“I just have to go back to New York for a couple of days, I will check on the divorce processing too, in a blink of an eye

you will be out of that marriage contract” Hongki said to the telephone. Shinhye pushed herself into working since

yonghwa left the house. There are rumors spreading of course but she didn’t mind them at all. She wanted to

somehow focus on the station now. She rely on Seolhyun this couple of weeks and she felt bad for her cousin so she

wanted to take back her responsibilities one step at a time. She sighed. “alright. Have a safe trip” she uttered. She

tried to sound cheerful for him but lets face it, she’s only human, and she can’t be perfect anymore. Yonghwa broke

that wall for her, and unfortunately, she can’t put them back together, even though how she tries. “okay, what do you

want? Do you want another bag? A pair of shoes?” she sigh inwardly. Its so typical of hongki to ask that kind of

question. For him, material things means showing affection. She remembered one time yonghwa went to her office and

brought a stem of white rose with a letter.

“I got to go, see you in a few days” hongki’s goodbye brought her back to reality. Before she could say anything,

hongki is already gone. She puts her phone on her desk and turn to face the window on her office. She glance at her

watch and saw that its already 9PM. She bit her lower lip. When yonghwa is with her, she didn’t get to say at the office

that long. Usually, we will fetch her around 7-7:30 in the evening. A familiar thug in her heart made her bit her lips

harder. “you cant cry shinhye, you just cant” she said to herself. She really cant count now, how many times did she

cry just thinking of the days they spent together as husband and wife. Yonghwa as a husband is really excellent. You

cant say bad thing about him because she lived like a queen when they were together.

 

 

 

 

 

 

“sir, aren’t you going to pick up your wife tonight?” yonghwa’s thinking were cut off, he is busy thinking of what hongki

said to him earlier.

 

 

“man, I’m going back to New York for a couple of days, I’ll check on your divorce papers too. Check on my fiancé

from time to time okay?”

 

 

 

“sir?” “you can go now Mr. Go” his secretary didn’t say much after he dismiss him. He glance at his watch. Its already

9:15 in the evening.  Usually he should be at home watching tv with shinhye on the couch. Or eating dessert after

dinner. He smiled remembering the time they played scrabble, when shinhye excuse herself to go to the restroom, he

made some words on the scrabble board. When shinhye got back, she was taken aback.

 

 

 

“I love you, Ms. P”

 

 

 

 

Shinhye got so emotional that they didn’t continue they game, instead they curled infront of the fireplace snuggling

close to each other. “God how I miss you” he grunted. He really miss the girl, the only girl he loved. Sure he did some

flings after they “broke up” before, he cant find her, even how much he tried to reach out for her to tell her how he

really feel, he can’t. jonghyun left his place, he check on shinhye and cho’s place, no one know where they moved. He

tried to contact cindy, who is a regular on the bar he worked for as a DJ but even she doesn’t go there anymore. Its

like the world is telling him that they are not meant to be. But now, after the marriage bomb, he said to himself he and

she are really meant to be. They have been given a chance, or rather he had given a chance to tell her, show her what

he really feel. But it is also been cut short. He had to face the truth that shinhye is for his cousin. What are the odds,

His favorite cousin Hongki is now well soon to be engaged to the love of his life. He groaned and rested his head on the

table. He can’t think anymore. His brain was about to explode. But his phone rang. He lazily take the call and didn’t look

for the caller ID. “yoboseyo?” “yonghwa ssi?” he sat up, he knows that voice. “Seolhyun ssi?” “oh thank goodness you

pick up, I was calling shinhye’s parents but the ajumma said that they are currently on a cruise. Can you pick her up?

She’s burning up, I told her to rest for a bit but she didn’t listen. She was like “I have to finish this,, finish that”

seolhyun ranted. “how is she?” “Not good, I want to bring her to the hospital but…” “I’ll pick her up. Wait for me, go

get a basin and some clean towel, you know the drill right? I’ll be right there as fast as I could” yonghwa didn’t think

twice and just rushed to her office.

 

 

 

 

 

 

“how is she?” seolhyun look up and saw yonghwa panting. A smile crept into her face. It is evident that yonghwa is

inlove with her cousin. “her fever went down a little I think” seolhyun was about to put her hand over shinhye forehead

but yonghwa beat her to do so. She smiled again. Shinhye and her didn’t grow up like shinhye and cho but she can say

that there is no competition for the both of them. She look up to shinhye, and she treats her like her older sister. She

have witnessed shinhye’s puppy love to Jonghyun, her so called love to hongki and her married life with yonghwa. She

can say that out of those 3, yonghwa is her most favored guy for her cousin.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Yonghwa carefully put on the seatbelt to shinhye, she shifted making their faces inches away. He held his breath

instantly, he can’t risk smelling her sweet scent, he misses her so much that he is afraid that he might just kiss her

there while is unconscious. “yonghwa” shinhye whispered clearly making him look at her more. Her inviting lips are

parted, its so red because of her fever, tear are starting to roll down her face, he reached for it and used his thumb to

dry it. “come back to me please” she murmured again. Yonghwa felt a bit happy, hearing that she misses him too.

Carefully he planted a light kiss on her lips. “to hell with hongki, I will steal you away from him, we belong together and

that is what it’s going to be sweetie”
