While Hae was having a hard time figuring out what to do, Hyuk who has experience with his mom’s cooking, just toke little bites of his food until his parents both got a call. They both got up to take their calls and after they left the room Hyuk toke both his and Hae’s plate and dumped it into the garbage can that he uses every time that his mom cooks. When the two came back Hyuk stood up a said

“Wow mom that was amazing, you really have improved.” Later that evening Hae heard Hyuk’s mom calling him down for dinner. When he came down he was surprised to see that Hyuk’s mom had cooked. He remembered him telling him that his mother couldn’t cook that good so whenever they were home he was always the one who cooked. He looked over at Hyuk and saw worry in his eyes. He toke a seat next to him and grabbed his hand.

“What’s wrong?”

“My mother cooked that’s what’s wrong.”

“She can’t be that bad.”

“Oh yes she is. One time I got a bad stomach ache just from eating her food.”

“Oh.” Said a scared Hae

            5 minutes later Hyuk’s mom came in with a traditional Korean meal. Once Hae was served he stared at the plate for a few seconds and then takes a bite. After finishing the first bite he looked at Hyuk with big eyes. He didn’t know whether he should continue eating or save his stomach from pain.

“Wow Mrs. Lee this is indescribable.”

“Really Hae? I’ve been taking cooking lessons and didn’t know if I was improving or not.”

“Really mom, that’s great.”

“Aww thanks honey. Me and your father have to go but will you walk us to the door?”
“Sure mom.”

“I’m going to miss you honey.” Said Mrs. Lee

“I’m going to miss you guys too. Love you.”

“Love you too son.” Said Mr. Lee

            The rest of the night was a blur for Hae. He didn’t know how to function after having Mrs. Lee’s cooking. Seeing Hae like this made Hyuk sad that he couldn’t save him from his mothers cooking. He grabbed Hae and toke him to the car and drove them to their favorite restraint.
