NOTE TO SELF: Kris is an English genius
Superiority Complex
Day two, English Studies. English Studies, living hell.
How is it that every class I have, he's there?
Kris.
He sits at the back of the classroom, burning holes through my blazer with those dark eyes and annoying face.
His voice when speaking English is pure , even though I have no idea what he's saying.
I don't like him.
"I hate him," I announce to Sehun in the cafeteria.
My awkward group of friends and I make our way down the line, pushing our trays along the bench.
People in the kitchen slop the most unappetizing mush onto our trays.
“This can’t be edible.” I groan.
“It isn’t really,” Sehun remarks.
“But Chanyeol seems to enjoy it.”
Surely enough, my tall and slightly insane roommate shovels the gruel into his mouth.
Bits were stuck to his cheeks and a trail of saliva ran down his chin.
“Wow, now I’ve really lost my appetite.” I groan, slapping my tray down on a bench.
I pull my legs in and sit myself on a chair, running my chopsticks through the mush.
Disgusting.
"So how was class today? English with Kris, right?" Sehun asks.
I don't even know where to begin.
"He made fun of my English pronunciation in front of the whole class! Why is he so good at it anyway?" I ask.
"Well, he did live in Canada," Chanyeol explains.
"Oh?"
"You've got to admit you like it when he speaks English,Tao," Kyungsoo whispers.
"I saw your face. It was like you were having an or something."
My eyes widen and I flap my arms around stupidly.
"I just can't with him! He's just..." I choke on my words.
"Oh, sounds like our baby panda is in love!" Sehun chides.
"No! He's such an !" I exclaim.
As if on cue, Kris saunters into the room, his three friends in tow.
He looks hurt, and I feel kid of guilty.
"Here," he slaps a piece of paper down on the table, causing my rice to fall and splatter on the floor.
"What?" I ask annoyed.
"The teacher wants me to help you with English, because you ."
I scowl at him.
"I don't need your help."
"You think I actually want to help a freak like you?" He yells.
I can't help but flinch.
Kris glares at me and turns away.
"Come by my room this afternoon. I'll only give you half an hour of my time," he drawls, like I'm a huge inconvenience.
"I expect you to have read that first," he gestures to the wad of paper.
I sigh.
"Fine."
Whether I like it or not, I do need to improve my English.
Once he is gone, Sehun breathes into my ear.
"Hot date with Kris tonight, you better dress up, panda boy!"
I slap him, hard.
"Shut up!"
