Jay's POV

After I dropped Norae off and was back at my apartment I got a call. 

"Hey Songbird! What's up?"

"Nothing, I just wanted to hear your voice." she said in a wavering voice.

"Are you okay?"

"No" she said as I heard sobbing on the other end of the line.

"What's wrong?"

"I found out that my daddy wasn't as good of a man as I thought he was and that my mom really did love him."

"I see."

"Mom cheated on her boyfriend with daddy, so does that means she loved him more? Or did she just agree to marry him because of me?"

"Hmmmmm what do you think?"

"I......I don't know what to think!" she said breaking down into bigger sobs.

"Yeah, I couldn't really tell you. Why don't you talk with her about it?"

"I don't know if I can. We haven't gotten along very well since daddy passed away -she never came to visit him when I was there."

"Are you sure she didn't visit him when you were home working on school or sleeping?"

"Pretty sure, she always seemed to be at work or home. Plus, I did most of my homework at the hospital."

"Well, I really don't know what to tell you then other than to talk it out with her."

"But I don't know if I can!"

"You can't or you just don't want to?"

"Maybe both?"

"Okay, just use baby steps -talk to her about other things first before getting into the deeper stuff. If you jump right into the deeper stuff you'll end up drowning yourself or throwing your relationship right out the window." I could hear her breathing steadying.

"I guess trying to talk to her can't hurt anything, but it's going to take a long time."

"Well, trying is better than giving up before you start. I'm proud of you."

"Thanks Jay. I feel so much better after talking with you."

"No problem. You should go sleep now Songbird before you turn into a Nightengale."

"Okay. Sweet dreams Jay!"

"You too Songbird. Sing sweet songs in your dreams."

"Bye bye."

"Bye" I hung up feeling happy I smoothed out my songbird's ruffled little feathers for the moment. 

Kevin's POV- The date night

I was happier than a clam when Norae agreed to go out on a date with me even though she had said she was busy. She looked tired when I picked her up from her mom's apartment that evening. 

"Are you sure you're up to this?" I asked Norae for probably the 15th time.

"Kevin! I said I was fine didn't I?"

"Yeah, I just wanted to make sure and I don't want to force you to go anywhere if you are too tired." She sighed at me when I said that. 'What is her problem tonight? PMS? Or is she just too tired and really doesn't want to admit it, so I don't feel bad? Girls are so confusing sometimes.'

"Where are we going?"

"You'll see soon."

"Okay, but you've been saying that a million times too."

"Ta-da!" I said holding my arms out in front of a planetarium.

"We're going star gazing?"

"Yep! They're doing a learn the stars event tonight and I thought it would be cool to go with you."

"Oh" was all she said and just seemed disappointed.

"We don't have to go if you don't want to."

"No it's fine. It'll be interesting."

"Okay!" he said pulling me in by the hand.

Norae's POV

'Stargazing? I haven't been Stargazing since my daddy died. We used to spend hours sitting under the stars on summer nights singing together and looking at the stars. I honestly found the stargazing part of those evenings boring, but I loved just spending time with my daddy. Why does everything Kevin does seem to remind me of my daddy? I don't really want to do this, but I'll go along with him because he seems so happy.'

Kevin eagerly pointed out stars to me that I already knew following the instructor's instructions. I looked through the telescope half interested, but my mind kept wandering elseware. I'd shoot Kevin a smile or a nod every once and a while just to make it seem like I was enjoying this outing for him. 

The program finished after what seemed like an eternity and Kevin walked me back home. At my door he said "Close your eyes." Obediently I listened to him and I felt him take my hands and turn them palms up. There I felt a small package get placed in my hands followed by the order to open my eyes.

"Open it inside, but I think you'll like it."

"Okay, and thank you for whatever this is."

"You're welcome!" he beamed "Good Night and study hard." he said as he leaned in and pecked me on my cheek.

"You too!" I said turning and heading inside. 'Kevin kissed my cheek?! But why didn't I feel anything?'

Kevin's POV

I was so happy Norae seemed to enjoy the planetarium after she warmed up to the idea. I don't know why I kissed her on the cheek, but I was just in such a bubbly mood. No matter how I think about it -Norae seems like the perfect girl for me! I hummed all the way back to the dorm and I just barely made it back before curfew.

"You just made it." said Kibum frowning as I opened the door.

"Yeah" I said sheepishly

"You know what happens if we miss curfew." he stressed.

"Yeah" I said even more sheepishly hanging my head -No one wanted extra work especially when we already had extra long days preparing for our Phillipines Tour.

"Good. Soohyun wasn't very happy about you going out tonight with the early practice time we have tomorrow."

"He wasn't?" I frowned.

"No, he started getting worried when it was getting near curfew, but we kept him busy for you."

"Thanks, I don't like causing problems." I said gratefully.

"You sure have caused plenty lately." he said crossly before he got interrupted from saying any more.

"Kevin?! Is that you?" called soohyun from one of the rooms where the guys were watching what sounded like a kiddie cartoon.

"Yeah, It's me." I called back.

"Good! You made it!"

"Our manager called after you left and told us we have to be up extra early tomorrow -I tried calling you to come back sooner, but you never answered."

"My phone died on me. Sorry! You guys didn't have to wait up for me."

"Nah, if we're all equally tired, we can work equally as well."

"Too true, too true. Let's hit the sack then."

"Okay!" said Soohyun happily.

'Did I really cause a lot of problems lately? I feel bad that I made Kibum mad, but I can't be an emotionless robot all the time.' my mind was going a million miles per hour as I lay that night trying to get to sleep.
