Luhan

Exo Planet: Shoot Anonymous

I sighed to myself while watching Suho and Chanyeol practice battle. Chanyeol may be pretty derpy, but when it comes to using his power he’s all over it, sending out fireballs and flames reaching 20 feet in the air. However, he had stiff competition with Suho as his opponent. Every time Chanyeol shot a fireball at him, he’d dowse it with a stream of water, leaving nothing but hot vapor in the air.

“Don’t be so jealous,” Tao nudged me. “Telekinesis is pretty awesome.”

“Yeah, I guess,” I shrugged. “But it’s not like I can pick up anything really big. Heck, I don’t even know if I can lift a person!”

“You just have to concentrate. I’m sure you can do it.”

“Thanks,” I smiled weakly, then turned back to the fight. “Your time control is no joke either.”

“Ah, you don’t have to-,”

“No, I’m serious! Being unable to move while you do is insanely scary. It’s like not having control of your own life.”

“Yeah, I don’t know,” he tossed the piece of wood he’d been carving with his pocket knife and picked up another. “Alone it’s not much though.”

I looked out across the land, then back at him. “Well I don’t care what anyone says; your sword fighting skills are kick-,”

“Luhan!”

“Yes?” I looked up to see Suho walking toward me. “It’s your turn to go. You’re up against Xiu Min.”

“Good luck,” Tao smiled as I got up and brushed myself off. “And thanks.”

I returned his smile then set off down the hill to the fighting arena. We usually came down to practice at least once a week, but under the circumstances I knew we’d be here everyday until the attack.

“Good luck,” Xiu Min offered me his hand.

“You too,” I shook it then took my place.

“Ready?” Kris shouted from the top of the hill. “Go!”

I immediately felt things begin to cool down, and before I knew it I was trudging through a foot of snow. My powers assisted in clearing my path, but I knew fighting at the same time was next to impossible. Instead I stood my ground and took the defense. Xiu Min shot snow balls and ice chunks at me, but I stopped them in there paths, throwing them into the distance like I was playing catch with a dog.

Xiu Min switched to another tactic. I could feel my feet beginning to freeze to the ground so I knew I had to act fast. Using much of my strength I began to make a wall of snow. The wall was building just about at the rate I was freezing. We all knew Lay could easily take away any frostbite given to me, but I wasn’t looking forward to a full body operation. Timing in this situation was key. If my hands froze I’d be done.

The frost crept up to my thighs and I could feel my body growing colder. However I continued to build my wall higher, ignoring the icy pain shooting through me like daggers. When it reached my waist I knew I was running out of time. My already cold hands were beginning to form ice. That’s when I finally put my plan into action. With one big of my hands, I mentally pushed all the snow on top of Xiu Min, burying him alive in his own trap.

After a few seconds of no movement, Kris finally shouted.  “Game over! Chanyeol! Baekhyun!”

The two immediately began to melt the snow before Xiu Min suffocated under his white blanket.

I looked up excitedly at Kris who gave me a nod. Me winning a match was not very common. It was pure luck that I had figured out a solution in time. Usually my mind wouldn’t process the situation until it was too late, and I’d kick myself for it later.

Lay hurried over to me and began healing my frostbitten body. “Good job. That was quick thinking.”

“Thanks,” I smiled. “Now if only I could do that every time.”

“You’re learning; that’s all that matters.”

The encouragement was nice but embarrassing. I was a year older than Lay, meaning I had a year’s more experience with my powers. However, it sometimes seemed as if I lacked the most. Even my brother who was four years younger than me was better, and he only just received his powers this year!

“Lunch break,” Suho patted me on the back. “We’ll start back up in half an hour.”

I nodded, though I wasn’t even sure if he saw it.

“All better,” Lay sighed as he pulled away from my body which was now back to its normal temperature and color.

“Thanks,” I smiled.

“No problem.”

“Wanna eat lunch together?”

He was about to reply when I heard Kris calling me. “Luhan, will you please join us in our leader meeting?”

“Oh gosh, I forgot about that,” I blushed. “Maybe we can eat together tomorrow?”

“It’s fine,” Lay smiled. “I’ve got Tao.”

“Alright, see you in a bit then!” I called as I headed up the hill.

“Good luck at your meeting!”

I turned and gave a shrugged like “what can I do?” then continued my walk to join Suho, Kai and Kris at the top of the hill.

“Luhan,” Kris acknowledged me. “Please sit down.”

I joined the others in the circle they had formed and made myself as comfortable as possible on the rocky ground.

“So what are your accounts on today’s training so far?” my leader questioned.

“I didn’t think it was too bad,” I smiled happily.

Suho raised an eyebrow and Kris shook his head at me, “Too bad? The skills were basic and the energy portrayed was weak. If we fight like that then we don’t stand a chance against Anonymous.”

“Then what do you propose we work on?” asked Suho.

“Defense. If we have a strong backup then we can be more confident on the battlefield.”

“Well shouldn’t we decide who’s taking what position?” Kai pointed out.

“Good idea,” Kris agreed. “Once the break is over we’ll-,” He was interrupted by a loud crack of lightning in the distance. “Chen,” he scoffed. “What is he up to?”

“Want me to go find out?” Kai offered.

“Please.”

Chapter 31: This story is so good! I can't wait for the sequel! You are such a good writer! I felt like I was reading a real book! There was just enough of everything; romance, action, suspense, and sadness. I was so sad when anyone died. :( But the story just wouldn't be the same without it!
