Prince class

“I get to choose the next ride.” Sunggyu announced.

“Ok~” Woohyun nodded, and followed after Sunggyu, still clutching onto his stuffed bear.

“That one.” Sunggyu pointed to a haunted house.

Woohyun looked up at the dirty creepily decorated run down house, and frowned.

“But, hyung…this isn’t even a ride. It’s just a haunted house.”

“So? I want to go in.” Sunggyu replied and stood in line. Woohyun had no choice but to follow. While they were waiting, a dark haired girl suddenly nudged Sunggyu’s shoulder, causing the hamster to turn.

“Don’t you go to RU?” The girl asked, in a giggly manner.

“Yeah.” Sunggyu nodded, coolly. “I’m in the education department.”

“Wow, so are we!” The girl gestured to her equally pretty friend beside her.

“Do you know Jia?” The other girl asked.

“Oh yeah…she’s in some of my classes.” Sunggyu nodded.

Woohyun frowned as he watched Sunggyu converse with the two girls. Or rather flirt with them. He didn’t really like it. He wanted them to pay attention to him too and yeah maybe he was a little jealous of Sunggyu and his ability to attract the attention of girls without doing a single thing.

“Hey, I have an idea!” The dark haired girl squealed. “Lets all go in together ok? Then you can protect us oppa~”

“Ok.” Sunggyu grinned, and turned to Woohyun. “You don’t mind, do you?”

“Well actually—.”

“Great!” One of the girls interrupted as both girls latched onto either of Sunggyu’s arms. Woohyun frowned, and grumpily followed behind them.

The haunted house wasn’t that scary at all, but the two girls, kept screaming at everything. Woohyun figured it was just an excuse to huddle closer to Sunggyu.

He was feeling kind of bored and annoyed from being ignored and wandered away from the other three. He stepped through a dark hallway, with cobwebs decorating the walls, and a mummified dummy lying against the wall. Woohyun merely snorted and poked the mummy.

“They could have tried a little harder with this…” He said out loud. “How will this scare anyone?”

Suddenly there was a loud screech startling Woohyun, so much that he dropped his huge stuffed bear. He tripped and fell forward through what was apparently a door camouflaged into the wall. He sat up, just as the heavy door swung shut behind him. He was in a small square shaped closet. If he stretched his arms he could touch both sides of the closet. It was dark save for a small flickering bulb hanging from the ceiling.

Woohyun felt his breathing get stiffer as he struggled to open the door. But it was no use. It was jammed shut.

“H-Help…” He cried out feebly, as his voice got stuck in his throat. He felt anxiety overtake him, as he crumbled to his knees. His eyes darted to and fro, and it felt like the walls were moving in on him. He clutched his head, as he attempted to steady his breathing. But it only made it worse, and his eyes watered, and his head ached. “H-Hyung…” He cried breathlessly. “H-Help…”

*

“Kya!” One of the girls screamed and clutched on to Sunggyu’s arm. “This place is soooo scary!”

“Yeah…I guess.” Sunggyu sighed. It was about the fiftieth time she had said that, and it was starting to grate on Sunggyu’s nerves a little. “Woohyun, how’re you holding up?” He turned around, only to see Woohyun wasn’t following behind them anymore. He immediately stopped.

“What’s wrong oppa?” The dark haired girl asked.

“Uh…you two go on ahead.” Sunggyu told them. “The kid I was with…he’s my friend’s little brother. If I let something happen to him, I’ll never hear the end of it.”

“Ok.” The girls giggled and went on ahead of him.

Sunggyu sighed, running a hand through his hair, as he wandered deeper into the haunted house.

“Where’d he disappear to?” He mumbled to himself, when he noticed a collapsed figured in the dark hall. He gasped and rushed up to it, only to realize it was just a prop dummy. He shook his head and was about to leave, when he spotted Woohyun’s bear abandoned on the dirty floor. He heard a light tapping on the wall.

What’s that?” Sunggyu inched closer only to hear the tapping lighten.

“H-Hello?” He called out.

“Help...” Came a feeble reply.

“Woohyun?!” Sunggyu gasped, as he studied the wall, feeling around for some kind of opening. “Yah! Where are you?”

“H-Hyung…” Woohyun’s voice was shaky and weak. “H-Help…”

“Where are you—?” Suddenly he pushed open the cut out in the wall. He peered inside to see Woohyun on his knees in the center of the tiny closet, clutching his head. Tears were streaming down his face. “Woohyun! Are you—?”

Suddenly Woohyun bolted past the older boy out the door. Sunggyu hurriedly followed after him out of the haunted house. Woohyun ran all the way to the outskirts of the park, to an open field. He collapsed onto his knees, panting and wheezing, and crying.

“Woohyun!” Sunggyu finally caught up to him and had to stop himself from collapsing right beside the boy. “What happened?” He noticed how distraught Woohyun looked, and carefully the back of his head. Woohyun twitched slightly, but didn’t push Sunggyu away.

“I’m sorry.” Sunggyu said gently. “I should have came sooner.”

Woohyun let out a weak cry, before biting his lip. “W-Why are you saying sorry?” He hiccupped. “I-It wasn’t your fault…”

“I’ll get you some water.” Sunggyu decided and stood up, but Woohyun grabbed onto his arm.

“S-Stay…” Woohyun murmured. Sunggyu immediately sat back down.

“D-Do you need anything…or?”

“N-No…” Woohyun replied quietly, sniffling. “I-It’ll go away in a few minutes…”

Sunggyu really wish he knew what he could do to help. His heart ached seeing the boy struggling all by himself.

He hesitantly reached out and gently rubbed the back of Woohyun’s hand. He noticed that after a few seconds the muscles in Woohyun’s arms relaxed slightly.

*

“Does Boohyun know about…uh…” Sunggyu bit his lip.

“My claustrophobia? No.” Woohyun sighed, picking at leaflets of grass. “I don’t want to tell him…I can’t.”

Sunggyu knew it. He always had a feeling that Woohyun was the type to keep things to himself. And with a brother like Boohyun, he really wasn’t surprised.

“Ok.” Sunggyu merely said, and patted Woohyun’s head again.

Woohyun looked up at him, with a confused expression.

“Y-You won’t tell him?”

“It’s not really my place to tell him.” Sunggyu shrugged.

“Thanks…” Woohyun mumbled.

“Ah, but if you ever need help…o-or someone to talk to.” Sunggyu awkwardly looked away. “Uh…I-I’m here.”

Woohyun smiled softly at the elder. “Thanks.”

“Now, I don’t know about you, but I’m hungry.” Sunggyu sighed, stretching his arms over his head.

“But we just ate that ice cream before.” Woohyun grinned.

“Since when is ice cream considered food?” Sunggyu snorted. “That was a snack!”

“Ok.” Woohyun chuckled, but then paused as he patted the grass around him.

“Hm? What’s wrong?” Sunggyu asked, noticing the boy’s confusion.

“My bear.” Woohyun pouted. “Its gone! I must have left it behind…”

“Yah. You’re already in high school, do you really need a stuffed bear?”

“I don’t want it for that…” Woohyun matched Sunggyu’s eyes. “I wanted to keep it as a memento of the day hyung and I got closer~”

“D-Dummy.” Sunggyu grumbled, pushing himself up off the ground. Woohyun watched him stomp off, before calling out.

“Hyung! Where’re you going?”

“Where else?” Sunggyu groaned, without turning around. “T-To get that stupid bear!”

*

It was an evening, two days later, when Woohyun got home. He was all tuckered out from hanging out at the arcade all evening. He lazily hobbled into the living room, to see Sunggyu, donned in thick framed glasses and sweat pants, leafing through a rather thick book with a serious expression.

“I’m home.” Woohyun mumbled.

“Ah.” Sunggyu looked up. “Come sit down.” He patted the spot beside him on the sofa.

Woohyun blinked. “Ok?”

“I’ve been doing some research on claustrophobia.”

“You have?” Woohyun arched an eyebrow, as he plopped down on the couch. “Why?”

“What do you mean why? I want to be able to help you. Or at least know what to expect.”

“Really?” Woohyun stared him straight in the eyes. “But why?”

“Why do I want to help you? Because I’m a great person, that’s why.” Sunggyu stated in a matter of fact tone. Woohyun couldn’t help but chuckle.

“You know…you kind of are.”

“Hm?” Sunggyu looked up from his book.

“A great person, I mean.” Woohyun smiled warmly.

Sunggyu immediately coughed and looked away. “S-Shut up.”

*

Over the next year, the two got a lot closer, and built up a sort of friendship, that neither would ever admit to. Well at least Sunggyu wouldn’t. Woohyun, on the other hand, became extremely attached to the older male, and followed him everywhere like a loyal puppy. So much so, that even Boohyun started to get a little concerned.

Well concerned would be an inaccurate term.

Jealous was more like it.

One evening he walked in to Woohyun’s bedroom to see Sunggyu there, sleeping on the bed, while Woohyun was sitting on the floor, doing his homework.

“What…?” Boohyun took in the scene before him. “What is this?”

“Hm? Oh hyung, it’s you.” Woohyun nodded casually, barley removing his eyes from his textbook.

Boohyun frowned. He wasn’t used to such a nonchalant greeting from his little brother. Usually Woohyun would spring to life at just seeing Boohyun’s face. But now, he only saved that enthusiasm for Sunggyu.

“What’s Sunggyu doing on your bed?” Boohyun folded his arms.

“He was helping me with my homework.” Woohyun explained, glancing at Sunggyu from the corner of his eye. “But he fell asleep.” Woohyun chuckled fondly, as if he was telling the cutest story.

“Why doesn’t he go back to his own room if he wants to sleep?” Boohyun asked, glaring at the dozing hamster on the bed. He immediately made his way to the bed and started violently shaking Sunggyu.

“Hyung, no!” Woohyun pushed Boohyun away. “Don’t wake him!”

“Hm?” Sunggyu grumpily sat up, rubbing his eyes. He stared at the brothers. “What happened?”

“Shouldn’t you be heading back to your own room?” Boohyun remarked, slightly annoyed.

“Oh right.” Sunggyu nodded, too sleepy to register Boohyun’s snippy tone. He hazily clambered off the bed and was making his way to the door, when Woohyun stopped him.

“Hyung wait.” He gripped onto Sunggyu’s arm and leaned in. Boohyun watched Woohyun whisper something into Sunggyu’s ear. Sunggyu immediately blushed and shoved the boy away.

“S-Shut up.” Sunggyu stammered before escaping the bedroom at a faster pace. Woohyun leaned in his door way, smiling amusingly as he watched Sunggyu stumble down the hallway.

“Yah.” Boohyun grabbed Woohyun’s shoulder. “What was that?”

“Hm?” Woohyun spun around, practically beaming. “What was what?”

*

Sophomores in the Education Department at Rose University all had to complete a certain amount of tutoring. So Sunggyu, as much as he didn’t want to, was forced to as well. He was assigned a cute, but overzealous female high school freshman. He was too lazy to travel to the library every week, so he told the student to just come to Boohyun’s house.

They were in Sunggyu’s room, sitting on the floor in front of a small low set table. Sunggyu was once again explaining to the girl how to do a very basic equation. It seemed that she was far more interested in getting a date with Sunggyu, then a tutoring session from him.

“Oppa…” She leaned closer, tracing her fingers up his arm.

“All you have to do is subtract the X—.”

“I’d like to subtract this boring stuff from our date~” She purred.

“This isn’t a date.” Sunggyu sighed. “I’m your tutor, Yuri.”

“Ok, whatever you say oppa~” Yuri giggled, as she leaned even closer.

Sunggyu shut the math book, and turned to her.

“Do you even want to learn, right now?”

“Oh I do want to learn.” Yuri flipped her hair flirtatiously, making sure her non existent cleavage could be seen from her low cut top. “I want to learn oppa’s anatomy~”

Sunggyu was on the verge of rolling his eyes, when Woohyun burst through the door.

“Hyung, guess what!” Woohyun’s grin faded, when he spotted Yuri sitting so closely to Sunggyu.

“Oh, Woohyun…” Sunggyu regarded the boy with a nod. “I’m a little busy right now.”

“With what?” Woohyun frowned, sizing up Yuri.

“Tutoring—.”

“We’re on a date!” Yuri exclaimed, clutching onto Sunggyu’s arm.

Sunggyu merely shook his head, as he pulled Yuri’s skinny arm off him.

“Just go home for today, ok?” He told the girl.

“Ok oppa!” Yuri nodded cheerfully. Woohyun stood in the door way, until Yuri passed him by. Then he shut the door behind him, and plopped down beside Sunggyu.

“So the tutoring isn’t going well?” He grinned.

“Not exactly.” Sunggyu sighed, leaning back to rest his head on the edge of his bed.

“Bet you wish you had a good student like me, huh?”

“Good student?” Sunggyu snorted. “You? That’ a joke right?”

“I’m really smart hyung!” Woohyun pouted.

Sunggyu chuckled. “You’re a lot of things…but smart isn’t one of them.”

Woohyun smiled to himself. “Like what?”

“Hm?” Sunggyu blinked.

“You said I’m a lot of things. Like what kind of things?” Woohyun had an eager look in his eyes, as he matched Sunggyu’s gaze.

“Uh…I-I don’t know.” Sunggyu coughed, looking away. “L-Like this and that…”

“What’s that supposed to mean?” Woohyun leaned closer, looping his arm around Sunggyu’s.

“Y-You’re weird.” Sunggyu mumbled.

“Weird?” Woohyun frowned.

“Yes, weird.” Sunggyu sighed and grabbed onto Woohyun’s arm, and pulled it away from him. He noticed Woohyun was grinning, still. “Yah, why are you smiling, dummy? I just called you weird.”

“Yeah, but you meant it in a good way~” Woohyun hummed.

“What?” Sunggyu frowned. “N-No I didn’t!”

“You didn’t?” Woohyun’s mood went down slightly. “Oh…”

“Ah wait no!” Sunggyu started to feel flustered. He didn’t want to make Woohyun feel bad, but at the same time, he hated how the boy always seemed to make him embarrassed. “I-I did mean it that way! I meant you’re—.”

“Its ok hyung.” Woohyun sent him a small smile. “I know I can be annoying—.”

“C-Cute!” Sunggyu blurted out.

“Huh?” Woohyun blinked.

“T-That’s what I meant…” Sunggyu muttered, folding his hands in his lap. He felt his ears get hot, as he focused his gaze on the abandoned textbook sitting on the table in front of him. Suddenly he felt Woohyun’s arms wrap around his waist.

“I also think you’re cute hyung~” Woohyun nuzzled his nose into Sunggyu’s shoulder.

“Y-Yah, cut it out!” Sunggyu attempted to shove the boy away, while holding in a laugh as Woohyun had started tickling him for some reason. Sunggyu grabbed Woohyun’s mischievous hands by his wrists, but that only elicited more laughter from Woohyun. Sunggyu took in the younger’s eyesmile and the way his shoulders bobbed up and down as he laughed.

Sunggyu couldn’t help but smile as well.
