyun’s number from your phone.”

“Huh?” Sunggyu cocked an eyebrow. “Why?”

“So you’ll stop bothering him.” Key stated. “He needs to forget about you and finally move on to someone better.”

“Like me~” Jinwoon sang.

“Uh well not exactly you. But someone who will treat him better than—.”

“What did he tell you?” Sunggyu murmured, his head lowered with his bangs shadowing his eyes.

“Huh?” Key inspected his cuticles. “Well he didn’t tell us anything, but—.”

“So you don’t know anything.” Sunggyu snorted, turning to shoot the two younger men a dark smirk. “What do you even know about him?”

Key frowned. “We’re his friends! Of course we know all about him!”

“Yeah!” Jinwoon nodded avidly. “We know him way better than you!”

Sunggyu recalled his conversation with Woohyun earlier. Woohyun had said Sunggyu was the one who understood him better than anyone else. He couldn’t help but think of that and feel superior to the two sitting in front of him.

But then he remembered that he was also the one who had hurt Woohyun…and that made him feel like again. He had no right to think he was better than Key or Jinwoon or anyone else for that matter. Because he wasn’t. Maybe they were right. No, he was absolutely convinced they were right. Woohyun deserved someone better than him. He already knew that.

A nice girl. Yes, that sounded good. It sounded easy.

“What do you want with me?” Sunggyu mumbled.

“Leave Woohyun alone.” Key instructed.

“I’m trying to!” Sunggyu exclaimed. “He’s the one who keeps…”

“You know he had a one night stand last night!” Jinwoon blurted out.

Sunggyu remembered the hickey, and figured Woohyun got that from whoever it was that he slept with.

“Was it…was it a girl?” Sunggyu asked quietly.

“Uh yeah?” Jinwoon blinked. “But why does that matter? I mean I don’t think he’s ever slept with any guys to be honest—.”

“Really?” Sunggyu looked up, hopefully.

Key narrowed his eyes suspiciously at the hamster. “Yah…do you like him or something—?”

“N-No!” Sunggyu gasped, and instantly focused his eyes on the nightly scenery outside the window. “C-Can you take me home now…?”

“Wait, but aren’t you going to that party the Rose Prince is having?” Jinwoon asked.

“Huh? How’d you guys know about that?”

“If there’s a party at the palace,” Key grinned. “Everyone knows about it.”

*

“Why can’t you just drop me off, before you go to the palace?” Sunggyu griped, as Jinwoon parked the white van inside the palace’s premier parking lot, which was filled with cars that cost more than what a commoner earns in a decade.

“Because we don’t want to drive all the way back. We’ll miss the party.” Key hummed and casually got out of the car. He opened up the back door and untied Sunggyu’s wrists. He studied the older male’s getup, which consisted of a baggy grey t-shirt, that had a chocolate stain on it and black sweat pants with a logo running down the side.

“What am I supposed to do?” Sunggyu frowned.

“You could walk home?” Jinwoon suggested, standing behind Key with an amused grin.

“Yah, are you crazy?! That’ll take me all night!”

“Well it’s not like you can go to the party looking like that.” Key made a face.

“I don’t want to go to the stupid party anyways! I just want to—!”

“Hey guys! I didn’t know you were coming!” They turned to see Carl running up to them.

“Carl!” The three exchanged friendly greetings and so on. Sunggyu merely eyed them skeptically, wondering why Carl seemed to be so friendly with everyone.

“Ah Sunsaeng-nim!” Carl bowed politely to Sunggyu.

“You know him?” Jinwoon asked.

“He’s the Rose Prince’s teacher.” Carl reminded them.

“Ah right…” Key paused, glancing from Sunggyu to Carl. “Say, Carl…do you have any spare clothes we could borrow?”

*

Myungsoo stood awkwardly in the corner of the huge ballroom, sipping a Shirley Temple. He watched as princes, princesses, dukes, duchesses, and other young members of royalty waltzed around, donned in suits and pretty dresses and pearls. They all looked like they were having the time of their lives, chatting, dancing and laughing. Myungsoo felt like a stranger in his own home. He kind of wanted to go back up to his room and watch some dramas…maybe read some manga.

“Hey.”

He looked up as Sungyeol leaned on the wall beside him.

“So this whole party thing wasn’t your idea, huh?” The taller boy grinned, as he snatched a shrimp puff off a passing waiter’s silver tray.

“Woohyun hyung…decided on it.” Myungsoo murmured.

“Why didn’t you tell him you didn’t want it then?” Sungyeol frowned.

Myungsoo shook his head. “It’s not that I don’t want it…its just…” His gaze fell on the excess of young people laughing it up and dancing. “I don’t know anyone…what am I supposed to do?”

“Well there’s a lot of things you can do.” Sungyeol grinned. “You can dance with pretty girls, talk to pretty girls, get drunk with pretty girls—.”

“Anything that doesn’t require pretty girls?” Myungsoo’s lips curved into a slight grin.

“Yah, that’s the best part!” Sungyeol laughed, but then his mind went back to his thoughts from before. About Myungsoo and Woohyun. “Hey, do you…?”

“Hm?” Myungsoo turned to him.

“You and Woohyun hyung, what’s that about?”

Myungsoo tilted his head. “Huh?”

“Uh…” Sungyeol focused his gaze back on the dance floor, awkwardly scratching the back of his head. “I just…I mean you named your bunny after him and all.”

“Ah, that’s because Namu kind of looks like Woohyun hyung. Their noses are the same.” Myungsoo smiled. Sungyeol couldn’t help but smile as well at the Rose Prince’s cute explanation. “Even though Woohyun hyung sometimes acts like a puppy, and other times like a cat, he looks like a bunny in some ways.”

Sungyeol tilted his head. He still had no idea what their relationship was. If Myungsoo saw Woohyun as a fluffy pet type animal…

“Ah!” He turned to Myungsoo. “What about me? What kind of animal do I look like?”

“You…?” Myungsoo studied Sungyeol’s face for a moment. “Giraffe.”

“What?” Sungyeol laughed. “Yah, that’s only because I’m tall!”

“Also…a deer.”

“Deer?”

“Your eyes…” Myungsoo pointed to the Lotus Prince’s face. “They look like Bambi’s.”

“Bambi?” Myungsoo nodded and Sungyeol grinned. “You’re weird.”

Myungsoo felt his heart thump nervously. He didn’t want to scare away the only person who actually made an effort to talk to him because of his strange personality.

“I—.”

“I like it.” Sungyeol slung an arm around Myungsoo’s shoulder. Myungsoo merely blinked. “I’m not weird like you, so I’ll balance you out.”

Myungsoo studied the choding’s face, and realized he was joking.

“Aren’t you weirder than me?” He smirked.

“Oh no, you’re definitely weirder.” Sungyeol laughed.

Myungsoo liked it. He liked Sungyeol’s laugh very much. He also liked Sungyeol’s sense of humor. He was nice to look at too.

This…” He thought, as Sungyeol went on, telling some crazy (probably fictional) story about his encounter with alien cows. “Is this…friendship?”

*

“Oh hell no.”

Sunggyu shoved the gold suit hanging in front of him to the ground. Key and Jinwoon had dragged the grumpy hamster into Carl’s cramped bedroom, which was in the servant’s quarters. Carl only had full gold clothing and nothing else.

“What the hell is up with this kingdom and gold?” Sunggyu sighed.

“You’re not from this kingdom?!” Jinwoon gasped.

“Wasn’t that obvious?” Key snorted. “He’s not fabulous enough to be born in the Rose Kingdom. He doesn’t have the sparkle.”

“If you’re talking about the sparkle of stupidity. Then yes, I do not have that.” Sunggyu retorted. “Is there something in the water here, that makes you all air heads or what?”

‘A-Air heads?!” Key put a hand to his chest in shock. “Yah how could you say that, you jerk!”

“You’re calling me a jerk?!” Sunggyu’s eyes narrowed angrily as he got right up in Key’s face. “You kidnapped me, and you’re calling me a jerk, you jerk!”

“I’m not the one who treated Woohyun like garbage!” Key retorted.

That was the last straw for Sunggyu. Without another word, he stormed out of the room, ignoring Jinwoon shouting “Where are you going?!”

Sunggyu was practically fuming. He already knew he didn’t do right by Woohyun, but it pissed him off that strangers were telling him that. As if they knew anything.

They didn’t know anything.

Woohyun was always like that. He never told anyone what was really going on inside his head.

Or maybe he just told them the bad things Sunggyu did. That made Sunggyu’s heart ache.

They had so many good memories. Sunggyu wondered if he was the only one who remembered them.

The evenings, when he helped Woohyun with his homework. They both usually ended up getting bored, and Sunggyu always fell sleep. Sometimes he just pretended to sleep, because he knew Woohyun liked to watch him and whisper sweet things in his ear, when he thought Sunggyu was sleeping.

He skipped out on parties and dates to stay in with Woohyun. Since Boohyun was seemingly always out, being the social butterfly he was, Woohyun was by himself in the evening. Usually Woohyun would also go out somewhere late at night, but one night when he came home with a bruise on his cheek, Sunggyu refused to let him go out too late anymore.

They only really dated for a few weeks, but for Sunggyu, it was some of the happiest few weeks of his life. He thought Woohyun also felt that way.

“What am I thinking…?” Sunggyu thought to himself as he wandered down an empty hall. “Why would he tell his friends about the good things…when I hurt him so much…of course he would only remember the bad things…”

He walked a few more steps before realizing he had no idea where he was. He stopped in front of a pair of double doors, hearing some music playing. He pushed one of the doors open slightly, and peered in to see a party in full swing.

“Ah…” He muttered out loud. “This must be Myungsoo’s party…”

“Yah, where do you think you’re going?” Sunggyu heard Key’s voice from somewhere close behind. “You can’t go in looking like that!”

Sunggyu ignored him and rushed into the ballroom. He attempted to avoid the strange looks he was receiving as he brushed past a group of giggling princesses. He didn’t really plan his next move, but he just wanted to get away from Key and the others. He was in the midst of looking over his shoulder, when he crashed into someone’s back, resulting in a scream and some flailing about—mostly from the onlookers.

Sunggyu realized he had fallen directly on top of the person, with his chest pressed to the other person’s smaller back.

“Hyung?”

He looked up to see Woohyun approaching him, donned in a sleek suit with his hair gelled up.

“What are you doing?”

“Uh…j-just…” Sunggyu trailed off, blatantly gawking at the younger man.

“Can you get off me? You’re heavy!” The person, who Sunggyu now realized was girl, underneath him whined.

“Oh sorry!” Sunggyu hastily struggled to his feet. A bunch of surrounding men dashed to help the girl, to her feet. “Are you ok?” Sunggyu asked worriedly. The girl, who had a sparkling tiara resting in her wavy brown locks, and a baby blue gown, smiled.

“I’m fine don’t worry about—.”

“Should we send this man to the dungeon?” One of the men surrounding her offered.

“Oh no! It’s fine. Just a little accident.” The girl chuckled, and all the men had sparkles in their eyes as if under her spell.

Sunggyu was about to apologize when Woohyun suddenly gasped.

“You…” Woohyun was staring at the girl with big eyes. “You—.”

The girl turned to him and also gasped. Sunggyu furrowed his brows looking from Woohyun to the girl in confusion.

“I knew I recognized you!” They all turned as Jinwoon walked up to them, pointing a finger at the girl. “You’re the chick that slept with Woohyun last night! Wait does that mean Woohyun ed a princess?!”

Suddenly the entire room was silent. The music somehow faded out, as all eyes were on the center of the room.

Sunggyu turned to Woohyun, with a look of complete and utter shock.

“You did what?!”
