“make way! Perfect couple coming thru” Jaejin yelled on the lobby. Shinhye rolled her eyes and cling tightly to Hongki. He looked at her

“see, we already got the love team name thingy” he chuckled shinhye poke his side. “and you are enjoying this?” she asked. “of course,

being the center of the gossip is a good thing, its good for you and good for me too” hongki is shinye’s boyfriend for 3 years now.  After

arrived from L.A after her studies she met hongki on a party. Her parents drag her there. He is the son of a businessman, who handles

exporting. They hit it off in an instant. He is jolly, fun to be with and smart talker. She and hongki became friends first. Friendship who grew

to something special and since then they’ve been the power couple of their generation.  “where are we going?” shinhye asked. “your

cousin Cho-ah came back from her honeymoon, we should congratulate them, I didn’t went to their wedding so I want to give them a gift

now” shinhye’s smile weaken. “oh, really I didn’t know” she lied. She really didn’t want to go and see her, them, cho-ah and her husband.

“let’s drop by the mall first” hongki said. Shinhye just nod. “you can do it shinhye-ah”

“Oppa, why can’t you accept me?” shinhye asked. “I’m in love with cho-ah shinhye-ah, I only think of you as a younger sister” shinhye

started to cry and left her pad.

“shinhye-ah, what are you thinking?” shinhye then turn to hongki and gave him a smile. Totally clueless of his question. Her mind is

preoccupied of the past. The past that she didn’t want to remember anymore.  She and hongki went to the appliances section of the mall.

Hongki look around as she follow only. “what do you think of this?” he asked her. “it’s pretty” hongki frowned “you’ve said that for the nth

time” he said looking at her intently. She feel guilty. “I’m sorry, I just,.. I’m just tired. Why don’t you just give them a gift certificate instead

so that they can buy what they want” she uttered. “oh right. Good thing I have you.” Hongki said and look at the sales personnel. “can

you tell us where we can get that?” he asked. “right this way sir” the personnel walk ahead. “kaja sweetie” shinhye smiled.

“I think Cho-ah will be happy to see us. After all you are close to her right?” hongki asked. Shinhye look at him and smile. “deh” she look

outside again. She remembered her days with cho-ah. They grew up together. She’s older than her for 2 years. The only girl cousin she

got on her father’s side. Cho-ah have been the eye candy on her father’s side. Even though she’s not as perfect as shinhye, she had been

the favorite. In a very young age, shinhye envied her cousin. That’s  why she insisted the “perfect persona” she wanted to be the best in

everything she does so that she will be the one they’ll root for. But time passed by it remain to be cho-ah. When they entered college, they

both flew to L.A. they live on the same pad and became closer. Shinhye discovered Cho-ah envied her too. She felt some remorse to her

cousin knowing that cho-ah’s parents compared her to her.

But rivalry blossom again, when they met him.

“where here!” hongki happily uttered. Shinhye opened her eyes. She didn’t realize that she had fallen asleep.  “come on sweetie, the family

is waiting for us” shinhye yawned and smiled at him. “aww, my girlfriend is tired, don’t worry, when you see your cousing you will be

energize” shinhye smiled “I doubt” she mentally uttered. Hongki went out first. Opening the door for her, she thanked him. Hongki made a

curtsy in front of her making her giggle. Hongki had been a friend to her, when she was forgetting about him, she’s always gonna be

thankful for his friendship and love. “I love you my princess” hongki said. She smiled and pats his head. “me too, let’s go” she said. Hongki

offered his arm to her to cling on. She took it and they walk happily towards her grandparent’s house.

“shinhye-ah!” Cho-ah runs towards her and hugged her. She smiled. She is not mad at her. She loves her cousin. Let’s just say it’s a

friendly rivalry for them. Seeing her that happy she feel relieved. “honey, shinhye and hongki are here, come here pali” choa-ah called on

her husband. Shinhye felt uneasy but she didn’t want them to see it.  Then there he is, the guy she wanted to forget. Walking towards her,

smiling, that favorite smile she love. “hello shinhye ah, hongki” hongki shook his hand. “nice to have you back bro.” “anyong jonghyun

oppa” shinhye uttered.
