It was a day like any other when our parents sat us down by the kitchen table to talk, by the looks on their faces it was something very important that they needed to talk with us about. I felt how my stomach turned upside down and I looked over at Lili who was sitting next to me, I knew she was thinking it too. Were they finally going to tell us who our real parents were? Yes, we’re adopted me and my twin sister Liliana. We’re English but our parents are South Korean, when they got us they moved to England as they didn’t want us to grow up in Korea and forget our native language. So our names is Choi Liandra and Choi Liliana, they didn’t even bother to give us a Korean names, my guess is that they had some very tough times in Korea and that they wanted to forget about it and that’s why they never talked to us about Korea and stuff that related with their home country. They had taught us Korean though which we were truly grateful over that they had done, but that was the only thing.
