Epilogue
DRIFTING
Chaerin put the flower we bought on Chaera’s grave. I just can’t stop looking at her name planted on that stone. Somehow I still can’t believe it that the corpse under that earth is my little girl. Chaerin linked her arm with mine and she held my hand.
I leaned my head on her shoulder, “I miss her.” I said.
“Me too.”
“I Loved her.” I said again.
“We loved her.” Chaerin squeezed my hand.
The wind blows suddenly and it hits our faces. The leaves are falling down to the earths. Chaerin slightly smiled, “I think she heard us.”
I smiled too, and looking up to the sky, “Yeah she is still around us. She will always be there, forever, taking care of us, scowling at us if we start to argue, and eventually, she will get us back together again.”
Chaerin glanced up at me, “This is what she always wanted. Us, getting back together.”
I moved closer to Chaerin to feel her presence more. “At least we granted her wish. Now she can sleep in peace.” I murmured.
“Yeah, I always think that she is just sleeping, and one day she would wake up, visit our home as a sixteen years old teenage girl.” Chaerin chuckled at her own words.
“Let’s go home.” I said to her.
She nodded, “Yeah, mom is waiting for us.”
I looked at the grave once again, “Goodbye,
