Kris
Superiority Complex
"You went too far."
I don't even have to look up to know who's talking.
Luhan.
Byun Baekhyun is applying eyeliner in the hospital mirror.
That's where we all are now, the hospital.
Me, Kai, Luhan, and Baekhyun, as well as Chanyeol, Sehun and Kyungsoo, who stare at me blankly.
"What are you talking about?" Kyungsoo asks in a small voice.
I give him an apologetic glance, and return to staring at Tao's sleeping figure.
They had to clean out his stomach, and tubes are still in his arms from the operation.
Other than that, he's physically OK. Perhaps a bit on the scrawny side, but OK.
"Well Tao always had to do Kris' homework," Chanyeol explains to his bug-eyed friend.
"He never got to do his own and he got stressed and he cried himself to sleep and he got depressed after mid semesters and then he stopped eating and whatever he did eat he threw up and then he stopped going to class and then he stopped watching Star Wars with me and then he stopped talking to me and then he was always asleep."
Chanyeol says all of this in one breath, and I can't help but feel a chill run down his spine.
"It's my fault," I announce to the room.
"Yes it is." Luhan gives me a condescending look.
I feel like .
How come I never noticed?
If I truly did like Tao, how come I didn't try harder?
How come I never saw his pain?
I realize I'm a horrible person.
"I really like him..." I think aloud.
There's a gasp, and Sehun walks over and slaps me right across the cheek.
"You know what, this just makes it worse!" He yells at me.
"Why did you always treat Tao like when you really like him?"
I've got nothing to say.
"Did you not realize he likes you too?"
I gasp.
"I..."
"What?" Sehun glares.
"I'm so sorry."
Sehun pushes me out of the chair next to Tao's bed, taking it in my place.
"I'm not letting you near him again, do you understand?" He shouts at me.
"You're only hurting him."
I want to throw my hands up in the air in exasperation, and cry my eyes out.
But I can't.
Because I soon realize that perhaps it's for the best.
