Dancing In The Rain

Description

Thirteen year-old Park Min Hee has a passion for singing, and dancing is her hobby. She had all the support from her family and friends. She was a perfect daughter any parents would love to have or girls would love to be. Min Hee was multi-talented, smart, and pretty. When she lost her parents, she had lost her support. Her friends stopped liking her since she was basically an orphan now.

When she left Japan for Korea, she was blamed for her parents' death by her auntie. Min Hee couldn't take it anymore and stopped doing what she loved. Then she meets Zelo, the boy that cheered her up and told her not to give up. He then gave him his lucky face mask and bracelet before leaving. He hasn't even told her his name. What happens if they meet again?

Foreword

"Min Hee! Park Min Hee!" a womans voice echoed through the empty house. "Get your down here!"

Min Hee sighed and got out of bed. The way her auntie sounded, she knew she was drunk again. She cursed under her breath and slowly walked downstairs to the living room. She found empty beer cans everywhere.

'Great. She trashed the whole house again. I just cleaned it,' Min Hee thought to herself.

As soon as she walked into the living room, she found her auntie standing near the couch. She was furious. Her auntie pointed at her and yelled, "I thought you cleaned the house like I told you to!" She then pointed at all the papers and cans. "You see all of this?! Why are they here?!"

"I did clean the house up. A few hours ago! You trashed the whole place after you arrived!" Min Hee yelled back.

"Don't you dare talk to me like that!" Her auntie gasped. "After taking you in when your mother died and your father went into coma, you treat me like this?!" She walked towards Min Hee and slapped her and pulled her hair.

The teen just stood there motionless. Her auntie continued to talk, "I wish you were in the car with them. You could've died aong with your mother. It would've been better for hyung, your father. Life would've been easier for him if you two were gone!"

Min Hee scoffed and shook her head, "Yeah. It would've been better if I did. Then I wouldn't be stuck in this trashy place. I'm going out for a walk."

When Min Hee got out of the house and arrived at the nearby park, she broke down. Rain started falling from the sky, making her wet and cold. All she was wearing was her Diversity Movement sweatshirt and short shorts. Half an hour later, she calmed down and so did the rain. A boy around her age stood next to her, he watched her the whole time.

"It feels great, doesn't it?" He asked, smiling an angelic smile.

Min Hee was startled by him. She nodded and sniffed. He put an arm around her and lead her to a bench.

As soon as they sat down, the boy looked up at the sky and sighed, "Crying it out. It makes your heart feel lighter. All the burdens you've been carrying, they suddenly disappear when you cry it out." He turned to Min Hee, "So it's healthy to cry."

The girl laughed, "I see."

"Anyways. Why were you crying?" he asked.

Min Hee hesitated to tell him her personal problems, but she told him anyways. She told him about her parents getting into an accident, her mother dead, father in coma, her abusive auntie, and how she wanted to quit following her dreams as a dancer and singer.

"Y'know. Don't quit because your life has just been ruined. I'm pretty sure your parents would be really disappointed if you quit," he commented.

Playing with her wet hair, Min Hee stared at him. She looked down and smiled. 'He's nice and.. cute. Why does he want to talk to a girl like me?' She asked herself.

The boy stood up, and boy was he really tall. He held out his hand. "Dance with me," he proposed. Water from his hair dripped down. Min Hee laughed and gladly took his hand. Pulling her up, they walked to the middle of the park and danced in the rain.

After dancing, the boy recieved a text and told her he should be leaving soon. Before he left, he took his lucky bracelet off and slipped it on Min Hee's wrist. He then took his face mask off and put it in Min Hee's hand. "These are my lucky items. The bracelet, I made it when I was six. The face mask is just...it's just lucky. Never give up okay?"

A white van pulled up and he quickly got in. He looked back at her and waved.

A year later, Min Hee ran away from home and was now living in her older friend's mansion. Her auntie never reported a missing child report, she never even cared if she's alive or not, but that didn't bother Min Hee at all.
